My pleasure Vader, I’m glad you enjoy the videos. The R 13 has DDR5 ram, the R 14 is still on DDR4. Both the 13 and 14 come with a 750 W power supply, however Dell just announced that they will be offering 1000 W power supply in the very near future. Thus far it is a pretty good prebuilt PC, and a substantial upgrade over the R 12 and previous, however I would like a little bit more hands-on time benchmarking and using it before I give my full recommendation to you

I just wanted to let you know you helped me pull the trigger on getting an R13. It isn't the mules nips as you say. But it's i9, 3080, cryotech cooling, 16g ddr5 ram. They say I should get it by the end of the month but I won't hold my breath considering some of your other videos. Helps I also have an RL friend that has owned 3 of them and has been singing their praises for over a decade now. Appreciate the content and insights.

This just makes me upset that I ever speny $3K on an R12 for this to launch a few months later 😤. In any case I get so much better performance now that I essentially salvaged the CPU & GPU to build my dream rig. Doing this sety me back another $800 so we're looking at $4K spent to have a 3080 + i9 but I am finally satisfierd despite now having an Aurora R12 shell (only missing CPU + GPU) and nothing to do with it. I don't think the Alienware Aurora R12 was worth the money in general but it's nice to see they've improved with this next iteration. Awesome video as always! Today I just purchased the R13 with i9 12900KF (16-Core, 30MB Cache, 3.2GHz to 5.2GHz w/Turbo Boost Max 3.0), 64 Ram DRR5, RTX 3080 Ti 12GB, 1TB SSD with 1TB SATA, Cryo-tech Cooling system. Crossing my fingers that it will be a great system and a bit future proof.

There's nothing wrong with buying with the "Ship and sold by Amazon" option. If you pick that option, the computer or anything is sold directly from Amazon and shipped to you. While if you don't see that but only "Ship from Amazon." It means you bought from a 3rd party and dispatched from an Amazon warehouse. Or "Sold and ship from XYZ Seller." What you really want is to ship and sell by Amazon and your gold.

Thanks for all your content on the Alienware Auroras series PCs. I unfortunately had a very poor experience with my Aurora R10 Ryzen Edition that had a Ryzen 5800x (liquid cooled) and RTX 3080. It had taken a little over 2 months to be received due to shortages, and then shortly after putting it to real world testing via gaming it had a lot of serious heating issues. Within 3 weeks the motherboard failed and after it was replaced (they were quick it took them 2 days to get someone out to replace it) the 2nd replacement motherboard failed due to the same issue even after not attempting to push the PC as hard (went to regular use mild gaming). I was able to return it thankfully and then decided to order the Aurora R13 based on your recommendation rather than the R14. My decision after doing reviews on the 12th gen i5, i7 and i9 was to go with the 12th gen i5 12600KF (crotech liquid cooled clear side panel) and the RTX 3080. Since it will be mostly a gaming PC the i5 based on my research seems to be the best bang for my buck and great performance. It has taken another 2 months to receive my new PC but man it is a completely different beast of a PC and not a single heating issue. I played CoD Vanguard on all ultra settings with ray tracing enabled (1080p) and it was boasting well over 200 FPS. The CPU never got hotter than 70c under max load. Idle it has been sitting at about 36c. The fans under max load are not nearly as loud as the ones that were in my R10 either under max load they sound much quieter. They aren't silent under max load but definitely a lot less noticeable. Great PC!

@@texas3258 all I can say is do not go pre built if you can help it, if you are nervous pay a local computer store, pay a guy advertising his services, IT guy at work... Best buy, or any place like that. Pre builts cut corners on power supplies, mobos and cooling, while it may seem easy it is often humiliating to see how well other systems run in comparison vs pre built computers. All in all I cannot recommend alienware and wish I never wasted money on the computer I have... I was fooled by videos and articles saying they were good or better than the rest... They are not. If you do go pre built I would recommend a computer store pre built, in Canada we have a shop called Memory Express and they sell rigs built by them and you can see a brand name gold rated PSU so you know its not some cheap part... It may be a touch more than a big box pc but you will see the difference both in performance and ability to upgrade in the future (you can't change anything on the AW without a BIOS error happening at start up).

No second slot for the R14. R13 does have one, as well as the cryotech cooling. R14 is standard water cooling. Dell saved those goodies for the intel model. But I am in the process of using the spare pcie x4 slot that is available above the gpu and I will let you know if it’s a gen4 that you can use with an adapter to install a second nvme at full speed.

Can you do a video tutorial on upgrading the ram on this R14. Cannot find one and I want to upgrade to the Corsair vengeance that you used on the R11. I want to upgrade to 64gb of ram since I have the 3080ti version. I tried to access the bios and noticed that the XMP is disabled by default so I’m afraid to just replace the ram and not be able to enable the full 3600mhz of the new Corsair. Not sure if it’s only disabled with the OEM Kingston ram or if it’s always disabled. I would appreciate even a step by step guide through the comments. Thank you!

My ram never worked well. I know now with youtube i can just fallow a step by step build with the compatible hardware. Anyway... buy, plug, update drivers and lets game. This is y i went with a prebuild. Ez, no stress. I know for people who build pc, buing a prebuild is almost unthinkable and stupid. Im dat guy 😢

I actually have heard of this issue before, make sure all of your windows and Delsoftware are up-to-date, if that doesn’t work you can re-download ACC from the Dell support page. You shouldn’t have to unlock anything once you have ACC installed you will be able to overclock CPU, GPU, ram.

So the only version I’ve tested is this one that has the 3070, but I would be very curious to see what 3080 and 3090 they’re using considering during their showcase of the R 13/14 They mentioned several times that the new case can support full-size GPU’s and they wouldn’t have to make custom short ones

You shouldn't have to replace half of the parts when you are paying several thousand dollars for a PC. It still runs around 20 degrees hotter than any other gaming PC. You can't upgrade the mobo and you can't upgrade the power supply. Thank god I returned mine before it was too late. I payed the same price for a Millennium PC from Origin PC and it blows the doors off of my old R13. My R13 smelled like burning plastic the second time I turned it on and it crashed around 20 times in two days. My Origin PC hasn't crashed one time.

To anyone who plans on getting one of these and then upgrading the GPU, with a non dell RTX. You WILL hit that ATX power supply with any card over 12.50”. I just found this out the other day. I had to remover the ATX plug and pull the black part off the connection(its two parts).

And actually... if you are buying a prebuilt, Build Redux is one of the best options... but if you are choosing between the "big 2" PC makers... (Dell or HP)... and their Alienware or Omen lines... the OMEN 45L is WAYYYY better as far as cooling goes with the AIO radiator in a separate chamber completely separate from the rest of the system... especially the GPU.

Got my bro a killer Dell (Dell eBay store) pc deal January 2021 here in Australia with 10th Gen Intel 10700 (non-k) w/ rtx3070, 16gb ram (2x8GB), 1TB m.2 and 500w platinum psu (I added 1x intake 120mm Silent Wings 2 fan for additional cpu cooling) for way much less than the GPU alone was retailing at the time during the shortage. You have to do a little research will products, but you can get some great bargains. I scored a $540USD laptop for myself from Dell Australia 🇦🇺 (Dell eBay store) with Ryzen 5600H, 8gb (1x8GB) ram, 1TB NVME, RTX3050 & 120hz screen and $75AUD voucher which I got another 8gb ram module and laptop bag 🥰👍. I got it from dell outlet refurbish like new they say paid for it yesterday should be here Friday I was ordering new but delivery was like may 24 so the outlet was way faster and much cheaper it was $4300 got it for $3500 out the door

Over time a custom rig will be better (AW uses OEM parts that are kinda crappy like the mobo), and a custom rig would not have such bad cooling (or should not if you buy a decent case)

What if i wanted a basic 900 dollar r14. I don't know these things so its hard for me to tell whether the basic Aurora R14 is better than my ALIENWARE M15 R3, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, 16 Gb Mem. I really want to get a PC finally but i don't know what any of these things mean. The Aurora R14 has a I5 which i thought was worse than an I7. It does have a like a. . . copy paste. . . "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050, 8 GB GDDR6" Im assuming that is better but honestly. I don't know. Any insight, anyone? Please?

I've owned the R4 for years and the truth is Dell doesn't make computers or even support them like they used to!! For that money spent I'd rather buy a Falcon Talon from Falcon Northwest. Having seen the way Dell makes there computers lately, NO thanks.
