I remember back when Alienware wasnt proprietary. In 2014 I bought an alienware system with an i7 4770 and the motherboard and everything else was modular so I was able to gut everything out of the oven of a case and put it all in a standard atx style case. Its a shame they've gone all proprietary just like HP.

The newest Alienware's, I think they are labelled R16 are vastly different from this case design. I still don't like the lack of ventilation they have and how much they charge for them brand new. Personally, I prefer to build my own, but thanks for showing this product.

Most people under 30 have never used component home stereo or home theater devices, and even fewer have ever worked with pro audio. They have a soundbar if anything and probably just use HDMI. It's kind of good the bros know what the optical jack is for. Personally, I have never used the coax digital. The fiber optic cables are just my preference.

Why not make your own, is MUCH cheaper and better, a Alienware Desktop PC you cannot fit there MB's in another PC Case, and you cannot replace there PSU's, because it used connectors that only fit there s***y MB's, so if it breaks after warranty, your F ed. @@AmigaWolf I agree with every use case on why you should "just build your own" but alienware is marketed towards the 95% of people who dont have the technical expertise & time to build one OR just simply dont want to deal with the troublehooting if something goes wrong. Good timing. Looking at putting a 6800XT in my 5800X system, so this helps me get a close idea of how it will perform. The difference between the 5800X and 5900 non X is not much, and almost nothing really challenges the 5800X. The orange RCA jack on the shield is digital audio coax. Same digital signal as the fiber optic except it uses an RCA cable. It is an industry standard in audio equipment. Very common to find it alongside the optical port. Never seen one on a PC before though.

If you want to change the cpu cooler to a 120mm aio you'll need to get one with a intel 1700 compat b/c that is why the cooler is turned slightly sideways, if you look closely you'll see it isn't am4, but rather lga1700. idk why dell offers these with those wimpy air cpu coolers but like you shown they are fine under gaming. Also you have to use the alienware command center to adjust the fan profiles. It defaults to quiet out of the box so it runs the cpu and gpu at less than rated watts at spec. Balanced and Performance increases the watts but also the fan speeds to keep temps in check.

A comment about cpu. I Dont think that cpu will run much higher temp than seen on this video at low load. The cpu all ready runs at its max wattage at around 75 watt load. No its not a typo. Zen 3 runs at higher wattage than advatized.i have 2 Zen 3 cpus. So know a thing or two of these chips. What you will see however at high load is a higher drop o core clock do to strict watt limitations. 65 watt for 12 cores is pretty strict. But temp will not increase drastically at full load. Zen 3 is actually pretty easy to cool compared to intels newest chip and amd own Zen 4.

I have an Alienware Area51 R2 Triad Case with all the goodies, and it has worked like a champ for quite some time now. I got her about 8 months ago, to replace my self-built system (I have built every PC I have owned since 1992), so this was my first pre-built unit, and I absolutely LOVE the Triad case. Big, roomy, huge PSU, lots of ventilation, and a liquid cooled CPU. I rock with it an AW768 mechanical RGB keyboard and the AW959 gaming mouse with RGB as well. One thing I like about the RGB of the case, keyboard and mouse is that they are subtle and not flashy! They accent the case and peripherals without being gaudy and over-done as seen in so many units. Sure, it's not the latest, greatest hardware, nor is it gonna win any speed records against today's gaming behemoths, but she works great for me and looks fantastic doing so!

The new Alienware systems are actually deviating from this form factor. They're starting to look a bit more like standard ATX systems, with some proprietary nonsense.

Using FSR 2 on a 6800xt?? Weird
@RanFranklin
@RanFranklin Жыл бұрын
Not weird at all if you think about a few things. If you are playing competitive games (first person shooter/online competitive games) that you do not want a lot of 1% lows FSR is a great option if you want to play 1440p/4k high/ultra settings. For 1080p totally not needed though, but for higher fps it helps create more stabilization. If you are playing storyline solo player games you can play the game fine at 60-100fps then FSR is not needed.
@FunkyTechy
@FunkyTechy Жыл бұрын
@@RanFranklin you shouldn’t be playing at ultra 1440p/4K if you’re competitive that’s said by itself. The added latency plus it’s a 6800xt it’s more than competitive at native res. FSR is for op cpus with weak gpus not op gpus getting an extra bump in .1% lows

In eu these PCs are sooo expensive. Prebuilds are much more expensive! And Alienware is wayyy too expensive u could get an highend build for the basic alienware...
