Great review but... ... I have owned the AW2725DF since last week here in the UK and love everything about it except the VRR flickering with G-SYNC enabled which isn't just limited to dark grey loading screens but is noticeable on bright desktop wallpaper and in some games too. In games, it is mostly subtle but I saw it straight away in the recently released Tomb Raider I-III Remastered as the game has no graphics options so defaults to the desktop settings so it was running at 1440p and 360 fps. The higher and more variable the framerate then the more likely it is that you will see flickering. It's not a deal-breaker but it is disappointing to see in a 3rd generation OLED panel and especially after gaming on a 165 Hz 1440p ASUS PG279Q G-SYNC monitor for the last 7 years that did not have this issue at all. It is the only real weakness of this display in my opinion - the purple tinge to the screen during daylight I can live with since I don't notice it while gaming anyway - and it seems like very few reviewers are even mentioning this. VRR flicker it seems is a real problem with OLED displays in general and I admit I have even seen it with my PS5 while playing games at 120 Hz on my 2019 LG B9 OLED TV.

I'm coming from a 27" 4k 160hz IPS panel and just got my AW this week, I must say overall quite happy but due to the fringing with OLED pixel layout text looks very bad and it gives me eye strain to work on over longer periods. I'm considering returning it and swapping for the 32" 4k model. The 360hz vs 240hz isn't such a significant upgrade to compromise on sharpness, at least in my use case. I was expecting the text clarity to be higher, HOWEVER watching videos looks nearly as sharp as 4k, it's incredible hard to tell a difference to be honest, but text is a complete different story
@zhelyazkogrudov647611 ай бұрын
that's a shame. I was really considering this, but do a lot of text-based work. and it's glossy as well :( oh well, the wait continues.

@@kane2369 from what I heard the 4K is much better and barely a difference. ofc it won't be as clear as my current IPS 27" 4k because it has lower PPI but it's significantly higher than the 1440p model. (110ppi vs 140ppi vs 160ppi)

I personally notice the difference in pixel response between OLED panels and IPS. I have a 120hz OLED T.V. and a 240hz IPS monitor, and despite the lower refresh rate it is clear to me that the OLED is way faster in terms of pixel response. I think the fact that you glossed over this and didn't even talk about actual numbers or testing is more indicative of your (IMO inferior) approach to reviewing. I would rather watch a review that has that information vs not.

What would you be using a 27” 4K display for? Can’t play FPS games on them unless you want to play at 60-120 Hz. No GPU is going to push 120+ 4K. Don’t know that most players would want their frame rate that low. If you are playing RPG, then why not get the 32”? 4K is great, but it has two things working against it for 27” and below: 1. The PPI is a non issue for that small of a screen. 1440p is way more than enough. 2. Very few people have hardware that can push 4K to any significant frame rates. Even a 4090 can’t push over 145 Hz in most games. I guess if you were into hardcore video editing, then there might be a case, but then I would argue that you probably want a 32” or larger. Just doesn’t seem to be a market for 4K 27”.
