@@RickWeiner13 relaxxx bro I made like 2-3 comments I'm just tryna inform people that theirs way better options out there durability doesn't matter much if you take care of your stuff and buy protection plans. Plus the Elites are like 100 bucks that's not reasonably priced at all when there's way cheaper rods that perform better, I used to use medium Ugly Stiks all the time and they are not nearly as sensitive as my 40 dollar Daiwa. I will say they are good for catfish and carp and still fishing in general, other than that they are very subpar in performance.

The smallest Ugly Stik, a one-piece rod only 4 ft. 6 in. long is perfect for Trout when using 3/4 lb. "invisible thread" line in extremely clear spring-fed streams. It's a species and water specific technique that uses 3/16 oz. Maribou jigs. ( with feather shortened to just beyond the hook ) The combination was developed in Missouri, by St. Louis County park rangers, but it works in Trout parks anywhere, and on Panfish generally. A small, but Not tiny, spinning reel is backed with 4. lb. mono and filled with clear or pale Brown mono sewing thread. The small jigs, White or pale Blue, are cast and slowly retrieved, or allowed to drift in current on a tight line. At the same time, the index finger is tapping on the rod, which causes the Maribou to "pulse". Keeping a very close eye on the jig ( the reason for light colors ) at all times. When the jig disappears, a fish has it, and a quick strike is needed. This isn't bait ... they won't hold it long. Good luck.

Limit Creek rods look like they start at $109 if bought straight from the manufacturer. That’s about the same price as the budget line St. Croix Triumph rods that are made in Mexico. Above the Triumph line, the rest of their lineup is made in Wisconsin.

@@WisGuy4 if I recall I paid 89 bucks for my 6'9 medium-heavy fast spinner the St Croix I was looking at was 180 and felt a bit squishier. I didn't say they were cheap, just better and for less money. AVOID the UglyStik travel rods. I bought a four piece 6’ 6” travel rod, like the one in the video and discovered that the rod tip section would constantly fly off, no matter how tightly it was inserted into the section below. This is a chronic defect with these four piece, travel rods - look around for customer reviews and you’ll see many other people having this exact same Issue. To add insult to injury, UglyStik refuses to enforce their warranty with this rod. I contacted the company’s customer service department three separate times asking them to cure this defect under the product warranty, and they refused to respond. I bought an EOW telescoping travel rod off Amazon and it is a vastly better product, better made, it has a better cork handle, it stays together properly when extended and is a surprisingly rigid, genuinely fast action rod. It cost me only about $30. I recommend that one over the UglyStik any day.
