It's fascinating that a lot of tutors don't explain Alignment topic in Adobe Illustrator Courses. So you sit there like a moron knowing what Shape Builder Tool is, but have no freaking clue about objects alignment! Thanks a lot for a simple detailed explanation! :)

It's hard to cover everything AND make money doing it. KZbin doesn't always position videos to make money. Glad this one was helpful.

Great video. Simple & to the point. I’ve used AI for over a decade & still learned a couple small things. Thanks for this video. Unfortunately, I’ve been having an alignment issue recently that’s really annoying. It only started after my most recent CC update. With my usual workflow, I align to selection way more than the other two options. As far back as I can remember, AI would preserve that option until I manually changed it to the key object or artboard. All of a sudden now it automatically resets to a random option every time I align selected objects. How do I get it to go back to the old way where it maintains the most recent option until I manually change it?

I don't know of an option to do that. It would be in preferences if it exists. I noticed with the latest major update that if I select two objects, Illustrator automatically selects a key object. I rather like the change because it saves me a click.

Cary Hawkins thanks for the reply. I’ll do another dig into the preferences. Keep up the great work!
