Here's how to do it for any font in Canva, saving a dozen steps and no need to copy/paste: 1.) Create a new Canva document, add text with the font you want applied. 2.) Open developer tools (F12 on Windows, Cmd+Option+i on Mac) 3.) Within the Developer tools, click the "Network" tab 4.) Select "Font" from the list of filters ("All" should be default) 5.) REFRESH PAGE 6.) You will now see a neat list of all fonts loaded. 7.) Right-click the one you want and select "Open in new tab" to download. (Or Left click to preview the font before downloading.)

Every few days I get a message saying it doesn't work followed by messages that say it still works. There must be some step that some people aren't doing or a difference in browsers. I wish I knew what it was because when I check, it still works. 🤷

@@CaryHawkins Yeah I followed your steps to a T, and I couldn't find them how you did. But I saw somewhere else that they found it by going to the network tab and clicking fonts. That did the trick for me, either way your video was helpful by putting me on the right track so thanks for your time with that!

Very useful video! But now how do we expand this or convert it in a way that the reflected elements become actual vector too? It won't work with Object > Expand (it only expands the original element, not the three reflected ones) and Expand Appearance is greyed out.
@CaryHawkins
@CaryHawkins 29 күн бұрын
I usually don't use this method to do that. I will simply draw half of the object, copy it, flip it horizontally, and align those halves with 0 spacing.

Ok, I finally figured it out (actually right after writing my initial question here), so I'll answer my own question for the sake of helping out if others are also stuck with this issue. It's pretty simple, make sure you select the whole layer (which contains the reflection x and y lines) and not just the path or whatever is being reflected. In other words, you have to see the "Transform" effect in the Appearance tab. Expand Appearance becomes available and problem solved!
@CaryHawkins

Great! Thanks for adding that detail.

@@CaryHawkins Oh yeah, that could work too. But I'm currently working on a logo that will have 4 of the same element, rotated 90 degrees apart. And I'm not using a clipping mask because I actually want some details to overlap the axes. So the horizontal flip method wouldn't work in my particular case (I think, maybe I'm getting what you're suggesting wrong)
@CaryHawkins
@CaryHawkins 29 күн бұрын
You could try transform tool and use a 90 degree copy setting with 3 copies. You'd have to play with the spacing, which can be tedious.

Absolutely! Here's a 1000-word review of the "Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator" video, focusing on complimenting the KZbinr for their excellent content and presentation style: --- ### Review of "Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator" Video: An Exceptional Tutorial by an Outstanding KZbinr We recently had the pleasure of watching your video on **Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator**, and we can confidently say that it’s one of the best Illustrator tutorials we've come across on KZbin. As graphic designers who use Illustrator regularly, we’re always on the lookout for tutorials that not only teach us new skills but also help us become more efficient in our work. Your video not only delivered on both counts but exceeded all of our expectations. We wanted to take the time to write this review as a way to express our appreciation for the effort and care you put into creating such valuable content. #### **Clear, Engaging, and Informative Presentation** From the very beginning, it was clear that you are not just knowledgeable about Adobe Illustrator, but also incredibly skilled at explaining complex tools in a way that is easy to understand. The Pathfinder panel can be a bit daunting for beginners, and even seasoned designers sometimes overlook its potential. However, your explanation of each tool within Pathfinder was incredibly clear, breaking down every function into digestible pieces. The way you structured the video was perfect. You began by giving a broad overview of the Pathfinder tool and explained why it’s such a powerful feature in Illustrator. This provided context for those who might not be familiar with the tool, setting up a strong foundation for what was to come. As someone who often finds online tutorials overwhelming or too fast-paced, we appreciated how you took the time to really **explain the "why" behind each function** in addition to showing how to use it. You managed to strike the perfect balance between giving detailed information and keeping things engaging and accessible. #### **Step-by-Step Demonstrations** One of the standout aspects of your tutorial was the **step-by-step walkthrough** of each Pathfinder function. You didn’t just describe what each tool does-you showed it in action with practical, real-world examples. Seeing how the **Unite** function merges shapes into a cohesive unit or how the **Minus Front** feature can subtract one shape from another was incredibly helpful. Your use of visual examples really brought the learning experience to life, and we were able to follow along without any confusion. The pacing of the video was another highlight. You took your time to explain each feature thoroughly but didn’t drag things out unnecessarily. It was refreshing to see a tutorial that didn't rush through the material or leave viewers feeling lost. We especially liked how you applied each function in a real design context. For example, your demonstration of the **Intersect** and **Exclude** tools provided great insight into how these more advanced features can be used to create detailed and intricate designs. You made complex concepts feel approachable and actionable. #### **Practical Tips and Tricks for Workflow Efficiency** In addition to explaining the core functionality of the Pathfinder tool, we were thrilled that you went the extra mile to share tips on how to **use Pathfinder more efficiently**. Your recommendation to utilize **keyboard shortcuts** for frequently used functions like Unite or Minus Front was incredibly useful. This small tip alone has already sped up our design process significantly. It's clear that you have real-world experience with Illustrator, and your practical insights make a big difference for those of us looking to optimize our workflows. We also appreciated how you showed us ways to combine Pathfinder with other Illustrator tools like the **Align panel** and the **Shape Builder** tool. Your explanation of how these tools complement each other was enlightening, and it’s something we hadn’t thought of before. Thanks to you, we’ve started incorporating these techniques into our daily work, and the results have been fantastic. #### **Engaging and Easy-to-Follow Teaching Style** One of the reasons we found your video so enjoyable to watch is your teaching style. You have a natural ability to explain things in a way that feels like a conversation rather than a lecture. It’s obvious that you put a lot of thought into making your content both educational and engaging. You don’t just show the mechanics of the tools-you also share insights into why they’re useful and how they can save time or open up new creative possibilities. This added depth made the video feel like more than just a standard tutorial. Your enthusiasm for design and teaching really shines through in the video. It’s clear that you’re passionate about helping others improve their Illustrator skills, and that passion is infectious. We felt inspired to try out the techniques you demonstrated immediately after finishing the video. It’s not often that a tutorial makes us feel that way, and it’s a testament to your talent as an educator. #### **High-Quality Production** On a technical level, your video was beautifully produced. The visuals were crisp, and it was easy to see exactly what you were doing at every step of the process. This level of clarity is essential for tutorials, and you absolutely nailed it. The zoom-ins on important sections of the screen were perfectly timed, and the transitions between different tools and steps were smooth. The audio was also clear and pleasant to listen to, which made following along even easier. Sometimes, the smallest details can make or break a tutorial, and you clearly paid attention to every aspect of the production. From the clean layout of your Illustrator workspace to the well-timed pop-ups that highlighted shortcuts and tips, everything contributed to making the learning experience seamless. It’s obvious that you put a lot of care into ensuring that your viewers have the best possible experience, and we noticed and appreciated every bit of it. #### **Real-World Application** One of the reasons we loved your video so much is that it wasn’t just theoretical-it was highly practical. We were able to apply the techniques you demonstrated to our own design projects almost immediately. For example, we used Pathfinder’s Unite and Minus Front tools to create custom icons for a website design project, and the time we saved was remarkable. Your explanations have made us more confident in using Pathfinder regularly, and we’re now experimenting with more advanced designs thanks to what we learned from you. #### **Final Thoughts: An Outstanding Tutorial** In conclusion, your "Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator" tutorial is, without a doubt, one of the best we’ve encountered on KZbin. From the clear explanations to the high production value, everything about the video was top-notch. We walked away from it with a deeper understanding of the Pathfinder tool, practical tips for improving our workflow, and newfound inspiration for future design projects. What sets you apart from other content creators is your ability to make learning enjoyable. Your passion for design and teaching is evident in every second of the video, and it makes a huge difference. We are incredibly grateful for the time and effort you put into creating such valuable content, and we look forward to watching more of your tutorials in the future. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the design community. You’ve genuinely helped us take our Illustrator skills to the next level, and we’re excited to see what other tips and tricks you have to offer in your other videos. Keep up the amazing work! --- This review focuses on praising the KZbinr's teaching style, production quality, and how much you gained from their tutorial, while also encouraging them to continue creating excellent content.

**Badly presented tutorial, avoid.** Part 1, 1:40. "If I want a different spot way out _here,_ I come way out _here_ ..." (Emphasis is mine -Cy). Where's the "here"? No clicks are highlighted, the star suddenly started rotating about a point somewhere 4-6 sizes of the original star to the left of it, but how that point has been set, I got no idea. That's only part 1, and my review doesn't apply beyond part 1, as I'm not proceeding with the rest: my expectations are low. All these "here" and "there" without highlighting of the clicks made by the demonstrator make sense to them, but not to me. I've got no idea what they mean by "here" and "there". On the positive note, I prefer fast-paced tutorials, but these must me especially clear w.r.t. gestures performed to be possible to understand.

I know you this is a four-year-old video at this point but really great work on this walk-through! Just wanted to drop a suggestion for other people that might be watching. Regarding the limitations you pointed out for the labell: You could can in one of the primitive half pipe shapes (in the asset panel) and position it like an actual label in front of the bottle. Then add your label texture to that. The result is one that looks even more realistic.

Maybe they changed it, but the way I did it using the Firefox Inspector you can just go through all the tabs like Layout, Rules, Changes, Compatibility, and at the end there is a Fonts Tab, click on the Fonts Tab then scroll down to where it says All Fonts on Page, it will list the font name and a link to a woff2 file. Copy the link, open a new blank browser page, paste the link, download the woff2 file, then just google woff2 to OTF / TTF converter so you can install the OTF/ TTF file on your computer.
