A sentence I once read that really impacted me is: diseases run in families because lifestyles run in families. So something might seem hereditary when it really is not. I think this is great because it gives you a lot of control over your health instead of feeling like you've just been dealt a bad set of cards in the health game. Maybe this is inspiring to you too, Ali. Hope your numbers are improving soon, all the best to you!

A good way to get greens into you, is a juice. Get an omega juicer, it doesn't cause heat on the veg. I make mine with 6 leaf kale,1 cucumber, 4 celery stalks, 2 green apple, one thumb size fresh ginger and 1/2 lemon, peel and all. It's also a anti cancer combo.

Behind the scene explanations make me appreciate reels SO much more. Love the creativity! I'm glad Lyds gave you materials on pollinator friendly flowers--I've been meaning to mention them. You may want to look into obtaining your own or soil samples or having someone obtain samples from several places on your property for testing. The results will give you specific information regarding your soil what will flourish at your home. Catch ya next time!

I’m so glad your blood pressure is being addressed. In case your practitioner didn’t mention it, kidneys drive our blood pressure and if we have too much or too little protein that can impact things, so hopefully your provider talked with you about that so for example if you’re doing proteins shakes you might want to talk about that with a registered dietitian and or your provider. Also, sugar hardens the little pumps in our kidneys, so regular sugar and anything converting to it-starchy vegetables, alcohol, baked goods, etc.) would be good to look at through research and medical advice. Sometimes, it’s not even about stress.
@ashalex3073 жыл бұрын
Really interesting things you’ve said I never knew about. Do you have any thoughts on chronic low blood pressure? My sister is really struggling and doctors don’t say much except salt tabs. Any advice would be appreciated!
@AliGordon3 жыл бұрын
Thanks he mentioned I was not getting enough protein in my diet from our conversation, I'm going to work on my TDEE and then split my Macros 20;40;40 aiming to hit 1-1.5g protein per pound of bodyweight. I need to make some time to run through it all and convert it into real time food at the moment I've just been increasing intake as a short term action.
@gaelliott613 жыл бұрын
@@ashalex307 I just had a general training as a transition coach here in the U.S. it is a position whereby nurses and social workers did a demonstration project for the government to prevent re-entry into the hospital w/in 30 days. So, I’m more of a mental health provider than medical but we had some basic training. I’m really glad Ali’s doctor actually knows about nutrition! Our U.S. doctors don’t have a lot of this in their training. Registered dietitians are not in our medical practices, traditionally, our clinic has one, but are trained to look at food and it’s relation to medical issues. I can only tell you this about salt/sodium: it’s an electrolyte-too little can lead to confusion, too much-fluid overload in cells, ours contains iodine which can help thyroid function-or shouldn’t be used if one is allergic to it. Our RDA here is 2000 mg/day for adults but a person really should ask their doctor-I can’t give medical advice and always recommend asking a doctor or nurse practitioner who sometimes has more time to talk.
@debdubois36363 жыл бұрын
@@gaelliott61 I’ve worked in the medical field ( not as a clinician) and you are absolutely right. US physicians don’t learn much, if anything, about nutrition in med school.Thank goodness for nutritionists and dietitians!

Agree 100%. Blood pressure is related to high insulin and a high carbohydrate diet..eg.pasta. Get your fasting insulin levels checked and ask for a CAC test too. Make sure your dr is up to date with the latest research on blood pressure which sadly very few drs are.
