Sheikh, you saved my marriage from breaking several times, first through the marriage series and now through this. Me and him had a disagreement going on. It's his habit to start every conversation with salam, so I'm always obliged to reply and then i used to proceed with the dispute, but after hearing the first rule in this lecture when i talked to him, after the exchange of salaams i was unable to talk harshly because it was a promise between me and Allah that no harm could reach him from me. May Allah reward you immensely.

Dua after a gathering the sheikh mentioned سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illaa Anta, astaghfiruka wa atoobu ilayk Translation: “Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You”. [Sunan Abu Dawud]

If your voluntary gatherings are with the kuf’far instead of mu’minun, that in itself is a bad road. Allah says: “O believers! Do not take disbelievers as allies instead of the believers.” An Nisa 144
