Joli travail très méthodique et à la fois très professionnel. Le service d'entretien de nouvelles voitures deviennent très complexe. La seule erreur dans cette vidéo magnifique c'est que la vidange n'est pas effectuée à chaud. Il est fortement recommandé de faire une vidange sur un terrain horizontal et aussi avec une température d'huile un peu élevée pour que l'huile soit moins visseuse.

Thank you for the video. You gave me courage to lift the car and get under it in my garage. From the side I was, I did not see the small latch. The filter is hard to unscrew and I bent the latch and it broke off. Because the filter cap is so tight, I do not think it will come out on its own. I am looking to buy a new one. Yours and other videos here did not say how it works. One mechanic just said to bend it away. Any input you can share with us?

The filter is just be unscrewed and comes out, it doesn't need to be tight It's just like I showed, nothing more

Question:. Since brake cleaner is damaging to plastic, do you think it's safe to spray it on the plastic oil filter cap. Torque specs... Oil filter cap = 25 N•m or 18 ft.lbs. Oil filter cap drainbolt = 13 N•m or 10 ft.lbs. Note: if these torque specs aren't followed and you over-torque the drainbolt the next time you try to remove the drainbolt the entire oil filter cap may come off with it.

My same thought. He actually did a video a little while ago about using mass airflow cleaner on plastics instead. I suppose you could use the carb cleaner as long as you ensure you get ALL of it off so it doesn’t damage plastic over time. But I’d just avoid it altogether and use the proper cleaner.

biggest problem is removing filter housing after somebody has tightened it too much it barely needs to be tightened since the o ring is on side not on end of housing the filter wrenches with extra notches for those toyota filters when they are stuck

The plastic oil filter cap is very tight. In fact so tight that my filter socket is stuck to it I can't get either one out. The filter socket is stuck.

Weird oil filter. Did many oil changes on my Toyota thru the years using the old Aid Auto Stores metal ramps bought in 1978 for under $10.00!

0-16 will lose its viscosity to 0-10 or 0-5 as time goes on, it will damage the engine. 5w-30 has proven to last a million miles in scientific testing. Use 0-30 the least to 0-40 because it will get thinner as the oil get wear away. We see old oil is much thinner because it worn away.
