Alina & Mal have known each other for years since children and they havent had a love moment. Their love is more of a Brother/Sister type. Where as Alina & Aleksander had an instant Connection from the beginning and in a short time it grew to Lust, Desire, Friendship and Love. True Love, the kind that its worth fighting for. #DarklinaEndgame

I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. Women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and science shows that women can bond very well with each other. Generally, women are even more social than men are. After something bad happens, a woman quickly rushes to talk to all of her female friends to get support, whereas a man can isolate himself and grief alone.

Ohh man, I love these two so much, I'm friggin obsessed, this is SOO GOOD! I genuinely don't understand how these characters aren't together. They are friggin soulmates, darkness and light, yin and yang. Hell, even Ben Barnes said it himself. Just because Mal is the good guy does not mean he and Alina belong together. The Darkling and Alina they defy each other, they challenge each other, it's so interesting. Yes, the Darkling is manipulative and he is violent, but that's what he was taught in order to survive. I mean tbh I think Zlatan is more of a bastard, letting Fjerdans in, so they can raid the docks and kidnap and kill Grisha, no wonder the Darkling wants to kill them. Throughout the decades he's only had himself for company, to make decisions, and he's become colder and crueller because well, of time. With Alina, he doesn't feel alone anymore, he feels like he could spend forever with her. That moment where she touches his hand and the light just exploded, his face! His face said it all. It's like he's saying I've finally found someone, and Alina could really be his balance. I feel like when she said to him that he didn't give her a choice, neither did she. When Baghra took her, she should've went back and gotten the truth out of the Darkling, she knows him better than bloody Baghra, he would've told her I think, and she could decide from there. She doesn't get how much the Grisha had to suffer and maybe he could've told her that so she could understand. I feel like he really wants to protect Alina as she is the only one like him, and, if they got the chance, the other side would try to kill her. I swear, there is literally so much potential with these two they're really interesting and complex characters. I hope Netflix realises because God knows I'm going to fucking lose it if they don't.

Well said. You’re right about how she didn’t give him a chance to explain himself to her and just decided to flee first chance she got. I think Bahgra might be the one more to blame in s2 if things go south. She’s the one who was desperate for Alina to show her powers and once she did the old lady just said “yeah you’re real now leave you’ll only make things worse” as if she wasn’t the kickoff to trigger the power in first place. Darkling had nothing to do with it he just wanted the company and eventually love… he skipped the trust part on the relationship building tho If Darklina won’t come true I vote nor does Alina with mal, everyone their one way but still better that bff’s to lovers again in the history of stories… can’t a guy and a girl who start as friends end as well as friends for once? world ain’t falling apart from it, just saying

@@sirenamendes8604 i know right for once there is thing called friendship in the world not all should turn into love affair and its not love just because it gives us comfort.Basically I think they have great character at their hands and could create complex and beautiful love story(I mean darklina) and could show dark lings redemption because what I heard and read about books its very old school and boring ending in my pov. I think Alina needs to be more mature she is very childish she gets very easily manipulated.I think she need be her own person first and have her opinion before going for any relationship which they clearly didnt showed in the book.Hope the show will be different . Darklin is obviously not villain but anti hero and I hope he gets hope that he can come out of the darkness ,the way alina and other behaves it will push him more towards bad side.Me personally want to see a story where I can see hope for someone ,2nd chances and understanding.

YEP He did not lie. He didn't tell the whole story. He told her a few things like: a) he wanted her help to save the grishas- well, he really does. B) he uses a shadow magic- he parted a man in the middle in front of her. What did she want? Hi, I'm Aleksander and I have 500 years old. I've watched 4 episodes so far and it's clearly going the malina way...I just hope they utilize Aleksander/Darkling potential and give him depth and a redemption arc. I want him to be more than just the power hungry freak the writer seems to be shaping him out to be. If he's just going to be a cold hard villain then why cast Ben barnes? He deserves better
