I personally don't care for mele of Kapi'olani. As she helped to demolish the kapu. The thing that turns me off most about her is a story my Tūtū told me. Kapi'olani took a haole bible to the edge of Hale ma'uma'u, to reed from it to the volcano. To show that the haole god was Kore powerful than our Hawaiian gods. Big no no kapi'olani. Pele is the creator. The earth eater. Lucky she did t eat you that day. Kalākaua did many great things for our culture, such as the hula renaissance. He also did some foolish things as well. But we won't get into that right now. My point is, don't ever defile my gods. Kapi'olani chose to do that. Hewa nui on your part Kapi'olani. Instead of perpetuating your people and our culture, you desecrated it. You chose the white mans way, instead of your own. Be more like Ke'elikolani. Aloha.
