Кажется, есть неправильное понимание моей и разговора Насти о цене проживания в Москве: она не говорила, что 5000 долларов США в месяц ни в коем случае не нормально для обычного человека, который там живет. Мы говорили, сколько будет стоить иметь собственную квартиру в центральном районе, машину, отдыхать несколько раз в год и вести комфортный образ жизни, как то, что обычный человек в США считает «нормальным». потом мы сказали, что средний человек в москве зарабатывает около 1500 долларов в месяц, а в других частях россии гораздо меньше. мы только что говорили о разных сравнениях того, как жизнь в москве очень дорога для средней заработной платы.

300k rubles is required for a life in Moscow that any Western person is used to having at home. When I lived in Moscow, I earned 350k and I was able to save 150k per month living in a nice apartment downtown Moscow with my wife. We traveled internationally a few times a year and ate out A LOT. We didn't have a car though. Now I earn double that in the US and I can't save near that amount....

@@mony2k6 I would definitely work in Moscow again! The only reason I left was that my professional experience was all in Russia and I needed US experience to really advance in Russia. I was an American who didn't have any real US work experience. I was seen almost as a native English speaking Russian. Of course, my options were better than a typical Russian, but being a western expert is a better position to be in.

@@matthewshannon9 If you live in Moscow and work within city limits, you don't need a car. Moscow has a very developed public transport infrastructure. Moreover, public transport fares are relatively cheap.

Thank you so much for sharing such a great video from Moscow, my favourite city so far in this world. My first visit in Moscow was in 2015, and now I've been there already 8 times... I have travelled a lot in Europe, also some places in the US, but there is so far no place like Moscow. Wonderful architecture, clean, safe, eficcient, and just name it. And of course, the Russian people, also in Moscow. They are so polite and helpful, and when you get to know them, they are also giving you a good warm smile. Great vid! я люблю москву! I'm American, and I was in Moscow in May 2019 and loved every minute. Russians are so nice and helpful. Thank you for showing the downtown buildings because I did not get to go there. My advice to travelers is to learn a bit of Russian before visiting. I am Chinese from Malaysia. In 2019 I went to Kaliningrad, then to St. Petersburg, and ride the Transiberia Railway to Moscow, Irkutsk and later Lake Baikal. My trip took me to Ulaanbaatar and last stop at Beijing China. I rode the High speed Train to Hong Kong and flew back to San Francisco. I really miss traveling and miss Russia immensely.

I've been to Moscow, three times, one month each time. It was at first awkward for me, because I'm an American man. I grew up during the "cold war", as it was called. We were taught not to trust the Russian government. But when I was there, I was impressed with how friendly Russian people were. Each time I went, I felt more relaxed, and enjoyed it more. What I liked best, was the fantastic metro system. Also, how clean they keep the city, with very little littering. The food is very good, an there are many outdoor markets. I have a visa to use this summer, to go back. Unfortunately, with the covid-19 situation, I don't think I'll go. Hopefully, next year again.

I am from the Los Angeles area of the US. I have been to Moscow three times. It is the largest city in Europe and you are right, it is overwhelming. For your next trip to Moscow, walk through the Arbat section, and when touring the Kremlin, include the Armory. Don’t forget the wonderful GUM, my favorite shopping building in the world. I recommend Volgograd for your next city to explore. It is my favorite city in Russia. It is a working class city with an incredible WWII history. I am planning another trip in 2023, assuming the virus plague is over. I have found that it is the people that make Russia special, not the palaces or buildings. The recent history of Russia is both tragic and triumphant at the same time. One tremendous lesson from my travels to Russia - the ordinary Russian people and the ordinary American people are so alike. We want the same things. В Москве можно хорошо жить и полтинник зарабатывая. вопрос больше в жилье. Если оно есть своё, то и 50-000 большая зарплата, а если нет, то и нет :). Снимать в Москве это что-то. Как, впрочем, и в любом топовом мегаполисе. Разница лишь в том, что наверно нигде в мире нет таких мегаполисов, где так высок процент тех, кто живет в своем жилье. Обычно там, либо съем, либо "банковская аренда" (что тоже на своё не тянет). А так конечно Москва заслужено стала недавно самым привлекательным мегаполисом мира. Из города (даже без учета всех специфик огромного города) сделали конфетку. А если еще учесть, что перед вами гигантская агломерация, то и вовсе восхищает. Чтобы некоторые не говорили положительного о Лужкове, но его Москва была, как мало любимая падчерица в сравнении с тем что стало сейчас.

Это правда. Московские и питерские пенсионеры чувствуют себя прекрасно с хорошей пенсией, доплатами и большой московской/питерской социалкой: ездят на метро и не мечтают о Майбах, покупают продукты в Ашане, а не ходят в мичелин рестораны, не ездят в отели 5*, а пользуются ВВ; гуляют в парках, а не ходят на престижные спектакли... В таком возрасте это воспринимается спокойно.

Летом ЖКХ съедает тысячи 2, зимой подрастает максимум до трех. при таком раскладе и 20 000 тысяч вполне нормальная зарплата. На том же Западе ЖКХ съедает более половины дохода. И это я еще про налоги не сказал :). Вообще, своё жилье - очень серьезное подспорье.

Вот уж человек вместе с женушкой своей, присосавшейся к строительным подрядам (от чего она в итоге давно самая богатая женщина РФ), пытался зарабатывать на всем чем можно. Для которого деньги всегда были в большем приоритете, чем довольство людей. А вот при Собянине она стала самым красивым мегаполисом мира. А того уровня чистоты и вовсе даже города по меньше далеко не все могут показать (а если сравнивать с соразмерными, на фоне Москвы и вовсе выглядят форменными помойками). А с такой скорость, с какой строятся станции метро в Москве, даже в СССР не строили. Это в плане удобства. А такие вещи, как трехкилометровая очередь на выставку Серова (в 2016, причем ЗИМОЙ)? Это уже в плане культуры. Что-то при Лужкове я такого не припомню. А та же Никольская, в центре Москвы, уже успевшая стать "меккой" для туристов со всего мира и не только их? Это вам не Лужковские дешевые киоски и развалы, засравшие всю Москву (зато копеечка за них градоначальнику капала) . И такого полно. Мест отдыха при Собянине в Москве стало так же заметно больше, чем при Лужкове.

Thank you for another great video, Alina. Moscow has changed so much since 2000 and since the "new" mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, was elected in 2013 the city that used to be intimidating has become the most livable large city I have ever seen in travels to 91 countries. The access on foot has greatly improved so when I visit, I avoid cars and. Traffic is not as bad as it used to be and the increase in pedestrian only streets makes it easy to stay car'less. But there are too many cars as in all cities so the trend to ban private cars burning gas or diesel will surely come to Moscow and all major cities. It is a lot mire expensive to live and keep a car in Moscow compared to my adopted home of St Petersburg where it is possible to have a really good life for $1200 a month but if, like most people, even young people, they own their apartments free of any debt so most of income goes to going out socializing, travel, cultural performances, dining etc. There is a Depot style food court in St Petersburg with 67 restaurants from around the world that is great and much lower price. Eat Market is located on the 5th and 6th floor of the city center shopping mall Galeria next to Moscow train station. After living in San Francisco and then years in its pricier neighbor Marin just over the Golden Gate Bridge, both St Petersburg and Moscow offer a much better quality of life and at lower cost so much more time can be spent enjoying the vast cultural and social options that just are not available in the US, plus much safer, friendlier and without the division and anger that permeates the current day US. There is a lot more personal freedom now in Russia than Europe or north America. That is why I moved to Russia 20 years ago.

Девушка правильно сказала, что темп в Москве быстрый и вот машина в этот темп никак не вписывается. Просто вообще никак! Самый быстрый транспорт это метро, альтернатив в Москве ему нет!!!

So true. I loved cars when I lived in California since having one meant you could live, without one it was almost not possible. But in big cities like Moscow and St Petersburg, it is much better not to have a car and when all electric robotaxi arrive in 2-3 years all large cities will ban private cars. Life in cities would instantly become very much better and lower cost healthier and more pleasant. I have not driven my car in 19 years after moving to St Petersburg and quality of life and the efficiency of getting around using low cost public transportation, foot and the great Metro system just makes life easier and lowers cost thousands of dollars a month.

Great city and great people. Although the media in the west portrays Moscow as the center of evil, you will straight discover that it's not true. First I also believed that they wouldn't like western people or anything american made, but soon I saw the mc Donald's, I heard the same american music and saw the same American movies on the cinema. Hey, interesting comment! I'm an American myself, so I'm used to our US media portraying Russia as a corrupt, and outright dangerous place, but I take it with a grain of salt. Every country has it's share of problems of course, but I know our media is very biased. And while I'm not sure how to feel about the Russian government (it seems fairly corrupt to me, but that's the view of an outsider who may be very ignorant of the subject) I know one thing for certain. Every Russian I have ever met has been very friendly and caring. I live and work in a tourist area that gets many Russian exchange workers every season, and they have always been incredible to me. It doesn't hurt that Russian women are incredibly beautiful as well lol. I've never been to Moscow, or Russia in general, but I would love to see it someday.

I traveled to Moscow for a week in 2018 to see the Victory Day Parade. May is such a beautiful month to visit all the trees are in bloom and you see tulips everywhere and the weather was perfect in the 80's. The city is clean, no graffiti so many museums of art and Russian history. Lots of young people visit the museums and are intellectually engaged, the children go too for field trips to museums and are introduced to art. 99% of the people are super helpful, go out of their way to point you in the right direction, and that human connection with the locals is the highlight for me. People are very respectful and aware of the past sacrifices of past generations in the Great Patriotic War as they call WWII. Yandex apps make it easy to travel by metro or translate, you can get sim cards for your phone on a short term basis, I'll definitely be back because there is so much that I didn't see.

Just a note to viewers - when Russians are talking about incomes, they mean after-tax dollars. So that 5000 USD per month Nastia needs to feel comfortable in Moscow means about 110k CAD annually.

it is very good live level for russian, just about 3% of people have this kind of income in Russia, but in Moscow it is not very big, and if you are good top manager, you can do so and much more. Small enterprenuers can do the same. But tipical guys with usual jobs get $800-2000, and $3000 is maximum month income for not managing specialists. In Moscow I think 5-7% of people are have >$5000. And in Russia have very big level of taxes, when you get $5000, your Company spending $9000, and $4000 (about 43%) is tax.

That amount truck me as odd, in that it seems abnormally high. I know nothing about living in Moscow, so I can very well be wrong, but in the US, $5k USD a month is A LOT of money and far more than the average person earns. And the only cities in the US where I feel you would "need" that much to live comfortably are NYC, DC, SF, and LA. But even in those cities, the average worker earns less than that typically. Maybe she's accustomed to really "fine things" in life, I don't know lol.

I was in Moscow 5 years ago and was there about 10 days. I concur it can be overwhelming. Novodevichy convent, gorky Park, Red square, arbat street, museum of cosmonautics,cosmonauts, Bazar which i think was izmaylovskiy Bazar, and much more. Spent a week in St Petersburg as well.

Thanks, Alina, for showing us Russia's capital city. Many tourists visit the centre of Moscow around Red Square, and that's fine because it's a beautiful place with so much to do and see. Still, I would recommend going to see VDNKh Park, where you can see recreated archetypal buildings from across the nations that made up the old Soviet Union. You can visit some cities surrounding Moscow to get a more provincial feel. I regularly go to Ryazan for work, a world away from Moscow in its feel and look.

Alina, I enjoyed your Moscow video. I was in this city in Mar 1976, Brejzhnev ‘s time. . Those magnificent glass buildings were not there the nor were many restaurants or fpod stores. The GUM department store was the best then but other stores did not have much. There were special stores for foreign tourists only. Russians were no to shop there and no rubbles could be used. Foreign currency only. I stayed at the Hilton Moscow hotel with huge tall doors. Loved the theater, the circus, the Kremlin, Lenin tomb, Red square, Space museum, Intourist hotel, Subway and more. Loved the city very much and had great time.

Yes, it seemed high. But I was in a small town in Finland yesterday and had a sandwich for lunch from fast food Subway and it was $12 for what in St Petersburg is $5. There is a similar but larger food court in St Petersburg with 67 restaurants and a bit more modern that is a about 1/2 the price Alina and Nastia paid

Насколько я смог увидеть на видео, там было: пара блюд из бобовых, блюдо из риса, фруктовый салат с йогуртом, курица (карри), зелень с домашним сыром, соус карри и лепешки чапати. Количество блюд и сами блюда могут отличаться в зависимости от региона, но главные это: бобовые ("дал"), рис, тушеные овощи ("сабджи"), соус. Порции в Индии чуть больше и стоимость составляет на рубли 80-100 руб, хотя можно найти и дешевле. Конечно, ни о каком пиве к такому обеду или ужину в Индии речи быть не может, там вообще нет такой культуры. Вы оскорбите индийца, если предложите пиво или вино.

I have been primarily based in Moscow for 8 years. It is a high octane city. I liked your video, although you focus on the touristy side of things. I would add that most is an amazing city culturally - top theatre, ballet and modern dance, 3 opera companies, classical and popular music, and great museums and galleries. In that respect I would put it with only New York and London as a cultural center. Restaurants also great and recently Michelin gave out a bunch of stars. Just an amazing intense city, full of energy. Glad you enjoy it although from a different point of view.

Just terrific!! I hope you'll make a video one day that references literary themes primarily. Why? Got caught up in a Russian writer theme during the Covid lockdown. So-o-o many places I'd love to see ( maybe others would too) over there: The Dostoyevsky Steps, the congregation location of the Silver Age poets-Blok and Anna Akhmatova, et al-known as the Stray Dog Café, Tsarskoye Selo, all things Pushkin and, oh, the list goes on and on. And it's fine by me if you just make the videos that you currently are; they're as entertaining as can be.

На мой взгляд Настя абсолютно права, для достойно жизни нужен пятак резаной, она собственно перечислила на что именно, другое дело что на наёмной работе такие деньги получают единицы ну а в целом МСК жирный город и такой доход здесь не редкость. Думаю 5000$ по ППС это 15000$ в Нью Йорке.

Impressive, stylish, futuristic, almost overwhelming. Russia has so much to offer. $5000 a month is a bit steep, there must be many wealthy people that live in Moscow. There are no signs of homeless people living on the street, unlike in the Canada and the US. Thank you for speaking Russian, I understood about 90% of it.

@@AlinaMcleod В России очень мало бездомных , В России без дома не возможно жить зимой , есть бомжи , но они как правело зимой живут в приютах , а летом убегают на " вольные луга". В России бомжи как правело это спившиеся , опустившиеся люди -это произошло с ними по разным причинам. При СССР всем людям государство предоставляло жильё бесплатно , это жильё было государственное , но переходило в пользование людей ( были и кооперативные квартиры , которые принадлежали людям так как люди вносили деньги в их строительство) . При распаде СССР жильё в котором проживали люди государство передало этим людям в личную собственность.
