I am running the stock mic on mine and consistently get good audio reports on this radio with just stock mic, high power and a Comet GP-9 dual band at about 30 ft. The radio is a little qruirky. Sometimes the main will shift sides, the scanning is slow compared to a Yaesu or Icom radio. However, I really like the color display and you can set up each side individually. You can be across the room and when it receives a signal and changes colors you will see it even if you don't hear it. You do have to keep the manual handy if not using it frequently because some of the functions are not intuitive like an Icom. But, I love the dual receive and it also has crossband repeat so I will take my handheld into the garage and still catch the nets while working out there. And it is built like a tank. And the colors are very vivid. Pics don't do it justice. I definitely would buy this radio again.

This is not a review. He does not own or even have access to this radio. He basically reads you a product data sheet.

I have this mobile radio. It works well - have great reports on it and no hint of tinny-sounding TX. The crossband is very handy when I go hiking and use the mobile as the 'remote' transmitter. I don't need any other band or features than this. A lot of radio for the money. I just got another one for my base station. BTW, the picture of the mobile mount in this review is my install/radio; glad that "Everything Ham Radio" liked my install. More pics on my QRZ page. 73. K7GYB

@@Everythinghamradio No, don't mind at all... Glad you found it and put it to use. I was sure surprised though!!! Alinco asked if they could use some of the pics I took of it for promo purposes and I gave permission but haven't seen anything on it as of yet. That was about 3 years ago when I first got the radio and I sent them some pics. You must really get around to find my little pic of my 735 install 😉... Anyhow, it has truly been a good little performer. The only criticism I have is the front end filtering is a little weak and I have to put in just a touch of the combo SQL/Attenuation feature to knock-out some intermod. OK, take care and sub'd your channel and checking out your other well-made vids. 73 - K7GYB

Hi, how can i tx on 136-170mhz. it seems that the default tx freq is 144-147mhz only. any idea how can i tx upto 170mhz. tnx

Hans can typically only transmit on the ham bands. Some radios have modifications that you can do to them to open the transmit but when you transmit out of the bands that the radio is licensed for you are operating outside your license and/or illegally on said frequency so do it at you own risk. As to how to do it, I don’t know, you could search for your radio model and modifications and you might find them. I know the alinco DR-135 I had it was opened up by simply cutting a wire than ran along the bottom of the radio.

is this capable to function as a duplex repeater on the same band, vhf to vhf or uhf to uhf without using a duplexer/controler?
@CurtisMohr4 жыл бұрын
Manny Balila no it will only do cross and repeat. If your transmit and receiver are on the same band on any radio you have to have a duplexer.

Doesn't own the radio, hence all the marketing photos being used. Just reiterates factory specifications and what other reviews say.

You are correct...I do not own this radio...unfortunately being a dad of three in a single income home doesn’t leave me enough money to buy radios to do the reviews and not everyone likes reading the boring specs on a sale page. Sorry you didn’t like the video
