So, if I'm born gay, I am also born a fornicator, an adulterer, a liar, a blasphemer and so on. Regardless of what we are when we're born we need to repent and trust in Jesus.

Your thoughts are part of conciousness. They affect your body and mind and soul and need to be taken seriously and paid attention to. They are certainly part of your identity in Christ. Anything in your body mind and soul can be part of your identity in Christ or not part of it depending on your ability to be self aware enough and turn it over to Christ's ways.

The thing is for me, we all sin and fall short. We are not here to be just sexual people. But when I hit a wall where even though I was doing every single thing I wanted to do I wasn't really happy. I started to seek the Lord, asking Him to show Himself to me. I began to read the Bible ask for clarity, really really seek Him. He will make Himself be found as He promises. I started to want what He wants. It was easy to let go of certain desires. Not easy right away, but easy over time. If you don't seek you can't claim it's not true or hypocritical. If you don't at least try, you just don't want to know. I mean we are talking about eternity. But when you fall in love with Him that's why you want to go to Heaven bc Be is there.

That works for you and I’m glad. Religion wasn’t good for me. Also human beings naturally desire sex, it’s what makes us human. @@renny3816 I take my time to write to you because I care. And because if you are watching a video on want the bible says about Gays is maybe to see what God has to say. I believe the bible needs to confront all of us because in order to participate in Gods holyness and be a child of God we must allow his correction. If we do not allow correction we become bastard and not children. But when God discipline he wont do as parents do, who correct in ways they think is best but when God corrects he will do it perfectly and with what is necessary to make us inpart with his holyness. God corrects because he loves thats why its written “My son, do not take the Lord’s discipline lightly or lose heart when you are reproved by him, for the Lord disciplines the one he loves and punishes every son he receives.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:5-6‬ ‭ And adds “For they disciplined us for a short time based on what seemed good to them, but he does it for our benefit, so that we can share his holiness. No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12:10-11‬ ‭ you’re right when you say the natural human desires sex thats even the bible saids so. “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:2-3‬ ‭ Paul here explains to the church that before they came to Christ they would live according to the desires of the flesh and of the mind(which is emmity against God Roman 8:7 “the mind of the flesh is emnity against God”). He ends the verse by saying that before Christ they were by nature sons of wrath(punish because of sins). But then, “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:4-5‬ ‭ He Goes on to show how we are saved by grace. Although God saw all human in their nature dead to sin because of his great love and rich mercy he freeds us from being sons of wrath by quickening us in Christ Jesus when we are redeemed through the forgiveness of his death on the cross. He quickens us by his Holy Spirit. He imparts in us new life and a new mind. He writes his law in our hearts in which we desire him. He fills us with his love so we are able to do his will. Freeing us from the old nature which is corrupt and dead because of sin and puting it to death by giving us a new nature. We become empowered by the Spirit of God who saves us so that it is by grace through faith(we must believe). May he who boast, boast in the Lord. “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration(new life), and renewing of the Holy Ghost(new mind);” ‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:3-5‬ ‭ “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭ “I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭8:10-12‬ ‭ “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:5‬ ‭ “For the power of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:2‬ ‭ “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ(by his Spirit in believers).” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:16‬ ‭ “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:14‬ ‭ “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9-10, 12‬ ‭ Although you have sexual desires doesnt mean you cant repent like other christians who came to Christ, not one has come withouth needing to repent and turnaway through faith in God grace. In my congregation I have a brother who turned away from homosexuality. And Ive heard many testimonies from other brothers. There was also a sister in my first congregation who was a lesbian. She dressed like a dude and played the figure of the dude in her past relationships but when she converted God changed her mind completely and she now has a husband and two kids. A MUST READ...... FORGET THE Icing...... Ask yourself…..Why would God make you attracted to the same sex??? A.K.A. “God made me this way gay , then God says it’s a sin in the Bible and it’s against His LAW.! You see that’s like being born heterosexual and wanting to sleep with every girl you see, “ EVERYONE of them” and saying “Well God made me this way, a swinger” and It’s Gods fault I’m like this” and now I have to sleep with every girl that comes down my path! Nice try……… As a heterosexual Christian. I have rules too in the Bible to follow as well. It’s not easy for us either, but rules are RULES... none the less. So when I talk to someone for the 1st. time who is in a gay lifestyle. As a Christian I really don’t care about their gay lifestyle!! Really, that’s Right !!! I ask them, “Do you keep ? The Ten Commandments! “Have you lied?” “Have you stolen something that wasn’t yours?” “Have you taken GODS name in vain (by saying G-Damn it ) that’s blasphemy. Exodus 20:12.” “Have you honored your Dad and Mom……Yes..? No..? So with that in mind…. look at it this way…. That’s like being dragged into court for the- crimes of ( Rape, Murder, and Drug pedaling ) and as you’re standing there before a judge of the law, in that courtroom, for these very very Bad crimes and the bailiff says to the judge, “Your Honor, look here this man also has some outstanding parking tickets… Sir you need to throw the book at him today, he’s a BAD man!” See because if a person is living in a homosexual lifestyle that’s just icing on the cake of SIN…. There Lying, stealing, and blasphemy, not respecting there Mom and Dad…. (And that’s only four of ) Ten Commandments broken, that alone will get them right into HELL.! So on the day of judgment, they are Really In Big Trouble and really need Jesus more than you’re telling them! So forget the Icing and Go after the cake of SIN First... like the judge in court did!! And not for the parking tickets…….. Deal with the icing later! So something to think about when talking to others and evangelizing to people about there homosexuality and about Jesus in there life. Thank you my friend for hearing me out and may God bless you as you share with others the word of Jesus, as He has asked us too (Mark 16:15)……. Let it not be said I was silent when needed. Go to the streets and tell others about..GOD JESUS

Another thing is people assume God will just set you free in an instant and it’s done. That can be the case sometimes! Very much so! When God convicted me of my homosexuality, it was pretty instant and I haven’t really struggled much with it in years. However, there’s a reason the Bible continuously reminds us to flee temptation and sin. To be obedient to Gods word even when we are struggling. It is casting down every thought contrary to His word. When we do these things, over time you will be strengthened and empowered to overcome those temptations completely. A big stumbling block is the church as a whole treat this topic like it’s an instant deliverance thing. Although it can be for some, it is not for most. That’s where the church needs to come in and lose the ridiculous “pray the gay away” saying and actually teach Christians with these desires how they can overcome. Teaching about dying to self. Teaching on fasting and prayer. Teaching on obedience and how to flee temptation. Promoting accountability groups. Teaching on holiness and the power of the Holy Spirit within us to help us overcome those temptations. From my own experience, the church as a collective is failing miserably at reaching the gay community. For decades they pushed them into the arms of the devil and now wonder why they don’t want to come to church. It’s time for the church to actually love people and point them to Christ rather than love Christ and point at people. The longer the church is ignorant and grossed out by gay people, the longer we lose our witness to them. It’s so sad the things I’ve heard after telling my testimony. People literally treat their gay friends and family like the plague and they don’t know what to do with them. LOVE THEM. Point them to Christ and LOVE them. Introduce them to our King and savior. Provide an opportunity for them to encounter Jesus and then let Jesus do what He does best, bring transformation. Sorry for my TedTalk😂 My heart just breaks on how the church handles the gay community. Most are too uncomfortable to even talk about it and the ignorant comments I’ve received is confirmation that the church doesn’t know what to do. They come up to me saying “So and so is gay, what do I do?” I’ve never once had someone come up to me and say “So and so is and alcoholic, or adulterer, or liar what do I do?” Do better church. Don’t just say you love the gay community. DO IT. Disciple them. Go out to eat with them. Talk with them. Invite them over to your house. Go out for coffee. Bible study with them. Pray with them. Pray FOR them. Don’t just say “well I love them the same” prove it.

This was excellent! Thank you! I fully agree with you. It seems like the church doesn’t know what to do with this topic so it’s often avoided. People need discipleship, to learn the tools to fight temptation and say no to sin. When a person is convicted of their sin what are they supposed to do if nobody taught them HOW to die to sin and live for Christ?

How terrible it would be to live as if my desires should control me. Simply because you want something, doesn't mean you should go get it: and Christ gives us the freedom to say 'no', rather than leaving us enslaved to sin. Part of how such things chain us, I think, is that we believe another lie: that because we're fulfilling something we desire, that's the way we're happy - and if we don't, we'd be unhappy. Or, rather, that the things we're fulfilling are one of the 'few ways' we actually get relief from the pain around and in us. This assumes that we know everything about our circumstances, about what makes us happy, about how to live, and about how to be free: meanwhile suicide rates and depression rates have been creeping up quite quickly these past two decades.. ---- I don't succeed all the time. But Christ conquers all. Keep up the good work!

When Christ redeemed me I came home and got rid of alot of things in my home, but it has taken years with His help to put away the things buried deep. And placing boundies around my mind. I'm very careful what I watch,read,or listen to. And I have strong sisters in Christ who help. My sexuality is not my identity Jesus Christ is and in Him I am a new creation the old is gone. @Richard Fox Christian straight guys, I would argue, have probably the hardest burden to bear of all when it comes to sexual behavior. Maybe Christian women as well, but everything I've read suggests that men (generally) have a longer period of sexual urges to content with over a lifetime. I'll leave that specific piece for another discussion. . First, we have to constrain our activity only to women. Second, we have to constrain our activity to only one woman at a time: our wife. Third, if we follow the Biblical pattern for marriage, we enter into that monogamous relationship for life. So, I would guess the average Christian man who truly strives for what the Bible calls sexual purity will have 1 or possibly 2 mates throughout a lifetime. To ever have more than one mate, we must pass thru the stage of terrible grief of our spouse dying. That is to say, we remain faith until their death, even through the hardest times. . So when you say "easy for straight people to say" I don't think you truly understand how difficult it really is. . You might wonder, why would Christian men put up with that when all our biological urges are telling us constantly to do the opposite and have all the sex we want with whomever we want? Or maybe you don't really care and think we're all idiots. But I would suggest this: it's because we've found something BETTER than sex. More fulfilling. More satisfactory. More joyful. More important. More critical to being who we are made to be. . That is something you might consider in the future when you hear Christians calling for what we advocate "living a chaste and decent life in word and deed." We're inviting everyone to do one of the hardest thing imaginable because there's a relationship that satisfies more deeply in the end, and his name is Christ Jesus.

The Bible does not condemn homosexuality. But the Bible readily and continually affirms the value of love and partnership. Calling love the fulfillment of the law (Romans 13:10) noting the permanence of love (SoS 8:7) saying that our sexuality is not inherently flexible or a problem (Matthew 19:12), conceding that suppression of affections does more harm than good (1 Corinthians 7:9) and many more things including standing up for the oppressed(psalms 82:3). These are the scriptures and they do not support negligence or suppression.

I have a B.A. in Linguistics and am now pursuing my Master’s at the University of Iceland. With regards to sexuality and other topics, there are many things that are consistently mistranslated, be it intentional or otherwise. 1. The use of plural pronouns with reference to God. Many who read the English translations assume that passages like “in our image we made them,” justify a belief that God was speaking to angels or even Jesus before he was incarnate. This, however, is incorrect, as the original texts written in Hebrew utilize a plural nominative case reserved for those in positions of power. So God is merely talking about himself in the plural. This mistranslation (or rather, translation with modern English speakers not understanding the context of plurals as a form of reverence toward a king or ruler) is perpetuated throughout the Old Testament. 2. The reference to man laying with another man found in Leviticus 18. Levitican law was created during this time and served to help the Jews maintain their cultural identity despite collocation with Canaanites and Egyptians. At the time, a fertility goddess was revered by the pagans, and in order to sow good crops, they would enter the temple and have sex with the males in the temple. The Levitican law discussing men laying with other men most likely references this practice. In other words, the practice of revering this fertility goddess was the issue. There’s really no need for them to go into further detail because everyone at the time knew what they were referring to. 3. The use of “abomination.” The original text uses the word “to’evah” meaning “taboo” or “not of our culture.” This is much different that saying something is an abomination. So, I’d read in the appropriate context and translation, we could read Leviticus 18:22 as “don’t go into the temple and worship that goddess by sleeping with the men inside, that’s not what we as Jews do.” 4. Eve created from the “rib” of Adam. Firstly, there are two creation stories in Genesis. The story in which God splits Eve from Adam is quite interesting because in the original text, the sex of Adam is never discussed UNTIL the split of Adam and Eve from the same body. Adam, itself, is a pun from the Hebrew “adamah,” or ground. So the first “being” was called “groundling” in a way. When Eve was pulled from this “Adam,” the original text uses the word “tsela,” which translates twelve more times in the Bible as “side” or “mountainside.” Only in THIS context has it been translated as rib. Who did this you ask? It was first mistranslated like this in the Septuagint. Modern translators know this is an error, but we continue doing it. Now. Isn’t it a bit different to say “the androgynous being was pulled apart from its side and became man and woman?” Yes. Yes it is very different. It is different in the sense that woman does NOT come from man, but rather they are both separated from ONE hermaphroditic creature.

I'm just going to address point #2. Here is Leviticus 18 for greater context. It is regarding laws prohibiting many different sexual relations, whether with close relatives, men having sex with men (v 22), and finally humans having sex with animals. This is not 1 lone verse that could be referring to temple practices. This is very explicitly an entire passage regarding sexual relations that specifically prohibits homosexual (men with men sexual) relations among other sexual practices. To reinterpret this passage as referring to temple practices would be inaccurate: 6 “‘No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the Lord. 7 “‘Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; do not have relations with her. 8 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your father’s wife; that would dishonor your father. 9 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere. 10 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter; that would dishonor you. 11 “‘Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father’s wife, born to your father; she is your sister. 12 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your father’s sister; she is your father’s close relative. 13 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister, because she is your mother’s close relative. 14 “‘Do not dishonor your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual relations; she is your aunt. 15 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; do not have relations with her. 16 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your brother’s wife; that would dishonor your brother. 17 “‘Do not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daughter. Do not have sexual relations with either her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter; they are her close relatives. That is wickedness. 18 “‘Do not take your wife’s sister as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is living. 19 “‘Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her monthly period. 20 “‘Do not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife and defile yourself with her. 21 “‘Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molek, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the Lord. 22 “‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable. 23 “‘Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.

I looked up some verses that answer what the Bible says about homosexuality. I'm not sure about the different versions. If you have a Bible- NIV or ESV, those are good and accurate. I grew up reading the Good News Bible. I can give you verses, but it's good to read the whole chapter to get context. In Genesis God creates the world and the first man, Adam, and God says, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him." Someone who will compliment him, but also be a lifesaver to him. And He makes Eve. This is from chaper 2 of Genesis. In verse 24 it says, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife and they shall become one flesh." This speaks to the natural way in which God made a man and a woman fit together. This is God's desire in a marriage/sexual relationship- for us to enjoy and stay within the boundaries in which He made us. And if we don't, there will be consequences. One story of the consequences is in Genesis 18:16-33, and 19:1-29. God destroys Sodom. Then in Leviticus 18:22, 21:13. Both chapters list sexually immoral acts and in chapter 21, lists the consequences for these acts. Deuteronomy 22:5 talks about cross-dressing. These are from the Old Testament, written by Moses from God to the Israelites when they were in the dessert, during the foundation of their nation. God wants to be near the people He has rescued, but they need to be pure in their acts towards Him and to each other. Romans 1:18-32 (particularly verse 27), 1Timothy 1:1-11 (particularly 10), and 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. These are New Testament verses written in letters by Paul to different churches and to his young friend Timothy. These continue to list sins (that we all struggle with, including envy, jealousy, gossip- we all have sin), but these verses also state we are free from these sins when we belong to Christ Jesus and we repent (turn away 180 degrees from these sins). God longs for a relationship with us (with a love so strong He sacrificed His own life for this relationship) and trusting Him with our whole lives and His natural order of things is part of that relationship. He even gives us help to overcome these sins by sending The Holy Spirit to help us. He loves us and doesn't want us to be lost without Him. I hope these help answer your question.

20. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (Romans, 1) That's from the new testament. In the mosaic law, it says 13. If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus, 20) 22. Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. (Leviticus, 18) So YES! THE SCRIPTURE DOES NOT LIE! it's confusion and abomination and is of the devil. Howbeit, we all sin. Every day until we die we fight the old nature of the natural man and the new nature of the Holy Spirit (anyone who believe on christ alone and not of works is born again of incorruptible seed) God hates ALL sin. all sin seperates us from him. One lie is just as bad as murder to God. However once you are saved and born again of God. Secure in the arms of the Lord Jesus christ; you ought not live a lifestyle of sin but it happens. The issue is homosexuality is a lifestyle choice as well as an act in this society. And that they take it on as an identity and demand "equal rights". God doesn't make mistakes. We are born sinners because Adam sinned, but we are not born and forced by biology to be gay. It's a conscious choice to pursue it. Everyone who's ever lived at some point has had the thought cross there mind. But some people can't see it for what it is and give way. And once the devil gets hold, he wants more and more. The good news is that despite any sin, small or great, WILL be forgiven if you come to Jesus as a worthless, hell bound sinner and place your COMPLETE faith in his death, burial, and resurection. Come through the cross, that's the only way to God is by what his begotten Son did for you. You, personally he did die. It is very simple to be saved and takes only a minute to explain. Please let me show you how to get to Heaven from the Bible, God's Word... Man is a Sinner in the Eyes of a Holy God. Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”Romans 3:19, “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.”John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”Romans 3:10, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” There is a Price For Our Sin―Burning in Hell Forever. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”Romans 5:12, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”2nd Thessalonians 1:8, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.”Revelation 20:15, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Jesus paid that price by dying on the cross and shedding His blood; Christ was buried and bodily rose again the third day! Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”1st Timothy 1:15, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ...”1st Corinthians 15:1-4, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” This is the Gospel. By faith in Jesus Christ ALONE we are immediately saved.Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”John 11:25, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”John 6:40, “And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”1st Corinthians 3:11, "For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Salvation is NOT found in a religion or good works, but in a Person... The LORD JESUS CHRIST! Simply BELIEVE the Gospel and You Are Saved! The Heresy Of Having To “Pray” To Be Saved Fundamentalist Heresy! (In this awesome sermon by Pastor Jack Hyles, he explains that prayer, turning from sins, inviting Jesus into your heart, and other popular clichés are not necessary to be saved. They are not wrong to do, just so long as you don't do them to get or stay saved!) My friend, for most of my Christian life I have led people to pray a sinner's prayer to be saved. Although this is not wrong to do, it is an extra step that the Bible does NOT require, which may confuse some people. You don't have to “ask” Jesus to save you, because God has already promised “TO SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE” (1st Corinthians 1:21). We read in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life” [emphasis added]. The way to be saved is to BELIEVE THE GOSPEL!!! Do you admit that you are a GUILTY sinner, under the condemnation of God's LAW, deserving of Hellfire? Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God (God in the flesh) who died upon the cross, sacrificing His precious blood to pay for your sins? Do you believe that Jesus was buried and bodily resurrected three days later? This is the Good News of the Gospel... Jesus DIED ON THE CROSS, He was BURIED and He is RISEN! Believe it friend, make it your only hope for eternal life, and you are saved!!! Amen! To be saved you simply come to God by faith, as a guilty sinner, and BELIEVE the Gospel. You must know that you are a sinner. No man ever got saved who didn't know that he is a sinner. Repentance is that thing when you come before God and see yourself as you are, and see Him as he is, and say with Isaiah “Woe is me, for I am unclean!” Repentance is simply a change of mind, where you admit that you are a woeful sinner totally incapable of saving yourself. Thus, you believe the Gospel (Good News) of the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.

It is so disingenuous to pretend that “pray the gay away” is some unfair caricature. Those organizations have existed for decades and have the blood of thousands on their hands. These are the scriptures and they do not support negligence or suppression. Pretending that gay people are an unbiblical concept completely ignore the reality of the biblical text and the visible reality. Presuming the sinfulness of gay sexual & romantic expression while excusing your own sexual & romantic expression is the heighth of hypocrisy.

Leviticus 18:22 Leviticus 20:13 Romans 1:24-32 1 Corinthians 6:9 1 Timothy 1:10 The verses you have attempted to use in support of your indefensible position have no bearing on this matter, and certainly do nothing to affect the clarity and authority of the above scriptures. Does not the very design of the human body tell us that sexual union is between the man and the woman, not other combinations? Try as we might, we will NEVER justify what God has forbidden. Love is what God says it is, and not our redefiniton of it.
@Grokford
@Grokford 2 жыл бұрын
@@deniss2623 are you serious? You’re going to discount scripture for no stated reason and then make a physical determinist argument‽ The shape of the human body is irrelevant in determining the morality of what we do with it. The human hand might be the perfect size to strangle a goose or hoist an axe but that doesn’t mean that it’s the correct moral decision to do so. And this is very fortunate for your claim because the most important sexual organ for male reproduction(the prostate) and the most important sexual organ for female sexual stimulation (the clitoris) correlate to the habits of gay sex. That is to say that the prostate is internal and the clitoris is largely external. So kindly remove any personal theories about the nature of the genders when you’re discussing moral condemnation. .. Now the Levitical passages are interesting as the translations make incorrect implications and cover the ambiguity of the original text. I’d be happy to discuss how if you like but for the sake of time we can skip those because they are a part of the old covenant and not practiced, similar to the prohibitions on shellfish, haircuts and mixed fabrics. Romans 1 is not applicable to your claim because it is a description of pagan religious practices. You didn’t include verse 23 which says that they also made images of human beings and animals. So unless you also believe that visual art is condemned it’s not really a good support for your interpretation. Furthermore in verse 31 it states that those being described were without love, mercy or fidelity, which automatically excludes most gay people and gay relationships. 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 1 Timothy 1:10 both suffer from the same problem. Incorrect word choices. The original Greek words sometimes translated as “homosexual”(a term invented in the 19th century) are μαλακοὶ (malakoi) and ἀρσενοκοῖται (arsenokoitai). The former is unambiguously a reference to male temple prostitution that existed in Corinth, but up until recently the translation “male prostitutes” (as used in the NLT, ISV & NRSV translation) implied heterosexual prostitution. But of course simplifying the activity to homosexual sex leaves out the temple prostitution which is a fair bit more important. The latter (arsenokoitai) is of unclear meaning, there is no sure translation. Records of contemporary use are limited but it was a pejorative term and was usually, but not always, sexual in nature. It is sometimes translated as pederast. Pederasty was a mentorship practice that was often abusive and pedophilic in nature. It was also the most common, public and known homosexual practice in the Greek Mediterranean, which is not mentioned elsewhere in the Bible. We don’t know what it means, but it isn’t “homosexual” as the concept is anachronistic to the time period. Simply assuming a meaning to support a narrative of condemnation of homosexuality is introducing meaning to the scripture that likely isn’t there, even if it’s ambiguous. … Interestingly enough none of these passages in any translation mention homosexual behavior from women, not unless you assume that the only unnatural sexual behavior women can participate in is homosexual sex. Which isn’t supported by scripture or Roman context and frankly lacks imagination. So really all we’re talking about is the men. … Now that I’ve explained why your cited verses aren’t applicable to support of your claim would you care to explain why any my interpretations of scripture previously mentioned are invalid. And I’d caution you from arguing based on the assumption that gay relationships are fundamentally different.

Your circuitous and misguided attempts to evade the plain teaching of the Word are futile - it is still confronting you. Extraordinary how we refuse to see the obvious. The Lord Jesus Himself, God incarnate, emphasised that marital union was between one man and one woman, as it has been since the creation. Anything else was a sin in God's eyes, a violation of His law. This IS the context! Try as we will, we cannot get past it. Better realise this sooner rather than later. We have already lost the argument. P.S. "arsenokoitai" has a VERY clear meaning, doesn't it?

The Bible is oppressive to the flesh because we are slaves to righteousness (Romans 6) What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! 16 Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey-whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching that has now claimed your allegiance. 18 You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. 19 I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. 20 When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21 What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[b] Christ Jesus our Lord.

You appear to have missed the point and context of the story. The Pharisees and scribes were not calling the woman to repent, they were not telling her to return to the Lord or to walk in His ways, they were trying to kill her. (They were doing so illegally by the way as both parties should have been stoned so they were set to murder her.) Throwing a stone to kill someone (as the Pharisees did) is very different than calling them to repentance (which is what John the Baptist and all the prophets before him taught as well as Jesus and his disciples). Jesus’ point wasn’t that her sin was okay, it was that their sins were just as bad as hers. But even so none of that is the key part of the story. Verse 11 John Chapter 8 is the key to the story where Jesus tells her that he does not condemn her (meaning to death) but that she should “go and sin no more”. This story isn’t about not judging people at all, it’s a word picture of what Christ would do for all of us. Just like for the woman Christ has interfered for us when we face judgement and protected us from condemnation and eternal death, but just like the woman we are to be forever changed by our encounter doing our best to sin no more. Also what does Jesus say the most important commandment is “you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind.” Jesus later says “If you love me, keep my commandments.” God’s commandments regarding homosexuality are quite clear. Practically speaking how are we to learn what is sin and what we are to repent from without other people throwing stones as you claim? Especially when most Christians do not thoroughly read or study the Bible and even those who do can be blinded by their own sin. Is it throwing a stone to tell the addict they need to get clean? Is it throwing a stone to tell a liar that they need to start telling the truth? Or is it only a stone when it hits uncomfortably close to home?

@TGuard00014
@TGuard00014 3 жыл бұрын
@@cutekoala The problem with that is without God to define what and how to love, then respect and love are completely subjective. You don’t want a world where everyone prioritizes love and respect, you want a world where everyone prioritizes your version of love and respect. But why should your definition of love and respect be the standard? Behaviors you would consider inappropriate if not down right atrocious can be someone else’s version of love and respect. For example, why do you think so many women in Africa hold down their daughters, nieces, granddaughters, and other girls to perform FGM? It’s not because they hate those girls, it’s because they love them. They love the girls and in their culture without FGM they will not be able to get married, to have children, they will have no status and be persecuted. They love their daughters and express it in a way that horrifies the civilized world. Let’s look at a less extreme example, arranged marriage. The idea of a romantic love between two people is nothing more than a dogma. If a girl wants to show she loves and respects her parents and family then surely the best way to express that is by doing what they want and marrying whoever they choose? The parents don’t hate their daughters. If you speak to a parent about their daughter’s or son’s arranged marriage the vast majority won’t say, I really hate my kid so I married them off to the first available option. Instead they will say they love their child and want them to be respected and the best way to accomplish that is through an advantageous marriage. They will point to the high divorce rate in western counties to show that the heart is fickle and marrying for love a foolish western notion. You want a world where everyone prioritizes your westernized version of love and respect, unfortunately we have confused love and respect for indulgence. We think you love and respect someone by supporting their every choice and always being in agreement but that’s not love. My addict cousin may not feel loved when I tell him I’m not helping him out until he gets clean, but it’s an action taken out of love. He may not feel loved, he may not feel respected, but he’s not going to overdose on drugs my money bought. It’s not loving of me to wait hand and foot on my child giving him his every want and need and smoothing every bump in the road for him, because some day his life will be beyond my ability to fix and he won’t have the skills to handle those difficulties that arise. Instead I discipline him when he hurts other people, I teach him how to work hard and overcome, even if along the way he feels disrespected or unloved because his desires weren’t granted. Confusing indulgence with love comes with drastic consequences, especially when eternity is concerned. Because Christianity isn’t dogma, it’s a personal relationship with the author of love and life and yes, the Bible is an ancient text, but it’s so much more. The Bible is a love letter from the Creator to his creation and it shows us what it means and how we are to show love and respect. We show love by sacrificing ourselves and our comfort for others, but not for their happiness or for their health or safety but for their eternity. Telling someone they are living in unrepentant sin is an act of love. A Christian that supports sin isn’t loving they just don’t care enough to deal with the stress of a confrontation. Loving correction of a sin is like taking the keys from a drunk driver, it can be uncomfortable and can cause a rift in the relationship but it can also save a life. I’m not going to pretended that Christians always or even mostly do this well. It is always easier to see sin in someone else’s life than in your own. Some sins are simply more visible than others especially to the outside world and it’s easier to condemn more blatant sin and ignore covert sin. A big part of the problem is that loving correction is a skill that takes practice and we don’t teach it and we don’t practice it so it never gets developed.

If they want to honor the Lord and pursue a romantic relationship it has to be one with the opposite sex. Otherwise, they should remain single. Heterosexual persons remain single without ever being in a romantic relationship all the time.

Not necessarily, because God can change a person’s attractions. He has done that before, he can do it again. Nothing is impossible with God. However, wether a person gay/straight lives their whole life as a single or eventually is called to marry somebody, there is one thing that is 1000 times more satisfying than any romantic relationship ever will be. I’m talking about our relationship with God himself through Christ. It’s hard to explain to somebody who have never experienced it, but imagine a relationship where you feel completely loved, accepted, appreciated and valued every day. I’m happily married but let’s be honest, my husband doesn’t make me feel valued, appreciated and completely loved every day of my life, because he’s only human. It is only in my relationship with God that I will ever feel completely loved, secure, appreciated and cared for every single day of my life. I have a great husband who is both loving and supportive, but still, only God’s love for me stays the same every day. God’s love is both unchanging and everlasting. People can hurt you and come and go but God’s love for you will never end. Nothing in this life will ever be more satisfying for the human heart and soul than a close relationship with God. ❤️

To all of you heterosexual Christians reading this post, would you give up your wife, husband, girlfriend, or boyfriend? Would you change your sexual orientation to homosexual if that is what God demanded from you? Would you live alone for the rest of your life if that was your only chance of heaven when you die? Maybe you would do any or all of those things in order to be acceptable to God, and if so, more power to you. I am a gay man, and I am not willing to live my life without a loving partner by my side. Matt. 5.29 is what came to mind when I saw your post. Foundationally, we should be investing in Christ's kingdom, not this one and its priorities. Paul even said (for example) that to be there is "far better." Just a thought. Christ drew a line in the sand. We either follow Him all the way, or none of the way. I don't just preach that. I strive to always look at myself first. There's a number of things that I've given up for His sake.

It doesn’t matter how much you think you love Jesus, if you truly love Jesus, then you will obey his commandments, which are the commandments of God the father, as Jesus confirms this himself. God is waiting for you to come to Jesus fully, you have to deny yourself and give your whole life to Jesus, that means even being single all your life, or getting married to a man. There is no in between. My sister is gay, I love her, but she will have to choose Jesus and all his commandments or she can choose her own life, but that life leads to death and destruction, only through Jesus do we have the chance to be saved for an eternal life of love, peace, joy, happiness eternal knowledge and things that we can’t imagine yet. I wish the two people presenting this video could realise that the consequence of following their evangelical beliefs around sexuality isn’t some abstract theological issue about right and wrong or owning the libs. This is real peoples lives and the stakes are so high. Your telling 10% of the worlds population they must be alone their entire life. Your enforcing celibacy on a huge percentage of the population In the name of God. A celibacy that you don’t have to follow, you can get married. Look at just how disastrous enforced celibacy is on the catholic priesthood and the astronomical levels of sex abuse there. If your theology is so 100% correct around human sexuality then why has every single ex gay ministry failed? I wish you’d understand how high the stakes are. I’ve sat with to many gay people who were pressured into straight marriages and later in life whose lives are ruined because they followed theology like the one espoused here. Do you realise how high the stakes are?

@Liveintheadventure
@Liveintheadventure 3 жыл бұрын
That’s not the point they are making here. They are not talking about not giving into sexual desire, period. They are talking about giving into WRONGFUL sexual desire. It is a common misconception that Christians believe in denying sexuality as a whole. Sure there are some radical legalistic sects that might, but that is not biblical. God created us with sexual attributes. They are a part of us, however they are NOT our whole identity and that is what our current culture is promoting. “Make the sexual part of you your whole identity or the main part of your identity. Let your sexuality determine how you live and present yourself.” But we are more than our sexuality and do not need to let our sexual desires control us. God created us with the capacity for sexual desire that is to be fulfilled in the context of marriage between a husband and wife and thus how more humans are made. That is not wrong or sinful. That is how God designed it! It’s literally in the beginning verses of the first book of the Bible in Genesis. Sexual desire and sex in marriage is beautiful and celebrated in the Bible. The book Song of Solomon is all about that. HOWEVER, any sexual desires or acts that go outside of that context are wrong, because it degrades and cheapens sex to “adult recreation” or a bought and sold commodity instead of the sacred act of bonding physically, emotionally, and spiritually in marriage that God designed it to be.
