Another great vid. There is a lot of oil emulsion or some such coming off the eccentrics at 5:16. What's happening there do you know ? These vids of the Shays on their own are somehow better than watching a diesel towing the Shays around. It would be good to see a Shay with three full coaches just once at least . . .

Thanks for watching. I'm not sure what that (05:16) problem is. Maybe it's caused by excess lubricant. It is rare to see the SL31 operating alone. The drivers said that pulling 3 carriages would make it difficult for them to control the train.

@@fpk1234 There's a lot of fluid shooting out. Looks like water getting unto the lub pots . . . I guess the three carriages control issue is during the descent. They seemed to be running slower downhill . . Maybe they don't have proper train break equipment - but a single Shay used to take several heavily loaded bolsters all the way down to sea level . .
