I AM A 56 YEAR OLD SURVIVOR OF EXTREME CHILD ABUSE AND IT DOES A HELL OF A LOT MORE THAN DAMAGE A CHILD'S SOUL FOR IT DESTROYS YOUR PERSONALITY, YOUR SEXUALITY, YOUR DEVELOPMENT AND YOUR TRUST IN ADULTS AND IN SOME CASES, SEXUAL ABUSE CAN TURN A CHILD INTO A MONSTER WHO THEN GOES ON TO ABUSE OTHER CHILDREN AND THAT IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. THEN YOU HAVE THOSE WHO WILL NOT ABUSE ANOTHER CHILD BUT WHO INSTEAD AND THIS IS THE ROUTE I TOOK, WILL THEN TURN ON THEMSELVES AND IMPLODE WHICH LEAD ME TO A LIFE OF SELF HATRED AND TO A POINT WHERE I DID NOT WANT TO LIVE ANYMORE SO I TOOK A COCKTAIL OF ECSTASY, COCAINE AND HEROIN BUT I SURVIVED MY ORDEAL AND WITH THE SUPPORT OF OTHERS I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO MOVE ON WITH MY LIFE, WHICH IS AN OPPORTUNITY THAT SADLY MANY OTHER VICTIMS DO NOT GET SO THEY FALL BY THE WAYSIDE AND EITHER FALL INTO CRIME OR END UP COMMITTING SUICIDE.

Michael Landon didn't play. He made sure the children were so well disciplined. When Jason Bateman and the Little Girl who played Cassandra joined the show Matthew Laborteaux who played Albert told them that when they are not doing a Scene, they must go to The Schoolhouse ASAP. These Children probably were told your success isn't going to last forever, enjoy it while you can. The Actress who played Nancy got a Degree in Business Administration. I also heard that Jimmy McNichol (Kristy's Brother) was fired for misbehavior. Do the Cast get Residuals aka "Royalties" from The Show.

Oracles Angels Shift All I agree. When I was doing my student teaching internship a kindergartner spilled syrup all over her and they told me to go take her to this dark closet and strip her naked clean her then dress her. I said "what? We should call her mother" they said no and I had to do this and the whole time I was telling the child "I'm just going to clean the syrup off and get you new clothes to wear", because she had no idea what was happening. They just met me the week before! That stuck with me forever. Now I tell my children about it and tell them never ever go into a room alone with anyone..

Problem is, many parents treat these agents/managers/etc the same way they would teachers, tutors, drivers, nannies, healthcare professionals, cops... these people know how to communicate the inconvenience of having you around, especially when you have other obligations like work and other children. Predators will disguise themselves as nannies with a bonus... parents will often say they suspected that person the least of all, especially because their child really SEEMED to like them!... nobody wants to teach their child to be paranoid. They should teach them how to be vigilant, how to escape (because fighting back could be dangerous) and how to be open and honest about everything with someone they trust

@@mrcooper7027 you do realize that you don't have to be a member of a special club to be a sexual deviant don't you? A sexual deviant could be a member of a club or not, they could be black or white, they could be rich or poor, they could be well connected or a loner, they could be religious or an atheist. A child is more likely to be abused by someone who they know, a family member, a family friend, a neighbor, a coach, a teacher, etc. I know that there are a lot of conspiracy theories against the masons but you sound so damn insensitive. Instead of going to a local freemason temple/lodge and getting the inside scoop yourself you ask this person if their abuser was a mason. 🙄

Lisa Martinez I think a lot of times they got caught up in the glitz and glamour and believe the things people tell them because they’re just hoping for the best. They see these people as doing great things for their children and can’t imagine otherwise. But parents cannot afford to be this naïve. Also, I’m sure some of them do know, and I agree with your comment.

Even if it’s not for fame. Many parents are simply too trusting or naive to how prevalent this is. Sports illustrated ran a very scary two part interview about 15 years ago...the mind of a child molester. This guy was a baseball coach and over a period of 20 years molested by his count at least 150 kids. He told of how easy it was and how in many cases parents brought the kids to him unwittingly. He mainly molested boys but also got girls too. He got kids at park, shopping mall and amusement park bathrooms. He talked about how parents don’t pay attention to their kids. He went through how he groomed the kids...and kids from single parent homes were much easier Targets because the mother was looking for a male role model, or single moms looking to date let their sons hang out w him. Some of these guys also earn the trust of the public, coaches, important businessmen, clergy so if things leak out, people are less likely to believe it. It was very methodical and the grooming process w the kid and getting the trust of the parent could take over a year.
