Some skills can’t be taught. Alison Krauss was born to make beautiful music as was Glen Campbell. I’m thankful for both of these American treasures.

Alison has been my absolute favorite vocalist - since I first heard her angelic voice on CMT 25 years ago. Seeing her in concert is a genuine treat. She's so funny and miles away from ever being a diva. So nice and entirely modest, despite her pages and pages of top awards.

I've been sitting here trying to think of something to say about Alison, that somebody hasn't already said. Especially about the absolute voice of an angel. And I've come up with nothing. Nothing, other than I love her.

Being one of the most covered songs of all time, it is interesting to hear the different tempos that Gentle on My Mind is played. Campbell sped it up from Hartman's original version. Molly Tuttle's Bluegrass version is blazing fast. Allison K. is the slowest I've heard. Great Song no matter the tempo.

@quitebonkers2 ай бұрын
@@patricksmith4424 Regrettably you are mistaken. This song is best sung slowly, and I know of no other artist who sings it at this tempo - e'en this is a bit too fast. Glen Campbell's, though skilfully played, is way too quick.
@patricksmith44242 ай бұрын
@quitebonkers There is a clip on youtube where the writer, John Hartford, sings and plays it bluegrass style. John said it was always a bluegrass song, but Glen who was a fantastic country musician himself, managed to pop it up. Blue grass is always more up tempo as it comprises of violins and Banjos. The lady is singing it in a modern style which I don't like anyway and is inappropriate for the lyrics.

@gilbertolinger3874 Жыл бұрын
@@markshurson7107 The Band Perry did an Awesome 😎 job on the song. The song itself is a GREAT song so therefore anyone with talent can do a great job. Then it becomes apples/oranges..... chocolate/vanilla..... whoever YOU think done the best and everybody has that right as Americans, or as "people" worldwide. For ME, it's Alison Krauss. And I respect YOUR opinion, too.
