My wife Lora had an aneurysm rupture , June 2020. Now paralyzed and cognitively impaired. We went to Myrtle Beach every year with the kids and now it can't ever happen again. Our wedding song is 'When You Say Nothing At All' by Alison Krouse. We saw her live in Wilkes Barre on our 20th anniversary. This is the most bittersweet thing to hear. I'm a wreck. My wife is not physically gone but I still miss her enormously She will never recover. If you are married don't take your spouse for granted.

I feel when I woke today " dear mother Mary intercede for me today & send me a voice of profound truth So I soo long for my home " Carolina, I ach, for my ppl,I feel so unguided😢 🙏 , + I feel I've inflicted so much / to much pain on my ppl ;( I've been unwell for 20+ years... I feel extremely enlightened by your authentic (perhaps, not realizing your angel light presence?) Your sharing and Allysons" Carolinia " song I'm up I've made it down 13 steps & I'm on the porch with all God's lil' creatures😅 So I bow to you & your beloved and she does know your there even when it doesn't appear so !!! You'll be on & in the same sphere... Perhaps not in your illusionary...state as we all grapple with the daunting idea if death & dying however we will all succumb to illness & death from this body However consciousness lives beyond this world " so water the good memories with your beloved, put a match to the notcsobgood thoughts & remain simply in the min. To min. Beach, as that's all it basically comes down too... The gift of the " NOW " = THATS WHY I PRAY YOU WILL, love her 👆 Up to the last exhale, and be safe in the silence of the unknowing,as it will all be revealed to you in God's timing❤❤❤❤😊🎉

I love this James Taylor song. He wrote it when his father after a phone call for help drove all the way to New York to bring James home so he could deal with his drug addiction. Everytime I hear this song I am reminded that a father's love is the most precious thing. If not the world might have lost one of the best troubadours of our time. I love this version. Alison Krauss has one of the most gorgeous crystal clear voices ever.
@GermanProudly2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for writing of the love of fathers. Much has been written about the love of mothers, but a father's love is deep and powerful, too. It is unique, individual and devoted in ways that are difficult to put into words. A father may be a person of few words, but his connection to his children is often more precious than his own life. Fathers are often misunderstood because they are not often as open about their love for their children as are mothers. Perhaps that is a common fault,.but this story about James Taylor's father speaks volumes about the connection of love he felt with his son.

Man.....that is some kinda perfect voice. Wow. I always loved this song by James Taylor - but her voice takes this thing to an entirely different level. Just beautiful.

Alison K. In my mind singing

I bought one of Alison's CD"s and I woke my daughter super early and went for an early morning, Mommy Daughter Day, and we both sang every song as loud as we could. Had a To-go breakfast and lunch while talked and listened to Allison's CD. One of our Together Memories. Still makes my heart feel good and cry because my daughter "Elizabeth" is grown and we can't do it again, she is making memories with her own kids now.

More musical talent could not be found in one person than there is in Alison Krauss. This lady is amazing.

@@letinhsong8024 I did hear James Taylor sing this song while at the Saratoga Springs performing arts center (SPAC) NY and it was good but I do think Alison's version here is better. Now, nobody could or even should try to cover 'Fire and Rain' because that is just too personal a song and means so much to himself.

Pure magic. Alison's gentle voice, Jerry's dobro.

I can literally never hear Jerry Douglas play without being joyously happy. And can we just take a moment to shout out to Alison Krauss's chops as a fiddler too? There's a whole lot of "songstresses," particularly in country, who never pick up an instrument again once they make it as a vocalist. Alison just gets better and better as a singer and an instrumentalist. This is one of my favourite James Taylor songs and I've fallen in love with it all over again.
