At some of the moments, Morrigan was actually concerned, like about Goldanna and his breakup with the Warden. I get the feel that she wanted to talk with him about what happened and help him vent(especially in breakup one), but Alistair doesn't understand that and attacks her. I like to believe that Morrigan actually care for Alistair

morrigan is prolly one of the most interesting and beloved characters in all of dragon age. as much as i like alistair, morrigan being so smart is just hard to ignore. besides, their dialogue is hilarious. i will admit she is a bit mean, but u kinda hav 2 b 2 b so smart. prolly one of the most civil mean ppl i've ever seen in a game, its almost insidious how she's just always lookin 4 a way 2 insult and mock him. bold, mean, manipulative, blunt, cunning, beautiful, educated, practical, intelligent, unsympathetic, self-controlled - all words that could be applied to her.

In what universe do you need to be mean to be smart? There are plenty of dumb mean people, dumb kind people, smart mean people, and smart kind people. Of course what ''smart'' means here is a little vague. As being capable of true kindness and compassion, empathy and sympathy (not the fake to be liked kind) can be seen as a form of wisdom. And to me widsom is the highest form of intelligence. Not one's ability to study information, use information, or read/manipulate people etc. There are many ways to be smart. Dont confuse arrogance, cockyness, mockery and mean behavior as signs of intelligence. People can be smart despite those flaws, but they certainly aren't because of them. i say that as somebody who loves Morrigan btw and her banter with Alistair is fantastic. Best 2 party members to this day. Most iconic also.

Spoiler for Morrigan's companion quest: I took Alistair, Leliana, and Sten to her 'mother' and agreed to lie to Morrigan about defeating her for the grimoire and Alistair's reaction was fucking great. Was basically "That's fucked up, but I'm a baaad boy." Had Butters vibes tbh lol edit: I found the dialogue. Leliana's is good too (she disapproves of lying to Morrigan, but only because Flemeth is evil so killing her would be good). Alistair: "Yes, fun. Tricking Morrigan... oh, who am I kidding? That does sound fun. I'm a bad man." Leliana: "Not killing Morrigan's mother... that is the more noble choice, right? Right?"

He is highly observant and knows when others try to manipulate him and happily joined the Gray Warden when offered the chance to escape the Chantry. Through all games he continues to improve showing both determination, loyalty and resourcefulness. As King he makes wise decisions making sure to keep all factions pleased and yet not allowing them to gain too much power and influence over him or each other. He shows wisdom, loyalty, humor and fairness. He understands sarcasm and doesn't mind letting others mock him, even though he knows he has the most chances of becoming their King. On short Alistair poses as an idiot while rising to the top to become the King. All this while Morrigan poses as wise, while screwing up and failing to solve the only thing she must solve, finding the worst possible solution to the problem. So much for her being the smart one...
