52:43 "Inequalities" - A couple of points here. Probably when a democracy got the bomb first, we are doomed. We are now in an arms race of sweet talking, that is all the COP 26 was. A one world autocrat could simply remove the human pest from 3-4 continents for 50 years, and problem solved. 99% of human history we were sexual dimorphic (men had larger brains and bodies than the female) and living in the stone age. 99% of the future we will be living in the stone age and become dimorphic again. It is our natural state. Civilizations are inherently unsustainable. Democracy started off with only men voting, now the majority voters are women and are generally left. The tale is wagging the dog.

Interesting video - Militaries train to go against a known State, visiable enemies to defeat and win the conflict with a surrender that is agreed upon by both sides. Afghanistan was a State in name only, no visiable enemy theat from the State but from insurgents both inside and outside the country, fighting their State and us "invaders" to their culture, country and way on life. Building wells, roads, infrastuture only to be destroyed by insurgents and those who support building it for the people is not a country that can be changed to Western culture. A balance of Afghanistans way of life and western ideas was never in the cards - reform to western ideas turned the people against building their future and becoming self sufficient. I have come my own turns - soldiers are soldiers, diplomates and diplomates and the 2 will never work together on the same goals. UN peacekeeping works when the world is behind them to enforce the resolutions out of New York, does not work when their hands are tied to lax enforcement for switching to peace making when needed. Seen too many times the waste of UN resources on individual vehicles, fancy hotels and civilian oversight when the militaries are present. Bosnia failed under the UN, NATO came in and separated the factions and were 100% ready to enforce the Dayton Peace Accord, if those factions did not abide by the terms. Never bring a blue beret to a gun fight. Love to sit down with Alistair with a 6 pack and discuss how we went from 1956 to the present and how the Government has changed our thinking. Cheers and bring on 2022. Pete
