My discernment on the Chronicles of Narnia series:
The Chronicles of Narnia series is filled with biblical allegories and allusions. This book specifically is a retelling of the salvation story of the death and resurrection of Christ through Aslan the Lion. Most importantly, Evil in this series is clearly delineated as pure evil.
We choose not to shield our children but rather to prepare them. Evil is not just found in books or movies about magic- its everywhere. We take these opportunities to discern good vs evil and discuss what God’s word has to say about evil elements and beings. The chronicles of Narnia, is not only good literature, but also opens up discussions about biblical elements.
Every family is different. This is my discernment and I'm equipped to use it in Christian freedom.

Raising our daughter bilingual (as a native speaker). I’m not sure what your goals are with Spanish or what level of proficiency your kids are at BUT I think you’d really like Niños and Nature for their Nature Studies or Beautiful Mundo (literature-based Spanish Curriculum). We already read the books from the Beautiful Mundo book list (free online) and plan to purchase the N&N Nature Studies in the future, she’s still a bit young. ***edit*** Will you be sharing activities for those of us who’ve been lucky enough to get our hands on Math in the Garden? Would love to see how you implement them in your math curriculum.

I hope you don’t only get your children to read why creationism is right and evolution is wrong, only from people who vouch for creationism. If you want your kids to grow up intelligent, have them read about both views, and from both perspectives. Then let them make up their own mind. And when they settle on creationism, they’ll at least have come out the other side much wiser than if "creationism is real and evolution is fake" is all they’ve ever heard they’re whole schooling life.
