Rashid Khalidi is a hero of our time. A brilliant scholar with a real understanding of the issues surrounding the intractable conflict between the Jews and the Palestinians in historical Palestine. His various books on the subject are essential reading. I never tire of listening to him and I am extremely grateful for this excellent interview. Thank you Mr. Hill.

This is the first time I have heard this incredible man speak! I honour him for mentioning the comparison of the plight of his people to the Indigenous Peoples of America. Colonial laws, Manifest Destiny, “Kill the Indian, save the man”. Brave Chiefs such as Manuelito , Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Chief Joseph, Red Cloud, Geronimo and many others; these brave Warriors defended their lands and their people, which mirrors exactly what the brave Palestinian people are trying to do right now and for the last 76 years! Many Reservations are classed as some of the poorest in the US, especially in South Dakota, Rosebud, Standing Rock and Pine Ridge (read the book ‘Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee). Edward Said said Israel has every much a right to exist as does Palestine. Too bad they refused their own state 5 times since 36 and chose this instead. I guess they were never taught the old saying, watch out for what you ask for, because you just might get it. They are getting it now and they won't stop getting it until they return the hostages and surrender Hamas to justice. Anything short of that, is on Hamas's shoulders.

I was truly impressed by Professor Rashid Khalid's commentary and his book is a great look-up for me. I know for sure that Geopolitics assumes the geography of any state like location, topography(land sceneries), population size, and it all affects very significantly the politics of that nation state. (Israel's 8,630 square miles or about the size of New Jersey). In political and economic related issues no one can guess anymore about its Geography to be the source of both opportunities and constraints because of its actions today. Can they really have a two-state political order that won't clash with Language-barriers? (who did not understood because of the language barriers), where communication about the most important goals in any political system: 1-Nat'l Security, 2-Nat'l Stability, and not least, 3- Nat'l Prosperity, Is it all ignored? Can they accomplished at least some Middle East Peace treaties? This is leading to different explanations of a state's behavior toward other states and themselves!

The very sad thing to consider on this genocide is that everything that occurred prior to it is somehow forgot and not mentioned anymore. Yes the genocide is on a scale not seen before on camera, but we must not forget what Israel has done prior to this horrible year. We must not forget that there has been no real peace treaty; as they were violated immediately. We must not forget the world has just watched before and America has always sent money to fund Israel. It's not a genocide. A Genocide requires intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group. 2 Million Arabs live as equal citizens in Israel. The Arab population in the land since 1948 grew more than five-fold from under a million to over 5 million today. The Gaza population increased by 2.02% or 43 000 people since Oct 7th 2023 (source: CIA world fact book). Around 40.000 dead are not a genocide, especially not when nearly half of them are enemy fighters who did hide within their civilian population. The civilian casualty ratio in Gaza is probably 50-70% (roughly 1:1-1:2), which is unheard of in urban warfare. In conflicts like those in Aleppo (Syria) or Mosul (Iraq), the proportion of civilian deaths often ranged much higher, even reaching over 80-90% in some estimates. You simply cannot prove intent with those numbers.

After leaving Jordan, they went to Lebanon, where they attempted to destabilize the government, pushing the country into conflict and trying to overthrow the Maronite Christian leadership in Lebanon. The Palestinians didn’t only target Israel; they also engaged in conflicts with neighboring Arab and Muslim countries. So, leaving aside Israel, even their own people turned against them.

The Arab population in the land since 1948 grew more than five-fold from under a million to over 5 million today. The Gaza population increased by 2.02% or 43 000 people since Oct 7th 2023 (source: CIA world fact book). The world Jewish population today is still below what it was in 1939. Comparing this to the Holocaust in any way for the simple reason you can see some Pallywood videos on TikTok and X/Twitter is nuts. It's a war. If you're really a soldier you should know what this translates to... and it's not a holocaust. It doesn't top the Holocaust in any sense. You're delusional. Kurdish women are currently taken as "Sabīyah" by radical Muslim fighters in Syria... it happens right before your eyes. I'm sure you're already mobilizing to protest this in the streets. unfortunately, the coalescence of mass projection, dehumanization, "soft" violence, lack of justice, the children's books and elementary pedagogy, the full-out cartoonish racism, and the conflated and violent speech and incremental arc of violence, are all on a trajectory. In a nation (US), where we are actively excusing and covering up our own genocides (multiple, over centuries) and chattel slavery (400+ years) and the economic, social, and "cultural" tools and institutions that have been weaponized for the entire history of the US, all occur in cycles, steeping, simmering, seething, erupting - without ever getting at the roots. In a nation that has horrendous amounts of violence and gaslighting and normalization, from our families of origin whose value systems are highly spurious and injurious to a well-ordered society, the amount of SA / DV occurring in our intimate partnerships, to wage theft off the rails, tax evasion and bizarre "tax code" (weaponized), wholly disingenuous myth-making in history and whacked math in economics (missing some massive variables and some completely unsupported assumptions), we are easily positioned, set off, set up, pitted against each other, morally, ethically compromised. SO much social violence, that we have layers of vernacular which create elaborate justifications for these systems of oppression that thrive in "colonial justice" thinking, and the wide gap of that model and the lack of mutual accountability in our diaspora (the in-country refugees of economic modernism aka indentured servitudes) in communities, affiliations, so-called BNI and professional networks, neighborhoods, and these issues love and enjoy projecting our own assumptions on others, imposing the punishments we fear. The requirement of American exceptionalism to find and off-gas its own dynamic internal conflicts and foist its genocidal energies onto other theaters of "conflict" and impose its "policy" mythmaking (othering, pulp policy production of pseudo-analysis, the pretense at superiority and the language that works in American conversations "begging from ignorance") - we will indeed be the last to realize just how complicit, diabolical, and intentional (most certainly pre-meditated) our coups and forever war approach has been. It's a necessary coverup. Its a profound distortion to keep a population ignorant, distracted, entertained, and sold out for a completely specious self-image that relies on consistent propaganda which has its own firewalls (thus, the attack on First Amendment rights across US universities and public discourse for decades). It is humiliating that we should be so willfully blind.

People are quick to reference U.S. colonial projects and European colonialism and it's immorality, then use it to make moral arguments...but until these people acknowledge and reference the mighty Muslim Conquest of Northern Africa and the effects on the indigenous people of those areas...as a person of African descent I will always be suspicious. It will seem to me that land rights and indigenous status is subject to interpretation by one oppressive group in response to an even more oppressive group...and moral consistency is therefore nonexistent.

Yes, Netanyahu has used this as an excuse to do every awful thing he has wanted to, including huge displacement which is a war crime.
