Egypt’s ICJ decision a ‘blow to ties’ with Israel: Analyst

Egypt's government has announced it will support the case South Africa filed at the International Court of Justice, accusing Israel of genocide.
Dalia Fahmy, associate professor of political science at Long Island University, says Egypt’s decision to join South Africa’s genocide case against Israel marks an “unprecedented moment in the modern-day history” between the two countries.
“Egypt has been the most important mediator in the region, the first Arab nation to recognise and formalise ties with Israel in 1979. And here is the symbolic moment, where the Egyptian government puts its foot down. The first is a humanitarian one, where the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the [Israeli] intervention currently comes in increasing severity. And that Israel’s actions in Gaza leading to the death of almost 40,000 individuals violates international humanitarian law and the fourth Geneva Convention,” she told Al Jazeera.
“This moment has deeper implications at the political level, because Israel has not proved itself in the eyes of Egypt as a good faith negotiator. It didn’t sign on to the ceasefire agreement even though it had said it would. Also for months, Egyptian officials have stated that Israeli invasion of Rafah would risk peace ties between the two countries. It’s more than the ICJ ruling, it’s also a blow to the ties between the two countries, because Israel … has actually seized the border and they have taken tactical provisional authority over the border.”

Right now, no one can get out, including foreign aid workers and nothing can get in at all. The IDF took that border and is in complete control of it. No food aid has been allowed to enter since Sunday. Even seriously injured children that were approved to be transferred out of Gaza for medical care, haven't been allowed to.

This happened a long time before Hamas existed: During the Nakba in 1948, approximately half of Palestine's predominantly Arab population, or around 750,000 people, were expelled from their homes or made to flee, at first by Zionist paramilitaries through various violent means, and after the establishment of the State of Israel, by the Israel Defense Forces. This occurred in the wake of dozens of massacres targeting Palestinian Arabs and the depopulation of 500 Arab-majority towns and villages, with many of these being either completely destroyed or repopulated by Jews and given new Hebrew names. By the end of the war, 78% of the total land area of the former Mandatory Palestine was controlled by Israel and at least 15,000 Palestinian Arabs had been killed. This is where it started. Followed by many more massacres by the Israeli Army. So every time Palestine has fighted back, it was fighting for freedm and its own land which was stolen by israel. And now Israel is doing what it had always been doing just on a larger scale killing more than 15000 Children and in total more than 35000 people. Israel is a disgrace for humanity and must be stopped immediatly.

Palestinians don't have their own land, they have been squatting on territories claimed by Jordan and Egypt. BTW, the casualty figures on women and children released by the terrorist organization Hamas has been proven statistically impossible, In other words, those are made up numbers.
