Turkey's ideological opposition to Kurds stems from the Kurdish commitment to decentralization, pluralism, and human rights-values that directly challenge Ankara's nationalist and centralist vision. This opposition is less about security concerns and more about suppressing a political model that threatens Turkey's status quo. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), for example, represent this model through their inclusive governance, with leadership composed of Kurds, Arabs, Assyrians, and others. Despite Turkey's narrative, the SDF is not synonymous with the PKK; it is a distinct force that has proven itself as a reliable ally in the fight against ISIS, including the liberation of Raqqa and the establishment of relative stability in northeast Syria. Ironically, Turkey's intelligence chief, Hakan Fidan, is Kurdish by heritage but does not represent Kurdish interests. Fidan has never fought for Kurdish rights and instead serves as a staunch enforcer of Turkey's policies that suppress Kurdish aspirations. His position is often cited by Turkey to deflect accusations of anti-Kurdish bias, but his actions reveal loyalty to Ankara's nationalist agenda rather than to his Kurdish roots. It is also important to recognize the source of this video: Al Jazeera. As Qatar's state-funded outlet, Al Jazeera aligns closely with Turkey, a key ally in the Middle East. This connection raises serious concerns about bias, as both Qatar and Turkey have vested interests in undermining Kurdish autonomy. Al Jazeera's framing often mirrors Ankara's talking points, omitting the broader context of Kurdish struggles for human rights and self-determination.

The international community has a responsibility to respect the sovereignty of Syria and to support efforts that genuinely help Syrians rebuild their country. Many Syrians have voiced frustration with the way international powers, whether through sanctions, military intervention, or other means, have only prolonged the conflict. Instead of offering unconditional support to certain factions or governments, the international community should focus on humanitarian aid, supporting efforts for national dialogue, and facilitating conditions for a lasting peace.

Y'all Turks are really cute. First time im seeing an FM speak and the comments section is like ❤❤❤❤ With our countries it's usually "Shut up you coward!", or something along those lines 😅 And if it's a whole bunch of them gathered to meet up, the statement is made against all of them, so just edited to be plural: "shut up you cowards!" 🙃🫣

Excellent interview. Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan comes across as an intelligent and measured man. As I have known since 21/8/2013, Turkiye's government out of all others has had the best orientation towards unfolding events in Syria. 01:07 “Domination culture itself has destroyed our region...therefore co-operation is essential...” 👍 Prayers for the peace, security and prosperity of Syria. ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ 😎 Adam Neira Founder of World Peace 2050 Founded in April 2000 Paris - Jerusalem - Melbourne

There are Egypt or other neighbouring Arab countries before Turkey to help Palestine. Betrayal of Palestinians during WWI still exist in subconscious of the Turkish army. I don't think they are willing to fight for Palestinians. Even more, Palestinians feel closer to Greeks , Cypriots or even Brits: they should ask for help from their friends. One more thing: Turkey had been designated as the protector of Israel by the USA before it was founded (Israel proved it unnecessary later though)

Türkiye did not do anything cause Hamas did not invite them, they also did not aggree with a MEB deal 2 years ago that would have officially put them on the map in NATO. Türkiye gave all they could internationally without a reply. On the other hand whereevrr Türkiye went they were the Resolvers and peace makers. Ask Somali, Ethiopia, Libya, Azerbaycan, And now Syria. İran killed one palestinian in a bare land just like they did with Trumps saying “ fake bombing”. left hamas for over 2 years to their Faith. Literally getting their OWN generals killed in their biggest city’s. İts streaming incapabel government and military all over 😂
