Water, which we desperately need but fail to value, is wasted instead. Meat, one of the reasons we are alive and healthy, also causes harm to animals. Oil, gas, and gasoline are some of the most essential factors for our lives, as important as water, yet we don’t know how to balance their use. We waste everything and pollute the planet.

👍 You are right, but under our present definition of 'profit' your ideas would cause major worldwide bankruptcies and staggering inflation. I agree with what you say here, but in order for these kinds of ideas to help reverse man-made climate change, the U.N. must first create a new 'Global Economic Model' GEM that is based on a better definition of 'profit'. I recommend this definition: "Profit = our gratefulness and loving care for the environment and sustenance that it provides to all of us". Regarding over population, we could try a global law of only two children per family. Again, two kids per family, under our old definition of 'profit' would also cause staggering inflation and bankruptcy. The dictionary definition is backwards to nature's economy because with "profit = income - expenses", the entire environment (including us), make up the expense part of the equation. Businesses must avoid and or eliminate all expenses. I think of the present definition of profit as a model for misbehavior towards the entire environment.

Well explained indeed! While it is imperative that we all understand Climate Change, what causes it and how to tackle it, the call of the hour is that our CHILDREN understand it. Let's face it - our generation has mad a holy mess of managing Climate Change. The least we can do now is empower our kids with the knowledge and tools they need, along with the motivation to tackle Climate Change. While we put in place action plans to tackle the crisis, this is equally important!

Managing Climate Change Introduction The concern for climate change underscores the dangerous impacts of climate change across the world. Climate change relates to changes in the climate which can be observed in the prevailing weather conditions as well as through the use of scientific instruments. Climate change is diverse, and its impacts on the world over time will be catastrophic to human beings and affect their existence (Javadinejad et al., 2021). In recognition of the danger posed by climate change, prominent organizations and governments have devised ways to handle climate change. These measures are aimed at arresting and stopping the continued deviation in climate change and which will eventually have drastic impacts on the lives of human beings. This article highlights the different measures taken by various organizations, and which are aimed at alleviating climate change, successes and failures realized, and proposals on mitigating the impact of climate change. The management of climate change relates to drastic measures taken by the organization to curb increasing measures tied to climate change. Ideally, climate change is a concern for both individuals, organizations, and governments. Measures to mitigate the dangers of climate change have been taken by various organizations (Thomas et al., 2019). These measures capture the local and worldwide perspective realized concerning the control of climate change across the world. measures taken to curb climate change are diverse, and their influence across organizations is diverse, yet they have not all yielded success in the control of climate change. Successful Measures Realized in the Control of Climate Change Many measures have been devised to help in the control of alienate change. These measures have been implemented from both a local perspective and in the international arena. The following are some of the measures that have been adopted across the world and that have yielded a positive impact on the control and management of climate change.: Planting Trees One of the major ways in which climate change, as noticed in various communities has been harnessed is through the planting of trees. Planting trees is an initiative of local communities in various communities across the world. Success derived from these communities is realized in better weather conditions in the various regions where the idea of man-made forests has been embraced. Weather is an aspect of climate in the present and its implementation indicates a positive transition in the weather conditions in various regions. The positive rates realized in regions where planting of trees has been embraced indicate the viability of weather and the different climatic conditions which must be realized across organizations. Planting trees helped in improving weather conditions in various regions as trees are huge producers of oxygen gas during photosynthesis. The significance of the improvement in weather conditions in various regions indicates that a large-scale improvisation of the same ideas on a large scale will lead to a positive change in climatic conditions across the world (Armstrong et al., 2018). Tree planting is thus a very vital element in the management of climate conditions across the world. these measures depict the positive implements realized with the planting of trees, and thus depict the necessary actions in organizations that indicate an increase in the management of weather climate change. Design and Development of Hybrid Electric Vehicles On a large scale perceive, electric vehicles have been developed to use little resources from the environment. The measures are taken to develop EVs give credence to the reliability and a reduction in carbon emissions as previously underscored in communities with a diversified network of operations. the development of both hybrid and electric vehicles gives the positive stance realized in organizations concerning a reduction in emissions. The development of hybrid and electric vehicles has contributed greatly to the reduction of dangers meted by carbon emissions across the world (Or et al., 2020). the use of EVs and hybrid vehicles gives them give little emissions even when they are used in a small region. The use of EVs serve to has led to better communal living with reduced carbon from vehicles. The development of EVs and hybrid vehicles is thus a positive measure that has been adopted across the world to reduce the impacts of climate change in various communities. EVs and hybrid vehicles are a successful measure in the management of climate change since they give little emissions to the atmosphere, and since they play a huge part in the travel infrastructure, they serve to care for the various aspects of positive trends in the control of climate change across the world. EVs and hybrids are measures that influence the whole world as these vehicles are used across the world. The use of EVs has led is a development that has helped to reduce carbon emissions to the environment especially in vehicles. Failures of Management of Climate Change Measures to combat climate change are not always successful. The implementation of these measures and that communities interact effectively with each other and support the various programs developed to ensure that curb the adverse effects of climate change. The following are some of the measures devised to manage climate change but were not successful. Statutes to manage human behavior In a bid to manage climate change, and with the realization that climate change is an outcome-driven by individual human beings across the world, there have been statutes implemented to govern the behavior of communities. The changes devised are a conglomeration of control to the lifestyle of people in communities. These statutes sought to encourage human beings to change their behavior patterns in the various organizations and therefore help to reduce changes in the climate across the world. The implementation of these policies was deemed a failure and they were not executed to effectiveness. Human beings are creatures of habit. A change in the different habits in the general populace across the world has not been realized. The expectation that climate change will be arrested by engaging the whole human populace to adhere to a specific set of rules which did not yield the expected outcomes in communities (Allard, 2021). The proposed statutes sought to encourage a minimalistic approach to living and which would reduce the worldwide perception of mass human interactions. These laws were not effective and they did not realize the purpose intended, that is to improve reduce emissions in the world. Future Prospects of Management of Climate Change To endorse and realize better outcomes in communities and across the world concerning the idea of climate change, the following measures can be adopted. Educating the public on climate change Climate change is a commonly perceived agenda that all human beings across the planet have been exposed to the relevance of the control and management of climate change in communities. Future measures to curb climate change will be realized if the message to change climate change is shared as a responsibility (Corry, 2017). Present trends in sharing information related to the necessity of climate change are tied to the dangers of past behaviors and indications of the actions that have put the world on an edge concerning climatic changes observed. The information depicted includes drylands, burning fossil fuels, and the huge factories putting off waste on resources. This information makes climate change a precarious task. Communities perceive the idea of climate change as an unmanageable problem and which lies beyond the ability of individual human beings. The alternate approach can be adopted to teach communities the various activities in which they can engage in, and which will lead to a reduction of global climate change (Orgill et al., 2019). An encouragement of minor activities that can be handled by all people in communities will encourage them to put up ab action to help mitigate the deterioration of climate change. Use of renewable energy sources One of the major causes of climate change is the use of nonrenewable sources of energy, especially fossil fuels. Measures that can be used in the future to help manage climate change are the use of renewable sources of energy. The primary source of renewable energy is the sun. With the unlimited renewable source of energy from the sun, communities will realize an improvement in climate change (Cavicchioli et al., 2019). Other sources of renewable sources of energy include hot springs and the generation of electricity using gravity and wind. With these measures in place, the trends of climate change will be reversed, as there will be minimum emissions to the environment. Conclusion Climate change is a potential threat to the existence of human beings and living things on planet earth. There is a need to have measures to mitigate the increasing deterioration of climate change. Previous attempts taken to control climate change have proven to have not realized major success. Successful measures in the control of climate change have been the planting of trees and the use of hybrid and electric vehicles. Unsuccessful efforts to manage climate change was the implementation of statutes governing behavior that would lead to a reduction in climate change. Prospects aimed at the improvement of climate is education to the public and the use and development of renewable energy.

Thank you Al Jazeera English. This video on Climate Change was very informative. I think everyone should be made aware about it especially at the grass root level who authorizes the license to vehicle owner to big corporate houses to run factories and industries without caring the future generation's need. It was well said in this video that a finite world/ planet cannot have infinite. We (every individual) should take the ownership to protect the planet Earth. Our motto should be "Our World" not "My World". There should be "Collaboration" not "Competition" among nations and finally there should be "Equity" not "Disparity" within a nation. If the concerned Government takes care of all these things then I can be rest assure that even after 10,000 years the temperature will not rise by even 1degree C. Best Wishes. Khwaja Ram.

No Worry. Ya I agree with you. It’s like medieval times, being loyal to our autocratic masters and hoping we’ll have a lucky day where he throws us a bone. Why are we supporting our masters so much? Pay scale inequality has helped them exploit us. Yet we support them. The recent tax bill was a huge financial gift only to the ultra rich. Yet we support them. Fossil fuel corporations are removing regulation, destroying our environment and water -‘f Leung to the public. Yet our politicians give them our tax money. Where would you get money for Medicare? We give away our tax money to corporations and overseas governments.

No Worry. Ya agendas like WTO, IMF, G7, G20, NATO, and NAFTA look for economic expansion as they run out of ideas for exploiting their own country. The Petro dollar, OPEC, fossil fuel reliance and the collaborating friends of finance, governments, corporatists, and arms have created a globalized network. Climate change is not "turbocharging weather events". The UN's IPCC AR6 report, chapter 11 'Weather and Climate Extreme Events in a Changing Climate' summarises the fact that severe weather events cannot be detected as increasing, nor attributed to human caused climate change: Increased Flooding: not detected, no attribution. Increased Meteorological Drought: not detected, no attribution. Increased Hydrological Drought: not detected, no attribution. Increased Tropical Cyclones: not detected, no attribution. Increased Winter Storms: not detected, no attribution. Increased Thunderstorms: not detected, no attribution. Increased Hail: not detected, no attribution. increased lightning: not detected, no attribution. Increased Extreme Winds: not detected, no attribution. There is no climate crisis. The UN's IPCC AR6 report, chapter 11 'Weather and Climate Extreme Events in a Changing Climate' summarises the fact that certain severe weather events cannot be detected as increasing, nor attributed to human caused climate change: Pages 1761 - 1765, Table 11.A.2 Synthesis table summarising assessments Heavy Precipitation: 24 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend (12 medium confidence), 43 out 45 low confidence in human attribution. Agricultural Drought: 31 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend (14 medium confidence. No high confidence assessment). 42 out 45 low confidence in human attribution (3 medium, no high confidence). Ecological Drought as above. Hydrological Drought: 38 out of 45 global regions low confidence in observed trend. 43 out 45 low confidence in human attribution (2 medium confidence, no high confidence). So the IPCC are saying we didn't cause droughts and we didn't make it rain. How surprising! There is no objective observational evidence that we are living in a global climate crisis. The UN's IPCC AR6, chapter 12 "Climate Change Information for Regional Impact and for Risk Assessment", section 12.5.2, table 12.12 confirms there is a lack of evidence or no signal that the following have changed: Air Pollution Weather (temperature inversions), Aridity, Avalanche (snow), Average precipitation, Average Wind Speed, Coastal Flood, Agricultural drought, Hydrological drought, Erosion of Coastlines, Fire Weather (hot and windy), Flooding From Heavy Rain (pluvial floods), Frost, Hail, Heavy Rain, Heavy Snowfall and Ice Storms, Landslides, Marine Heatwaves, Ocean Acidity, Radiation at the Earth’s Surface, River/Lake Floods, Sand and Dust Storms, Sea Level, Severe Wind Storms, Snow, Glacier, and Ice Sheets, Tropical Cyclones. How about some quotes from the UN's IPCC AR6? "There is low confidence in the emergence of heavy precipitation and pluvial and river flood frequency in observations, despite trends that have been found in a few regions." "There is low confidence in the emergence of drought frequency in observations, for any type of drought, in all regions." "Observed mean surface wind speed trends are present in many areas, but the emergence of these trends from the interannual natural variability and their attribution to human-induced climate change remains of low confidence due to various factors such as changes in the type and exposure of recording instruments, and their relation to climate change is not established. . . The same limitation also holds for wind extremes (severe storms, tropical cyclones, sand and dust storms)." There is no objective observational evidence that we are living through a global climate crisis. None.

Wow, that's some pretty biased cherry-picking of evidence my friend. As a university professor, I had my science methods class spend 20 minutes in class looking through 12.12... at all the changes that are happening all over the world. You really have to read IPCC AR6 with a predetermined outcome in mind to come away with the impression that we don't face a climate crisis. It's already causing hundreds of harmful ripple effects for people, societies, species, and ecosystems all around the world. You do know don't you that our emissions made the oceans 30% more acidic, and that studies have found that half the species studied (out of 5,000) were on the move to cooler climes? That the ski season is now 4-5 weeks shorter than in 1980, and many ski resorts are having to close down (nearly half of the 169 ski resorts who shut down in the Alps since 1950 shut down for lack of snow). Please stop cherry-picking the things that aren't changing and pay attention to the damaging things that are. Maybe you don't know this, but humans have raised CO2 levels 50% since 1776, big changes in CO2 levels were THE main "kill mechanism" for most major and minor extinction events in Earth's history, and we are currently raising global CO2 levels over 10 times faster than they increased before the worst mass extinction in Earth's history. In short, if we keep increasing CO2 levels, we would trigger a mass extinction event that will make the changes reported in 12.12 look trivial by comparison. You know, as in most people dying off and most species going extinct. That's simply how the world works--you change CO2 levels a lot in a hurry and lots of things die.
@HealingLifeKwikly9 ай бұрын
P.S. 1) The IPCC is well-known to understate the strength of trends and evidence. 2) The first report of AR6 was published in 2021, mostly based on data from 2020 and earlier, and since then, most research has come out showing even stronger attributional evidence for destructive climate trends due to man-made global warming.

Greta Thunberg Leo di Caprio Al Gore Joe Biden and the British Royal family are doing more to “save the planet” than the rest of the world put together. They are explaining the science. The Bible is thousands of years old and talks about the deserts in the Middle East it talks about droughts and famine. But thanks to Greta and King Charles we now know the Bible was talking about NOW and climate change. We know that droughts are new, floods are new, earthquakes are new, hurricanes in Florida are all new, shrinking rainforest is new. It’s all due to CO2 emissions of normal working class people. Before 2020 there has never been an illness that could wipe out millions of people. Before 2020 all vaccines were wrong, we now know you are supposed to take vaccines every year. Before 2020 volcanoes earthquakes hurricanes blizzards melting ice floating icebergs that could sink a ship never happened. We all need to get vaccinated against climate change now. CO2 is required by plants and trees. We need to stop CO2 we need stop plants NOW. THE UNITED NATIONS says so. They have all worked together and now we need to do our bit and send world leaders on private planes to all the capital cities to stay at all the luxury hotels to tell us what need to do. There are problems with food supplies and prices are going up. But this is because the war in the Ukraine, so if Ukraine has a democracy there will be universal peace in the Middle East and every commodity will be 100 per cent cheaper so world hunger will cease and energy will be free.

The people that does not believe it, may then go on driving their cars, flying around the world and continue to eat meat. It is in a way unjust if people that does not believe such theories should be forced to do certain things because other people thnk they should.

If we want to effectively tackle these problems, what we need is to focus only on measures that have a real impact 1) distance tax: a tax that increases the longer the goods are shipped or transported- this incentivizes a local economy and stops the mess of goods running around the world for no reason. 2) female education- the more educated the less children they will have, as overpopulation is a huge problem 3) tackle income inequality- tax the super wealthy and the multinationals, make them pay the right share, no more tax avoidance or producing in countries with lower regulations. Big companies need the most resources and make up the biggest polluters, so local and smaller is better. 4) universal basic income so people dont have "to make a living" at any cost and follow their passions- no damaging, stupid or unnecessary work 5) make hemp biodiesel (and other biodiesels) make up 30% of all fuel compulsory in the economy and make investments. Tackle food waste and make it maximal 5% of all produced. Go towards 0% fossil fuels with improved technology. Swap most plastics for hemp-derived materials 6) sustainability index- make an index of the worst environmental offender-practices. Ban those that are not needed and bring within limits those that can be made sustainable. Use taxes to incentivize/disincentivize 7) go towards a bio-adapted infrastructure such as passages for the wild under highways and so forth. Go back to natural farming, drop all intensive farming, is healthier anyway. Decrease production of animal products. Abandon chemicals, fertilizers and pesticides, all not sustainable. 8) we need a working UN back in some form, to protect areas such as the amazonas and other strategically important parts of the world for the ecology. Besides that we need first nation countries to invest in countries that are lagging behind, as the investment would yield much greater results. This is a global challenge. 9) drop all the measures that wont make any difference and accept that we cant control it 100% at this point. Maybe there are some benefits in a warmer climate too. Feel free to copy/paste
@wholeshebang12 жыл бұрын
Yes! This is what's needed. I just addressed some of those issues in my own reply further up, and am glad to see your sensible, proactive and doable suggestions. 25 years ago, a car that used hemp oil as fuel was driven around the USA and made a few stops in Canada. In Toronto, I spoke to the 2 men who drove it, and they said that the only modification they had to make to the engine was to replace the cork gaskets with rubber ones. It was a station wagon, so they carried the fuel on the roof and in the back, and more fuel was sent ahead by train to stops along their route. I was enthused by this greener alternative. Unfortunately, that idea didn't catch on then, mostly due to the powerful oil and gasoline industry blocking it (i.e. lobbyists finding loopholes, and financial contributions made behind the scenes), similar to the earlier electric cars developed at the turn of the last century. *_Hemp_* has also been made into both hard and malleable "plastic" to replace toxic, non-biodegradable, petroleum-based plastics. Hemp "plastic" bags (for shopping purchases) have been around for 20 years, but retailers refused to pay the slightly higher price (than plastic), that would have gone down as more bought and used them. Another issue is the proliferation of _fast fashion,_ mostly made of non-biodegradable, petro-chemicals like polyester, nylon, acrylic and Spandex. They are cheaply made, fall apart easily, and most ends up in landfill sites. They tap into the ever-changing fashion trends that people buy and wear for a season or two, then dispose of. Natural fibres like hemp are more sustainable, don't require toxic pesticides, and last longer. Ropes used on ships have beeen made of hemp for centuries. The booming, American cotton industry, sensing a threat from hemp farming, used the argument that cannabis/hemp was a "drug" and pressured the government to ban it, which it did in 1937 (under the Marijuana Tax Act), effectively killing their competition. I will copy your comprehensive response for further use. Thank you for being part of the solution.
