+mplsridah., Thanks I stand corrected, what I mean actually is AJ"s presentations whether they are hated or liked could be subject to anybody's appreciation of them. In my case as well as from many people I know, many of their presentations are disliked especially those that justify terrorism as a valid war being waged by freedom fighters who are being oppressed in a society they are in. We dislike them because they are partisan.

Yes, I'm rewatching this. These oligarchs all had connections to Russia, but also to the financial systems in the West. Also, noted the tRump connection.... Unfortunately, not sure how much follow-up that will get, IMO unpleasant scenarios were mentioned around the NYC prosecutors, hence the cold feet. People don't think that stuff happens in the US. I understand there are even "offshore" type banks in some states. This corruption is going to devour us from the inside out.

Zelensky ran on an anti-corruption in 2019 campaign and was wildly successful, winning 70% of the vote. He's been wildly successful in purging many of the corrupt politicians and judges and corrupt prosecutors from the system. Deleveraging Russia influance from UA is the start of this war. Russia is attacking because they are unable to control and exploit UA in the manor they have been for decades.

You are wrong or more likely inaccurate and confusing a wealth generation cycle that advantages a super elite in the west. Oligarchs, how the terms is used today, means kleptocrat and most commonly Russian kleptocrats because besides China, Russia has the most oligarchs/kleptos. Basically, those whose wealth is stolen directly or nearly so from the government and resources that should belong to the country. Kleptocracy is much more common outside the US and the West in countries with virtually no rule of law. In the US and Europe, we have many who are wealthy from or a combination of rigged stock market, legacy wealth which imparts an unfair advantage in capital and basically a small group of super wealthy who use their financial advantage to keep growing their share of the pie in a way that is unhealthy for society.

They don't really work either just pathologically lie as traitors, hypocrites, and criminals against humanity. They have unpaid/paid interns and secretaries etc whom do the bulk of their 'work' as it were for them. The list goes on and on of course speaking the truth. Or going against the narrative is a big no no in the USA most especially. Helps when the corporate oligarchy and system have a monopoly on truth unfortunately we're screwed. Lol there is no such thing in Canada, it seems you think your reality is everyone's reality. Or you confuse dominators (whatever that means), businessman and oligarch. Oligarchs are rich businessmen who are close to the seat of power and are using that power to get richer without competition. So basically businessmen corrupting politicians. Or politicians corrupting businessmen. In Canada, if you do this, you will be accused of fraud, collusion, etc. Of course some people try it anyway, some get arrested, some get away with it but it's relatively rare. My former neighbor told me he imigrated from India because he was tired of corruption among other things. Personally, my family is quite rich so I know quite a few people that you might think are corrupted because they are rich but the truth is that while many people try to avoid to pay taxes (still they end up paying a lot), the rich got rich because they did the things other people were not capable or couragous enough to do : study a lot, work 24/7, saving money instead of speading, invest money, take huge risks, try hard projects, hire people, motivate people, etc. They created value. Yes many people are trying to work the least and earn the most and I guess it's normal somehow. But no oligarchs are not everywhere but maybe corruption is everywhere in your country ?

Excellent journalism. If anyone is curious about what makes journalism like this so different from, for example, something you might see on CNN, look into the "Lippman Dewey debate". They basically argued about what journalism ought to do and how.

Whenever these guys break finance laws it’s the minimum wage accountants that go to prison if they don’t catch the fraud. And it’s a flood of fraud daily with oligarchs screaming over the phone at them. Accountancy firms can’t even refuse the worst ones their services because oligarchs have a “right” to an accounting firm by law.

excellent and important investigative journalism. Thank you for your bravery and honesty in these matters. I would love to see these crooks brought to justice but i'm not holding my breath until that happens. This is all a profound tragedy for the working peoples of these countries, many of whom suffer so much hardship and injustice because of this kind of rampant corruption. These billionaires have no conscience, many if not all are likely sociopaths.

Neither EARN their good life - both beg & grovel to the highest and are handsomely rewarded, while the reward for these oligarchs is real, all these believers get is a cheap promise, the stupid fools! And yes both have killed, raped & tortured innocents those that did not want to join them & support their "dear, loving leader" So much for all our big talk on morals and values

unrelated, but this kind of ownership structure that was used for fincorp and those other ones below it, is also prevalent in the US, using llc, and states like wyoming and delaware have this same type of non-disclosure type of laws where the owner doesnt need to be on the articles of incorporation. take from that what you will. edit: also wanted to add that Deutsche Bank has been fined hundred of millions of dollars, for failure to file SAR's properly. JPMorgan Chase got fined $2 billion dollars in 2014 for the same thing. I used to be a bank teller, it really is the easiest thing to file, it takes like 5-10 minutes. And not doing so should result in some kind of internal audit at the least. Im sure these types of transactions should have been reviewed by the back office of the banks that were named. Though they might see these sized transactions hundred of times every day, they should still be looked at.

In one sentence: Nothing happens far from the eyes of Western governments. Most of the money robbed from the countries you ranked third world or developing are either in your banks, shares in your companies, invested in in real estates or some other parts of your economy.

What about the wealthy that rule your country? Don't they rob from the poor there? Don't they deposit their gains in western banks....live lavishly in your country and in other countries as well? The first time I saw Al Jazeera news, it was on cable tv. At that time it was run by, what I thought was a terrorist country. To see this excellent investigative reporting 30 years later, is interesting, because it shows how reporting sources can change drastrically, with the time. I hope it leads to solutions to global corruption.

The reporting sources didn't change, history proved that you were wrong 30 years ago. Remember, 30 years ago was 1992, chances are that you were a patriotic supporter of the United States and the first Gulf War, and dismissed Al Jazeera because unlike US journalists, that were mostly patriotic propaghandists for the US Government, Al Jezeera had acutual investigative journalists. :)

In 1992, Al Jezeera was reporting on issues such as, how American military presence in Saudi Arabia, used as a launching point for the Gulf war, was extremely destabilizing in the Islaamic world. This got little reporting in the US. The CIA has since disclosed that US trained Osama Bin Laden's primary motivation for his horrific attack on the US in 911, was the American (Infidel) military presence in Saudi Arabia, seat of Holy Mecca.

The property manager of the multi-unit, commercial property, owned by a local authority in which I am one of the tenants, recently told me of an incident whereby two electricians were employed to move an electrical distribution board from one side of a corridor to the opposite wall. The work took two days over one weekend. The property manager received a bill for over £90,000. He questioned the bill and he was told not to question it and to authorise payment. 32 hours of labour and some extra meters of cable, all for £90,000.00. Nice!!!

There is little to no information on who they are, where they are, & what they do, other than influence up to 84% of the laws passed by Congress.
