If this can pose as mutually advantageous for both India and Mauritius -let it be. It is seen as a defense in intent and who do not need this initiative for these trying uncertain times. It is still Mauritius which reigns on the rights of that island, that when the report discloses both India and Mauritius are keeping a secret re the construction of military bases and similar installation on said island, there is no disparity whatsoever to see therein. Not some heavily armed military fortress as what is seen in the US controlled Diego Garcia with B52 bombers, with even nuclear weapons are believed stored. The people living in Agalega are not forced to leave nor prevented from returning. About the improvement of economic conditions of the locals, there is a positive trend, as well as ensuring the natural environment is preserved and sustained. The proof is in the end result. if you see a picture of the island you will see it's in two parts northern and southern. The base is being built on the northern island and people will move to the southern part of the island which can easily host 250 people.

So, the locals aren't exactly keeping their island as they had it and they do feel like the current relocations may well lead to them being totally displaced. I don't think India is incapable of such a move, and after all they must have learnt something from 90 years of British occupation.
