Deric... Great Demo video, much appreciated. For me, I would rather have heard it straight through the amp, with NO Mike... to hear what it really sounds like on its own. I only play Country, Country Gospel, some western swing and learning some bluegrass..... all played (learning) on Lap Steel guitars (have 2). Also, I am a Beginner on the Lap Steel (at 74 yrs "young"), and only started on it less than a year ago, and just got back on the Bass guitar two years ago after 50 yrs away from it...and I have a separate 100w bass amp (Accoustic) for that. Which Fender amp (Champion 20 or 40) would You advise for the Lap Steel Guitar, PRIMARILY, for home use, and "Very occasional".. small jam sessions? I will NOT be doing any recording, nor any aspirations of playing any live venues.... that I'm currently aware of at this time, anyway... though I would be "open" to the possibility. lol Which would be your choice... considering a max price range of $300.... but not as the deciding factor (money), but based on realistic needs or potential needs. Also, I'm NOT into Any genre of "music" necessitating "distortion" (personally, I find distortion to be "hideous").... I play "clean" Only, but desire other choices, such as Reverb, Delay, Tremolo, Chorus, etc,etc. along with "Clean". Thank you, Deric for all the effort you put into your video's.... am a recent subscriber and "like" all your videos that I've watched so far. I appreciate your time and any direction you can give me towards making a decision on which (or, any other alternative) amp to get... today is Saturday, June 24th 2023.... want to order whatever amp, this coming week.... so Thank You. Lord Bless & protect you & yours, now & in the coming days, weeks & months ahead. Num.6:24-26 to you. PS: Would an amp like the FC 40 be too much for "home use" even if "turned down" while practicing.... or for use with a headset, which I often do.... while at the same time, allowing for potential away from home use, in the aforementioned possibilities?

I have one of these, and from your demo I notice the change in volume with the different settings. But (using medium or low-output humbuckers in gibsons and epis) and trying to get similar in-bedroom or in-headphone volumes) I find I need very different gain, volume, bass, treble settings on each voice, and many of the voices seem to have a lot of noise.

Yup...I bought the Course; just had to do it for only a lousy $15 and, it applies to ANY Amp too. Even before that though I've compulsively on instinct watched this channel's specific Champion 20 tutorials relentlessly and then I realized why: the Man has Discernment and, extremely useful here, not so common "Common Sense" about sculpting Great sounds from even this "cheap" but Great little beast. He's hopefully saving some kids from quitting practice not to mention the mountain of "cheap" little "student" Amps from being discarded in Landfills. Recycling dumps or sent to collect dust in stores as "used" when they've been hardly used at all.

Wow, that was very helpful. Just demonstrated the chords sound and solo sounds perfectly. The visual and your talk helped to follow the sequence. I just got my 20, so far it's the right amp.

Incredible, do you know how to get a overdrive + reverb effects with this amp ? (For solo) n
@zarnimovies Жыл бұрын
You can only have one sound at a time - so you can select whichever voice gives you the sort of overdrive you want, and then play with the effects settings which include hall or spring reverbs, and the amount of the current effect. But having one setting for non-solos and then adding overdrive and reverb while soloing in the same track needs pedals.

That’s probably feedback your guitar is picking up from around your room. Either move where you play to somewhere with less feedback or you can get a noise gate/suppressor pedal to really cut down on it.

Great Demo!!..... But, what does it Really sound like... straight though the amp... No Mike?
@kballs94 Жыл бұрын
Tinny. Very tinny. The speakers are crap. They do not sound amazing in the room. They're fine miced up though. If it's all you can afford, this thing is awesome. If you upgraded the speaker, it would probably send this little amp into orbit. If you're asking about a direct line out? I'm not sure, especially since they don't come with a proper line out.
@Romans--bo7br Жыл бұрын
@@kballs94.... Hello, and thank you for your response. I was looking at the "20" for a practice amp at home, for my steel guitars and harmonica's. I was using my Bass Amp (100w), but of course really needed something suited for guitars. I wound up buying a Fender Champion 40 and have already ordered a new 12" speaker for it that was specifically designed for use with steel guitars. Even "as is", it works fine for my intended needs, plus I can experiment with the different voicings, FX, etc. but can't wait to get this new speaker into it.... heard another Champ.40 with the same new speaker being used with a steel, and it was a whole different amp than with the stock Fender speakers... incredible sound & tone. The speaker cost me Ten dollars more than the amp did... but, I know it will be a great amp for my purposes after I install the new speaker. Thanks again for your reply, and information... I appreciate it.
