I have a theory of why oda doesn't like to kill characters: Ace... He killed Ace then got some crazy idea regarding him and the idea was so good that he had to implement it somehow plus Ace was way cooler of a character to be wasted like that so he kind of cloned him into Sabo. so he doesn't take chances. (i dont remember anyone mentioning Sabo prior to his intro so i believe he was later shoehorned in...if i am wrong let me know)

But the biggest hiccup was at the end when talking about the Going Merry. @10:55 "That's when Usopp and Merry showed up", this insinuates that Usopp wasn't there on Enies Lobby and sailed the Merry to the Straw Hats to save them. This diminishes how Going Merry actually got there. The fact that Merry got there by itself is super important and makes it's eventual death even more impactful.
