Blue dew talisman completely underrated. The only talisman in the game with passive FP regen. Several pieces of armor give health regen but only one talisman gives FP regen. Having to use a finite amount of starlight shards before was super painful. Very useful for longer invasions too when you run out of blue flasks.
@Jimbobda1st23 күн бұрын

Blessed Blue Dew talisman kind of makes healing free if you're into Faith. You cast something like Blessing of the Erdtree and you get the FP back by the end of its effect, more or less. So you can turn your now useless healing flasks into FP ones and have even more FP :) It's useless against bosses of course but I like having it when exploring a new area/dungeon. Not saying that Youwi is wrong, he knows the game a million times better than I do, just sharing a possible use for it.

@aprinnyonbreak129024 күн бұрын
The only thing I can think of is availability. The Blue Dew talisman is behind as a minimum Mohg, wheras the normal Dew talisman is in the like, maybe 30 minutes off a fresh character level of availability. I agree though. Once you actually have both, the regular Dew talisman is completely and wholly outclassed by the regular Dew talisman, and the same logic of availability penalties on the Blue Dew talisman also means there's really no excuse to not have the couple points of Faith to squeeze a bestial vitality out of it.

Normal one you get right at the beginning of the game so it has some use whereas the blue one you get in the DLC and it in undoubtedly a wasted talisman slot unless you're AFK. There are way better talismans out there for saving FP or regenerating FP. Im shocked that people find value in this talisman at all when you're having to wait minutes just to be able to cast a spell once or twice.
@lmtalpha638224 күн бұрын
A very situational niche I've found about the Twinblade Talisman is that the powerstanced light greatsword moveset has some shortcuts that end in the final attack. The rolling and jumping attacks transition into the final attack which has four hits so I made a build that has all the multi hit talismans and the twinblade talisman to take advantage of it. It is a pretty long animation but if I had an opening long enough to get the whole thing off then it did decent damage.
@quendimirlenintino960522 күн бұрын
Powerstance spears and greathammers (especially bleed) with Twinblade Talisman and endure in right hand compete with the most broken builds in the game. I've made an occult dual great stars build with RKR in right hand and jump attack buffs - yes, jump attack counts as hit one in a three hit combo - which means hit one gets all the jump buffs and RKR and as long as you get the other two off they, mathematically, get buffed 23 percent each. The reason From has kept it as this niche application rather than making the damage bonus increase with 4 or 5 hit combos is because, well, imagine a venomous fang build with endure and this Talisman on. You get the idea.

Peak A tier "For the most part I don't consider it to be worth the talisman slot." Crusade Insignia is borderline useless. When do you ever need 15% more damage outside of a bossfight? Also Blade of Mercy is just a better version because you can almost always backstab of stance break some random mob. Anyway the rest of the list is fine. Nice vid.

I think the only reason he put blessed dew talismans so low because people can’t stfu about it and treat it as some game breaking thing. I disagree about crimson seed , it should have been 1st because in my opinion. People don’t realise how great it full your health bar in 1 go. Less flask usage and less time you gonna spend healing that indirectly increase chance of you not getting hit.
@aprinnyonbreak129024 күн бұрын
If you're gonna do crimson seed, you should honestly probably do ritual shield too, since the combo generally means you take two good hits, then top it off. It's just one of those hit to kill formulas that kinda works out most of the time.
@paigelove266623 күн бұрын
In defense of Blessed Blue Dew: It's excellent for low mind builds, especially ones that lean on buffs. Cragblade, golden vow, FGMS all become a lot easier to keep going, and stuff like Quick Step, Bloodhound's Step, and Raven of the Mist become easier to use freely on builds that aren't using much FP otherwise. Even in boss fights! Being able to just stick to a talisman to remove the need to ever use an fp flask (which also potentially wastes an opportunity to buff) improves the cadence of a lot of fights too. I think 2h talisman, double headed turtle, dragoncrest greatshield, and blue dew is just a really solid default to use if you're not an ash-based or spell-based build.

@IcarusFalling9923 күн бұрын
@Jimbobda1st Yeah, and the talisman isn't good in a vacuum don't get me wrong, but when QS is the only thing you're spending FP on it adds up. The fight was so long that over the course of the fight you get a lot of "free" quicksteps. I had a cold milady, 11 hp flasks and 1 fp flask for emergencies. It was way easier to dodge all the bullshit combos with QS without having to worry about FP at all, especially the autocombo double slash radahn used to have.

@@IcarusFalling99 but why not have a talisman that meant you could do more damage making the fight shorter or something to make it so that mistakes won't be as problematic, and then just get another blue flask
@IcarusFalling9923 күн бұрын
@Jimbobda1st I was running blue dew + 2-handed sword + Two-headed turtle + Phys/Holy defense talisman. For me, I only wanted to focus on 2 fundamentals. 1. Dodge combos and 2. Punish openings. Having "infinite" quickstep made dodging combos easier, because they were super oppressive back then. Openings were small as well, and you pretty much could only do 1 action, heal/fill fp or hit the boss once/twice, and then it was back into another mega combo. Blue dew enabled QS which meant I didn't get hit as often, which meant more openings for damage instead of healing. Yeah sure, you could not run blue dew and have marginally more damage, but it was a mental thing for me. I only had to focus on dodging and punishing. I didn't have to look at fp at all and I had an extra hp flask instead of fp flask. Now, you could just roll as well which makes all this talk void, but I suck shit at rolling so QS was my crutch to beating him, and I thought to build around that.

It's just really weird why they did this and then there's a giant rant how From is nerfing things. They could just balance weapons and ashes based on themselves, rather than looking at over 100 talismans and saying "That's broken because people use these talismans". Come on man...

I disagree with these talisman rankings: 1. Lance talisman - Combat on the horse is pretty strong in my opinion, if you know the technique. I didn't want to kill bosses on the horse in open world, because I though it was a lame way to play the game, seeming somewhat of a cheating, because of how strong it was. Basically, I hit the bosses without giving them an opportunity to hit me back 2. Blessed blue dew talisman - if you are not using a lot of mana, which in my playthroughs was the case, you can use this trinket and not have to use mana flasks at all. You have more HP flask charges, in this case. Instead of using flasks to restore mana, you could do something more useful (hit the boss, restore HP etc.) You don't have to think about mana ever again, in these cases. Near the end of the fight you run out of mana, sometimes

I think Blue Dew talisman is A tier for exploration when you're playing the game for the first time and doing so blind. I remember thinking that it was downright broken when I first got it, because it basically allowed me to have endless casts for most of my buffs and Ashes. However, that was only the case because I was basically crawling through every area of the DLC and I was running a Paladin-esque build with emphasis on physical damage and support incants. If I was casting more frequently and used FP for offense constantly, Blue Dew would probably seem about as useful as Blessed Dew. In addition, even though I used Blue Dew for exploration, I would unequip it before boss fights, because I knew that I simply won't need it and have better stuff to slot in. I'm currently on a new playthrough and I don't miss the Blue Dew at all. I just use the Cerulean Dagger during exploration and an additional flask for the boss fights.

blue dew talisman hasnt left my talisman slot. when at low fp, ashes of war only require half the fp cost so this talisman can pretty much negate the need of fp flasks for some weapons.
@Killrhobo1523 күн бұрын
I don't understand Youwy's logic for the Blessed Blue Dew Talisman. For many builds when you're using spells and AoW seldomly, this helps you save your blue flasks (and red flasks when you have healing spells) especially going through long dungeons. There's a lot of downtime when you're exploring anyways so you don't even need to be afk to get your FP back. I've used it for most of my DLC playthrough.

The cheapest healing incant costs 16fp, which is 32 seconds, and that's urgent heal, not going to replace crimson flasks
@zidoknight838122 күн бұрын
@Jimbobda1st Blessing's boon is great for exploration, and absolutely can replace the crimson flask if you're not getting hit a ton of times. It's 30 FP, so you'll have the FP for it back as soon as it expires, or before if you're running Old Lord for extra Cragblade duration. If you're running an Int/Fth build, spamming Discus of Light, it'll be paid for every 6 seconds. You'll usually have a bit more time than that between encounters, even in dungeons. Blue Dew isn't game-breaking, but it's at least better than 71. I'd put it middle B-tier.

I think Blessed Blue Dew is underrated, especially for co-op where your flasks are heavily reduced and FP becomes much more costly. Even in single player though, with long marathon boss fights, the Blue Dew talisman can add up over a long period and end up being the difference between an extra cast of a costly spell, and obviously for exploration this goes double
@Jimbobda1st23 күн бұрын
First, this is PvE, it could one-shot invaders and it would have no impact on this list, also if a costly spell is 30 fp, then it takes a minute to be able to cast it just from blue dew
@RamixTheRed23 күн бұрын
@Jimbobda1st I was talking about co-op, which still counts as PvE buddy Also, that's not how it works in real-world situations. Let's say you have a spell that costs 30 fp, but you cast your other spells throughout the fight, and now you're left with 29 FP. Before you would just have to bite the bullet and drink a flask, but with the talisman equipped you get just enough FP for an extra cast. This comes up *often* , especially in co-op

So I'm not sure how the game orders processes in regard to talisman activation, and I'm too Elden Ringed right now to do spur of the moment testing, but I'd argue that blue-feathered branch sword deserves at least C tier depending on how it triggers. If it boosts defense in response to a hit that would have killed you without the extra damage resist, then I'd say it would be worth using in at least some niche cases; i.e. you take a hit for 100 damage, you have 90 health and 10% damage resist, and the branchsword triggers at 20% health, blocking 60%(ignoring diminishing returns for defense for the sake of the example) of the remaining damage, you would theoretically take 70 of the now 90 damage(thanks to the hypothetical 10% resist), and the remaining damage would be reduced to 8, keeping you alive. However, this is a pretty specific way for it to work, and if it doesn't work this way or some other way to prevent one shots, then it probably is not worth using.
@HAVIN_aBLAST24 күн бұрын
30:07 in the examples you showed it's the Malenia's rune that's doing most of the heavy lifting. The godskin swadling cloth is honestly super underwhelming and an absolute downgrade compared to the pontiff's left eye in ds3 because in elden ring there is a cooldown between each proc. i think they implemented this because they didn't want the full heal glitch like in ds3 but this cooldown makes the heal speed just laughably low compared to the number of consecutive hits you're dishing out. if it were up to me i wouldn't even put this thing in B tier let alone this high.

The downside is wasting a talisman slot for a negligible difference, especially after dlc introduced a headpiece with a similar effect. You’re 100% better off using a crimson amber talisman instead

I never understood the design philosophy behind some of these niche effects. Why not just give infinite poise with the Talisman of Lords Bestowal for example? That wouldnt make it broken or anything, it would just make it actually useful in some ways.

Shabriri's woe is an easy S tier for me on STR builds. For online play it allows me to keep aggro for most of the fight enabling ranged players to spam away. For offline play you can keep Spirit Ashes like Latenna alive a lot longer, she does consistent and hard tracking attacks. If you want to be extra cheesy equip Shabriri's Woe while you summon Mimic Tear. If it also has a long weapon with Prayerful Strike (I like Golem's Halberd), it's incredibly hard to defeat and can consistently heal a large amount of health due to the extra poise. I've done a playthrough with that setup and you can just sit in a corny all comfy as it solos almost everything.

there's a whole lot of weapons, weapon skills, and talismans that restore hp, but there's only like 6 items that restore fp (that one craftable that restores fp and fills your sleep gauge over time, starlight shards, dung eater sword, blessed blue dew, the one that restores with crits, and the one that restores with kills) and I think blessed blue dew is probably the best of them
@Jimbobda1st23 күн бұрын
I don't think 1 fp every 2 seconds is worth a talisman slot, a flask easily fills most fp bars, and swapping a single flask from red to blue is much less commitment than swapping a talisman for 0.5 fp/s
@thatlittlemonstrosity24 күн бұрын
I still find it funny how they added a talisman that is only viable with blasphemous blade. Now you don’t even need to sacrifice defences for scorpion charm, you get a free boost on an arguably the easiest to use weapon skill. They could’ve at least added more magma based spells or skills or made a talisman that boosts powerstancing attacks (I know they are already broken but they added two-handed talisman so why not, maybe a smaller boost like 10%)
@brokensanity525224 күн бұрын
To be fair it's also great on the magma blade and magma warm scale sword. Still a pretty niche talisman tho
@thatlittlemonstrosity24 күн бұрын
@ I mean yeah, it buffs a lot but who really uses anything of it except blasphemous blade and magma wyrm scalesword. I think they tried making people play more with magma sorceries and skills because they were often overshadowed but because it includes blasphemous blade, they are still overshadowed, even more so than before
@brokensanity525224 күн бұрын
@thatlittlemonstrosity I mean it's still viable with those other spells and weapon skills, and the Blasphemous Blade is so OP that it's not even fun to use more than once. I could see it being really useful on any eruption build, somewhat useful on a dragon communion build, or even useful on a low to mid level split int faith build using the spells it benefits.
