@@JoyceMeng22 I loved this video…. This concept thiiis way of seeing the cognitive functions this feels really great!!! Like, focusing on the four functions mostly has made me grind my gears in my type discovery…. But like dominance in others at the same level of the secondary or tertiary spots brilliant that makes since… it’s not dissonant anymore it’s like you added a harmonic… now my brain is happy. I’ve got to read the Diamond booky thing first…. Top of the heap.

So glad that Dario and Joyce mentioned the Keys 2 Cognition- Cognitive Processes test! It definitely helped me to understand *why* I always felt like a type misfit, despite knowing intuitively that I was an I_FP. The test confirms that I have Fi, Ni, Ne and Se as my most developed and preferred functions (in order). The assessment results were so accurate and affirming of my empirical and internal experiences of personality/self! I now understand why I have always related *partially* to INFP, ISFP and INFJ type descriptions 😂. Thank you, guys 🙏🏾✨🩷📖!!!!!

Well put for INFJ! I really appreciate Dario’s (Dr. Nardi) input in terms of brain activity. I wish I wasn’t sick the last time he came to my city for EEG scans.

I think ENFP's Fe is not actually that strong in the way that is often perceived. What you get when you combine Ne (external, excited, ideas) with a feeling function second can seem like Fe, but I think it's quite distinct in how it's different. Usually with Fe doms who are the best example of Fe display, their eyes are totally focused on every expression you make, and they instantly react even unaware of them doing it. For example, when I had something my eye i looked the other was for not even a second and my Fe dom girlfriend immediately sort of adapts and subconsciously (as she later said she was not consciously aware of it) changed the topic to something that interests me. Then since we talked about it I tested it more often and each time I just look away or yawn or do anything like that she adapts and then when it happens 10 seconds later i tell her and she says she doesn't notice it. It's just so natural just like an Se athlete adapts to what other players are doing without really realizing it consciously. This all is very different with ENFP's who seem super focused on you one moment, but at the same time get in their own bubble when talking or something else catches their attention. If other things in the environment catch the attention of an Fe dom, they will still get back to you whereas the ENFP is into the next thing for 200% and might totally forget about you. They're like IP's in that regard that they are more focused externally, yet still Ti or Fi types that are kind of in their own bubble doing their own thing. They do not keep eye contact unless it's special moments or when they ar totally into you (like when they first meet you). After that they get more rambly and the more time progresses, the less aware they might become because they're used to you (It's the Si), but do not keep that immediate focus on you and your feelings. Sure, they care about your feelings,, but unlike Fe doms or Fe aux they are not aware of them every moment they interact with you. However, like all introverted functions they take the feelings they have with you in their backpack (Fi and some Si) and will likely think about that interact maybe months later, whereas FE is really in the moment, but more easily is distracted by another person that they interact with another moment.

Thanks for a fine personal example and I agree. That's why it's important to look for telltale signs, to distinguish a simulation of some of a function with the actual function. 🙂

ENFJ here. I would relate with this Ne curiosity. I find it foolish to not be curious about the whys of the world. Nice to self-confirm I’m healthy mentally. This is super cool to hear. Side Rant: I wish I could read Dr. Nardi’s direct research. Many people follow their auto-pilot brain as their consciousness self, rather than taking ahold of what their consciousness is, and where to expand their brain sub-consciously/consciously. I mean.. every component of the brain tells the brain, it’s the consciousness. In that case… Be aware of when your brain switches compartments of use; listening to the different brain tones when bias choices set It’s funny to see I have free-will without ever having free-will. The natural world works like a program too.

Dario demonstrates all the insufferable ways the 6th Function could be hell while being denied access, and then Joyce comes to its defence showing how great it can be if allowed to be utilized. I think in socionics, the 6th function has the same strength as the dominant but is not valued. but socionics has different though related definitions. This was a nice watch, we surely need a full taste of the Yin and yang of the functions

What does it matter if it's another model? If cogntive functions are real, there are only certain cognitive functions and it's like everyone sees the same accident, but everyone describes it a little bit different afterwards. So it's likely some or all parties are wrong, all are wrong, but they can not all be right as they're contradicting So it's likely that whoever you listen to as fas as it comes to typology, to assume they'll likely be wrong to some degree. So yes, absolutely doubt this comment too! ;)

@@PowerRedBullTypology I just thought it was incredible to see two systems converge to a similar conclusion. I think in socionics, its not even in the same position, it is in the 8th position but when you link the types, for example an intj equivalence in socionics has the 8th as Ti. same as what the mbti type would have as their 6th. now the 1st and the 8th are the strongest. I think they call it 4D. the others are at 3D 2D and 1D which has the weak functions

My guess that because culturally, in America at least, being a culture that values self and independence, the auxiliary which is said to take care of people, takes a hit and the critical 6th is more likely to come out, along with the phenomena of Looping.

I used to solve Physics questions verbally in my sleep, my roommate would wake up and write them down since I was better at it in my sleep is that fuzzy math….. kidding, but I used to use my intuition to solve math problems, but it’s hard to trace those sensory steps. Did Dario just drink from an electrolyte bottle? I’m trying to decide if this is from his Ni long term planning, or his Se last in not like diluting that… I mean also, I joke about putting an IV in and self cathing as a joke, but this is next level sensory isn’t real hilariousness😂.

@@TheAncientSpirits I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone drinking electrolytes from that kind of container unless they were recovering from being sick, you can drink them after working out, or to recover balance but yeah it was like watching a kid chug pedialyte, doesn’t happen every day. But, all Ixxjs when drinking something that isn’t coffee look like if we were to bring a cup of water to a mailbox and pour it in since you know it’s thirsty, but it looks bizarre drinking something and drinking coffee looks like filling up gas into your Tesla IxxJ hybrid…. It still runs mostly on electricity, but also wants to sort of look like the other cars still… a little bit sometimes. I bet my brain was solving the physics problems while I’ll slept like that one study of people playing video games, sleeping and then playing them again and they solved the levels in their sleep. I also once taught a friend who had a verbal/ linguistics level of a graduate student and a math/ logic scores at second grade math in college by using all verbal language explanations to help form her conceptual levels so that she could pass the class. It felt fairly easy to do and I hate algebra and grammar, but loved like trig, calc, diffi Q, and my hs math teacher graded my tests end to the beginning since I would usually get the last questions right and then miss a stupid warm up q like 2-4, or whatever. I did a year of engineering in college when I first went since ENTJ father so… and we were programming a basketball game using the Matrix program and we needed to plug in a factor to make the balls go in the hoop and I like divided two numbers and then said try .85 and it worked and then I had to work out what I did and that process took like an hour. I just feel things and go with it but it definitely has to make sense but I don’t care if it’s wrong yeah NE TE booom. But, also like I wonder if I’m using straight analysis to get to my math and logic because I know I’m not using logic centers to get to answers. It takes me longer to solve things sometimes too but I need enough data and then I’ll like eureka figure out things that have cooked for a decade there’s always music playing in my brain too from twenty years of orchestra. But, I have no idea what the pieces are called… I’ll know the time period and conductor if I know anything about it, but I remember what I was wearing and what the conductor looked like when we played it. Just throwing out data points to see if they make sense. But, anyway I think I’ve been using creative analysis to fit into NT and ST systems my whole life and I was trained for it so that might be why I can almost seem ESFP jumper, but I’m so used to how I sound sounding a bit much so I can hide most of it. When I took MBTI in HS I got ENFP and went oh shit, I just knew it and didn’t really want that life. So, then when I took it in engineering freshman year and my results came back ISTJ… I walked into the stairwell of our dorm, bawled and called my Dad to tell him that I really couldn’t do engineering anymore. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to come into my ExxP self yet, but I knew for sure I was NOT an ISTJ and had taken the test scared to be found out…. But the engineers know I was definitely a feeler and bombastic hahaha, if they were scared of me, they weren’t sure if I was a real person either ahhahahah. Poor things. My husband asked me if I got lost when we found me hanging with the engineers my business major INFJ turned Theology major. Our life has been an NF marble machine. But, yeah so in conclusion, do you think that I’m using verbal linguistics and analysis to solve upper level math concepts? Is my Ti just playing for funsies and showing up in my subconscious to solve logical problems? Like what the heck? Also, I don’t know if you should dilute the electrolytes or not, you look like you do a lot of yoga so maybe you need them? Read the label just in case.

Can't a somewhat inactive critic (6th) function be simply explained by an overactive child (3rd) function?
@winterbird4447
@winterbird4447 19 күн бұрын
That makes sense. As it isalways the opposite. So for ENFP for example. Te can knock out Fe. As Te and Fe have a really hard time functioning in the same space. So does Ti and Fi. Se and Ne and Si and Ni.

@TheAncientSpirits 18 күн бұрын
Absolutely. 6th function use must be aligned with the larger type pattern, and the 3rd function gets a final say over the 6th.

Hard to believe. You're suggesting that either Jung was lying about himself, or you magically know him better than he and his colleagues did. He and his colleagues -- people who knew type and knew him personally -- said the same thing: Introvert, Thinking and Intuiting. Almost any kind of hypothetical is possible, but *ethically* and based on the direct evidence, he was INT.

@@TheAncientSpirits What Kind of nonsense response is this? No One is saying anyone is lying nor is anyone suggesting that we know him better than he knew himself. And I don't know why you're bringing ethics into this, we're just having a conversation about a soft science which is highly subjective. Big Name Typologists can't even agree on what type certain celebrities are. Now what type Jung was is not some new topic of debate.The INFJ assessment of Jung's personality has been gaining traction for years. ANYTHING is going to evolve over time, certainly knowledge and what we understand conceptually. Carl Jung may have actually typed himself as either ISTP in childhood or INTP in adulthood. "Jung publicly identified his type as Introverted Thinking with Sensation (Ti-S-N-Fe) on one occasion and Introverted Thinking with Intuition (Ti-N-S-Fe) on another." This is what I've read, not what I've SEEN. But I will say that no one's self-assessment is infallible. We're all struggling to find ourselves. Jung reportedly never identified as anything but a Ti-dominant, an Ti (ITP) type. Which is what brings me to my highly subjective assessment that Jung was an INFJ with a particularly strong access to his tertiary Ti function. And How do I come to this conclusion? Because I'm related to someone like that and I've seen how that manifests close up. It looks like an INTJ or even an INTP but it's not. But Again, anything is possible.
