@Nathan-kk6lb3 жыл бұрын
@@SashGirl34 It’s made worse since Age of Calamity outright confirmed this was the case. In that version, the change in events due to time travel resulted in the king having a Guardian Shield on him during the Guardian attack that killed him in the “canon” timeline, which allowed him to block the laser and escape. Had he properly researched ancient technology instead of just relying on the Link/Zelda prophecy kicking in and fixing everything, they stood a good chance of repelling the initial attack enough to prevent the deaths of the champions, Link’s near-death, and the fall of Hyrule Castle. Remember, the game outright states that they went up against Calamity Ganon the first time with *zero* ancient weapons. The Guardian Weapons were all sealed in the shrines, and the Akkala team didn’t even develop Ancient Arrows (which, in game, are only slightly more expensive than bomb arrows) until fifty something years after the Calamity. On top of that, even the barely-funded research groups by the time of Link’s awakening (lol) had managed to (almost) solve immortality, in addition to Link essentially tripping into activating a dormant nationwide teleportation system (yeah, remember, they didn’t even have Travel Gates until Link turned the towers back on at the start of the game, that probably would have helped the Hylian army a good bit, wouldn’t you think?). Oh, and the only reason why Hyrule isn’t the technological Star Trek fantasy land the Sheikah tech hints at by the time of this game? The king from 10,000 years ago got paranoid and thought the Sheikah might use their technology to usurp him, and so they told them to go become farmers instead. Some of them agreed, but another sect then went off and became the Yiga Clan out of spite. Also, he made the brilliant decision to seal most of the remaining Guardians into those four big pillars you see around the castle and set them to pop up out of the ground automatically if Ganon returns...without thinking about what might happen if he learned to control the Guardians. So yeah, I guess bad decisions when it comes to technology seems to run in ol’ Bosphoramus’ family. Canonically, if either of them had been even *slightly* less paranoid, none of BotW would have happened.

So Link defeated 3 Silver Lynels and about 30 Bokoblins on his own without even carrying a shield and all he got was a scratch on the arm? AND he created the guardian graveyard at hateno by himself, ALSO without a shield or a bow? I'm sorry Link, i'm a disgrace to you. I don't deserve to play you.

Kass says when he sings his song "A dark force of destruction, many times undone" (Ganon) and "Two brave souls protect it, no matter the cost. A Goddess blood princess and a fearless knight, appear each age to fight the good fight" (Zelda and Link) Every age there's descendants of Link and Zelda (who are also named Link and Zelda) to stop Ganon when he rises to power again. It was like in Twilight Princess where you come across the skeleton of the Ocarina of time era Link and he teaches you some fighting techniques. As for the timelines, I think there's two. You know, I just realized why Zelda needed "The Power of Love" (hurl) to unleash her sealing powers. It's has nothing to do with wisdom. As many people have already pointed out, the moment that made her power appear has more to do with courage. But, you see, she already had plenty of wisdom inside her. She was a scholar, seeking to learn from the past. She also had plenty of power; what Daruk described as "a strong personality". What she didn't have, or at least not enough of, was courage. She didn't show that until that moment where she leapt in front of that guardian to protect Link. She needed the full Triforce to unlock her sealing powers. EDIT: Okay, I feel like I have to clarify something here: I never meant that Zelda HAD the Triforce. What I meant was that she needed to embody all three virtues that make up the Triforce - and the three golden goddesses - before she could use her own power.

@bushisback1125 жыл бұрын
So you guys are just going to ignore that it makes no sense for Zelda to miraculously have the power of the full triforce? Also I’m 99% sure the full power of the triforce would have been more than enough to easily wipe out Ganon and pretty much every ounce of malice in the world. Think before you make these ridiculous theories.
@bushisback1125 жыл бұрын
Zelda has always had the triforce of wisdom, Link the triforce of courage, and Ganon the triforce of power. How does Zelda all of a sudden have the power from the whole triforce? There are so many characters in this game with wisdom, courage and strength. Link himself goes through multiple trials involving wisdom courage and strength but never held the power of the full triforce except for when they make a wish with the actual triforce itself.
@whoinvitedthisguy51744 жыл бұрын
@@bushisback112 You know Link and Ganon don't have their Pieces of the Triforce in Botw. Search it up. So yes this is a perfectly balled and genius theory.

This Zelda sucks just like every single one of them. The only thing this Zelda has is a personality (unlike the others) but in contribution she's just as worthless as ever. It still highlights when Princess Zelda is the most worthless Damsel in Distress in all Video games, whereas every other Nintendo female are very strong and capable.
@Nuvendil7 жыл бұрын
Alpha Princess wat? She saves Link's life! And singlehandedly holds Ganon down for 100 years while link sucks his thumb in the Shrine of Resurrection. And she is the one who deals the final blow to Ganon. Not only is she NOT worthless, she is essential. The fact she grows to become awesome rather than just being great from the word go doesn't make her a worse character, it makes her a better one.
@gleamingroses29527 жыл бұрын
Saves Link's life? PFFF HAH! Don't make me laugh! My issue with that is she only just holds him back, this literally means that she isn't strong enough to defeat Ganon on her own. For example, I could hold someone back, but that doesn't mean I could be able to beat them, it just means they just have a moment of inactivity. It's literally just presented as a placeholder just so Link can explore the world and do all the work as usual while she just assists. She's never in a a game long enough to contribute any sort of signifigance. This is how Zelda's role in every Zelda game is, she shows up briefy during the games beginning gives Link exposition about Hyrule, the villain of the week shows up, kidnaps her and Zelda is NEVER seen again until the game's climax where the plot remembers she was kidnapped. Meanwhile the Player is off exploring Dungeons, Playing Mini Games, Collecting Heart Pieces. Zelda is forgotten during all of these events and then when it comes to the climax she's only important so it seems as if she has a role! Or even when she does show up, its sporadically and she either remains in a state of Petrification, hides in the background (like in Ocarina of Time) or just gives brief exposition before she gets kidnapped again! Sometimes she's basically just a Glorified McGuffin who only exists to be a living prop. Zelda has even destroyed Hyrule more than the villains. Let me explain some of her roles to prove my point. In Phantom Hourglass (the sequel to Wind Waker which is the same Zelda/Tetra) all she does is act snarky in the beginning, goes on the ghost ship gets turned to stone, when you see Tetra again its just there to show she was turned to stone, she stays that way for another large portion of the game, then when she turns back to normal she gets kidnapped by Bellum and that's it, that's her only contribution to the entire game! She's literally just there as a living prop just so Link has an excuse to beat an otherwise Generic Doomsday villain. Then there's her "A Link to the Past" incarnation which is the most worthless of them all. She gets imprisoned, has to be saved by Link, then she gets kidnapped again and her only utility is to be a collectable item no different than getting a dungeon item. This same version shows up again in "Oracle of Ages" and her only purpose is to be saved by Link, get kidnapped again by Twinrova to be used as a sacrifice, and that's it! So this one version of Zelda is kidnapped 4 times in her entire presences and contributes nothing but to be a living Prop. She's also worthless in Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time and both of the Four Swords games. so tell me again how Zelda isn't worthless? Princess Peach is a much more competent Princess.

I did the Zora quest first, and I didn't know the Champions' spirits were bound to the Divine Beasts, so I was unprepared for her appearance. And after seeing this memory, and talking to all of the Zora who remembered Link so fondly, my heart utterly broke at the realization that she'd been trapped, waiting this whole time.

i love zelda's voice. her japanese counterpart sounds like a little child, but (spoilers) she's seventeen in the game. this zelda sounds more like an age-appropriate person than a fragile little waif. if you're just judging by the first cutscene, she's SUPPOSED to sound stilted and insincere, because her heart isn't in the ceremony, and link just reminds her of her own failures. that's genuinely hard to do. this voice gives her an actual personality, and it fits her character. if you don't think she has range or emotion, compare the frog scene to the scene between her and the king.
@supremeoverlorde21097 жыл бұрын
I don't particularly mind any of the English voice actors to be honest, although some I like more than others. Zelda definitely grew on me though. She's obviously quite complex in this game and I think her voice actor displays that well.
@corrinflakes96597 жыл бұрын
+Supreme Overlorde the only voice performance in English I don't care for is Yunobo and Daruk, or at least some of Daruk, but Yunobo rubs me the wrong way. I like the voice acting overall however it doesn't reach the great levels of video game localization dubbing by Nintendo I've seen like Kid Icarus: Uprising or Xenoblade Chronicles.

The Zelda in BotW is my all time favourite. She has the most personality and is not merely someone who needs saving. She has a will of her own and is determined to follow her own path. Learning about the loss of the other champions and how much Zelda put herself threw trying to push forward facing her own failure while lashing out at link just makes her feel like she is literally alive. Kudos to the english VA as well for doing so well.

19:57-20:46 when I unlocked this memory, I remember sobbing because of how relatable it was. I spent over 100 hours in BOTW avoiding the memory quest. And when I unlocked this one at the Spring of Power - it clicked that this was a Zelda that I actually wanted to save. Seeing Zelda struggle with her power, and her feelings of inadequacy, make her such a likeable character. I think Nintendo wanted with these memories, was for you to feel empathy with Zelda and do whatever to save her. Rather than spending more time like I did exploring the amazing open world of BOTW

memory 16 didnt really hit that hard when i played, since all the memories are out of order and you dont really know zelda well. But watching in order i really realize how much responsibility zelda felt and how scary this situation is for her. Also thinking about that final cutscene where she says "do you remember me?" obviously it's funny if you didnt watch any of the memories because the answer is no. but when you know her whole story, everything she lost, all of her friends, her father, her kingdom, and being in battle with ganon for 100 years, link is literally all she has left from her past life.

BlockSquad1000 I just think that his voice sounds like he doesn't even know what he's saying. Especially in the memory where he talks to Zelda. He sounds like he doesn't know his voice is acting an ancient king. He just says the lines with his natural voice which of course it's good talking with your natural voice but if it doesn't fit the character then you might as well try different actors.

For the Spring of Power memory, I love that Link just stands there, silently meditating, or just lying in wait for the Princess. The little detail that even though his eyes are closed, he nods his head backwards at Zelda, listening to her preach to the Goddesses. In my opinion, this is a sign of him empathizing for Zelda for a brief moment. He even picks up his sword and looks at her as she wept not being able to unlocked the sacred power.
