I really like how accurate this is to the speedrun route of the time, even little details like shooting an arrow to lure the bokoblin make an accurate bullet time bounce on the bokoblin can be found. It’s essential to the speed run, see he actually did it sup optimally, if he held the u for exactly 2.5 frames longer, the rng manipulation on the bokoblin would be just slightly better and he’d save approximately 3.4 seconds on the first one, and on the second he needed to hold it for half a frame less and the cutscene would have skipped

Something I love about breath of the wild speed runs are that there’s an implication that after witnessing all his friends and loved ones die Link is left with a burning rage that allows him to keep his memories (a bit like how Maul was able to keep himself alive through his anger in the clone wars). One thing I like to think when watching a Breath of the Wild speedrun is that Link didn't actually forget anything during his 100 year nap and is just really pissed at Calamity Ganon. All there is in Link's mind is rage that's been festering for a century. It hasn't even registered to him that almost all his friends are dead because all he is thinking about is pummeling Ganon until there's nothing but a stain on the ground with whatever he finds along the way.
