In today's episode, I discuss What the ALL 22 Coaches Film Said About Jonathan Gannon Play Calling on Monday Night Football. It was A Very Well Called Game, and I thought Gannon did A Great Job on 3rd Down. He Allowed James Bradberry and Darius Slay to Play An Aggressive Brand of Football.

The first drive when I saw slay lined up man to man I was very happy. I agree with you on Gannon switching it up. I think he will get more creative throughout the year, go eagles!!!

What's up Brandon! Absolutely. He was far more creative than I thought. My original concept was to show you guys the man coverage snaps. Then, I was like no, I need to show everyone what he was doing on 3rd down. I hope he carries this aggressive and creative nature onto Washington. Carson will give you shots at turnovers if you make him uncomfortable.

great info as always Steve. As the season continues, and the players and Gannon get more comfortable growing. I am hoping Gannon will trust his vets like Slay and Bradberry more and can run more man coverage and that might open up more opportunities of adding 1 more player to blitz. This might be where we see Riddick used more as a pass rusher. it is still early in the season, and who knows how Gannon and our defense will be going forward. But extremely happy so far Awesome vid as always, thanks Steve

What's up Irish Steve! Absolutely. I think this is a big test, again. We have another formidable receiving core in: McLaurin, Dotson, and Samuel. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Gannon designs this one. Is he going to carry Slay on McLaurin? The Dotson vs Maddox/Garner Johnson matchup is going to be interesting too. Not to mention, if Carson has learned to take check downs, they got good receiving backs in Antonio Gibson/J.D. McKissic. I'm really excited about this match up.

What's up Wendell! Thank you. Even for me, my favorite show growing up was NFL Matchup. I loved seeing the game broken down like that. Guys like Ray Didinger and Greg Cossell have been my idols since I launched this channel. After I started on KZbin, I Grew into a huge fan of guys like J.T. O'Sullivan, Kurt Warner, and Baldy's channel too. I still think with the advancement of the NFL into more spread concepts, voices like Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, and when he's ready Can Newton could be very important. I would love to see those guys build channels around their insights into the position, and I would love to hear their thoughts on how the game has changed post 2012. Also... If you want an up and coming channel to check out, there is a new KZbin(r) named Dubbs the O-Line Guru. He has appeared on my channel a couple of times, and I know him personally. He is a former collegiate center from Charleston Southern. He just launched his channel, and he understands the trenches very well. I'm excited to see where he goes with his channel as he gets comfortable, and finds his voice on KZbin. Coming up soon I'm going to do some live call in shows. It's been a while since I've had an opportunity to just let the community run the show. I always enjoy talking with everyone. I feel like this could be one of those special seasons.

Biggest thing I saw on the defense was finally a willingness to change, experiment, try different coverages and fronts than we have seen from him. This likes like the first game that he said I have all these shiny new toys, let's see what they can do. The schemes let the play makers play to their strengths

What's up Ray! Absolutely. I walked away from the ALL 22 film saying, that's it! This is what I was hoping to see from Gannon. If he keeps this up, his name is going to get me turned a lot this off-season at every spot with a coaching vacancy.

Love his play calling. Now let's see if he can keep it up for the rest of the season. Please give Davis more snaps and unleash Riddick and sweat.

What's up Latif! Absolutely. He showed us that he can do it. Now, we just need consistency. I think he has a lot of trust in the secondary, and that is leading him to get creative. I'm hoping he has a creative game plan in hand for Carson. I'm looking forward to this game.

Gannon's concepts on defense does work. His philosophy is very similar to Leslie Frazier and the Tampa 2, Seattle cover 3 schemes. The key is throwing overload blitzes in there at the right time and being able to get more pressure when only rushing four. I think the way he's deploying his talented group of DBs is very good. I don't like the way they're defending the run right now
@CoachHeitter
@CoachHeitter 2 жыл бұрын
What's up Sean! I like Leslie Frazier's scheme a lot. To some extent, I see what you're saying. Frazier likes to use a lot of post snap disguises. His scheme is very much safety centric, and that aspect mirrors Mike Zimmer's scheme. However, particular to this season, Frazier has not had a high percentage blitz game. Last season, he was far more aggressive. It's almost like Frazier and Gannon swapped their aggression. Although, to be fair, most defensive coordinators want to rush 4-5 players, and drop 6-7 guys into coverage. It's really just a matter of your personnel. I know people are down on the D-Line, and the lack of sacks is absolutely frustrating. With that said, our D-Line played very well Monday Night. Most of the turnovers started with pressure from Reddick, Sweat, Hargrave, B.G., and Fletch. I feel like the levee is going to break on our pass rush. We have had two opponents that were committed to getting the ball out in under 2.5 seconds. I don't think that will be the case this Sunday, and I can see the sack numbers exploding following this game.

I learned a lot of football stuff as usual from your cerebral breakdowns. Looks like JG really stepped up(the whole team did) in a big time game and now the test is to do it all over again on a short week. We all know that Wentz on his worst days is a guy that's prone to make mistakes, but if we get callous he's also a guy that can make stuff happen so the defense has to be on its toes again and thing is, I have more confidence this week that at the very least, they won't break.
@CoachHeitter
@CoachHeitter 2 жыл бұрын
What's up Superhero! Thank you. I'm looking forward to that matchup. I honestly think Washington has the second best squad in the division, behind us of course. Their receivers are pretty good, but that O-Line is already an issue for them. This could be a big time Haason Reddick, Josh Sweat, and Javon Hargrave game.

What's up Don! Me thinks you're right. 😂 On a serious note, you're correct. He clearly trusted Bradberry and Slay to hold up against a very formidable receiving core. We have another formidable receiving core coming up in McLaurin, Dotson, and Samuel. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Gannon approaches this game.

What's up Jonathan! What's crazy is, I started out wanting to show everyone the 14 man coverage snaps. However, once I started the ALL 22, I switched to 3rd down defense. I was shocked at how aggressive Gannon was in this game. I owed him a video that was positive, and pointed out the switch up he gave us.

Gannon did good The Dline is pretty much getting 0 pressure and its infuriating either the coaching isnt there or it's under utilization of players dropping Reddick into coverage is dumb and not letting Jordan play atleast 50% of snaps is dumb
@CoachHeitter
@CoachHeitter 2 жыл бұрын
What's up Tpuff! I'm not even going to try and defend the Haason Reddick dropping into coverage 4-6 snaps a game thing, I don't get that one either. I get dropping him 1-2 snaps a game, just to be multiple. However, he is dropping him more often than I thought he would. In terms of Jordan Davis, his pass rush ability is holding him back. However, you do have a fair point on 2nd down. He should be playing more often on 2nd down. I would think once we come out of the bye week, that's right before we play Pittsburgh, I feel that's when we will see them ramp up his snaps.

My gym teacher was talking about Jalen hurts he said that by week 8 we will all be crying about him being bad and I told him by 8 week we will be number one in the division and in the conference What are your thoughts on that take I looked at the schedule and it’s a realistic possibility

What's up Sydney Family! I feel like this could be a game where we see Reddick go off for big numbers. I feel like it's inevitable that he is going to have one of those multi sack games. Seems like a good place to make that prediction because Carson likes to hold the ball, and it's asking a lot for that line to block Reddick and Sweat for over 3 seconds.

What's up Wayne! The crazy thing is, even when his system had my blood boiling, I always recognized he was a smart guy. You could tell in his press conferences that he eats and sleeps football. However, after watching the ALL 22 on this game, you might be right. If he keeps this up for the majority of the season, he will be a hot name for coaching vacancies.

The only thing that bothers me is playing to Reddick’s weakness instead of his strengths. Should t be dropping into coverage. History shows he’s not successful. He is when rushing the passer which is why they brought him in anyway
@CoachHeitter
@CoachHeitter 2 жыл бұрын
What's up Stony! I agree. I'm not too sure why we're dropping him into coverage 4-6 times a game. I knew he would be asked to do it, but I thought it was going to be 1-2 times a game.
