Hello Josh, My 4c I’ve changed both seats I have Tillet carbon seats and the fabric and stitching I helped create you will use two sided tape to secure the top and bottom pieces to the seats and you can use the original seat brackets the carbon seats are not comfortable especially with the racing harness but they are fun and a great look.I also have the center muffler I added a FIA flashy rear light plus I have a Capristo set up and defuser not a Koshi defuser.Your car looks great I kind of get where your coming from hopefully you’ll have the best tuner you can find to upgrade your ECU or get the hybrid ECU. Canada v US I also have AlfaWorks 2.0 conversion and it’s been a nightmare beware of bad mechanic shop owners and tuners.

You do a good job of "presenting to camera"! Lil tip on track driving with your current seat: Use the dead pedal to push yourself back into your seat. It'll help reduce the lateral weight transfer through turns until you get your racing seats.
@DrPyro2k4 жыл бұрын
Even then, he is probably pulling 1.1 to 1.2G in the corners and a touch more when braking... You are more worried about holding yourself in position than maximizing corner speeds. It is NOT fun to hold yourself into place with the 4C....
@carproblems85474 жыл бұрын
I can assure you I was using the dead pedal to it's fullest potential. If you're pulling significant Gs through a corner, along with trying to manage the manual steering, the complete lack of seat bolstering is an issue.
@RobertKarlBerta4 жыл бұрын
I have the race seat option with Alcantara centers so that holds you in better. I also use a CGLock device. Finally....tilt the seat to the middle position in front and lowest in the back....makes a huge difference in comfort, keeping you from sliding forward and also slightly lowers you to give better view of dash display (I am 6'1"). Seats with more bolstering would be nice if you track a lot but makes getting in and out of the car much more difficult and may require a removable steering wheel mod.

Get an F430 Scuderia......it's more attainable, has the same basic engine, and I would argue the driving experience is better than 458 Speciale. Keep a bigger following gap and you'll have less problem from debris from vehicle ahead hitting your car. You never said how wide the wheels are and how much wider than stock? I'd go with Forgeline 17" all the way around......yes, higher profile in the back to get power down better off slower turns. Great street tire.....I run them on my '99 Civic daily driver and they're fine in the rain. Hardcore track tire.....Nitto NT01. I think KW Variant 3 coilovers would have been a better choice. Seat.......Bride Gias is a reclinable, comfortable seat that holds you better than most fixed back seats. Maybe Recaro. NRG are similar and much less expensive but not as comfortable or quite as well bolstered. Harnesses......Schroth six points. Instead of harness bar......roll bar. You don't lose any room and you need roll protection.......especially since you're using harnesses and it's a spyder. Since you're using harnesses get a HANS device. Nexgen or Schroth are other options. Depends what you find is more comfortable. This Alfa would be a great Sears Point car. For a horsepower track like that, the Huracan is a much better choice.

Great informations about the 4C. I just bought one. I’m wandering about few things that you have changed. First, the brake pads. Brakes are indeed not that great compare with a 911. But do the Tarox squeals a lot ? I do not intend to track the car , except on occasional basis. What about the steering block spacers. Does that involve lot of work? Also, I’m not sure I understood the benefit of that modification. Does that prevent the car to « dance « on the road ? I is prone to do that. Finally, where did you get the sold motor mounts ? Best regards. Love Mosport.
@carproblems85474 жыл бұрын
I don't find that they make any noise. The blocks basically change the angle of the suspension, adjusting the camber, caster and toe. If you check out the links in the description, there's more info on everything there.
@RobertKarlBerta4 жыл бұрын
Join ALFA 4C Forum for answers to your questions. I go by RKBerta there and am a Super Moderator. Brake pads make a difference on track going from stock street pads to race pads at expense of a lot more noise and not working great on street as they don't warm up....properly setup there aren't many cars that can match a 4C braking on track. Some like the AW spacers, others don't. They add more caster mainly and you can also get versions to add more negative camber. ranging from street to full race A good alignment to optimum specs and better tires than the stock PZeros make a huge difference. and may be all you need.

Running a 6 point harness without a HANS device is dangerous. It meaningfully increases the chances of a Basilar skull fracture in the event of an impact as your body is fully restrained. Pls do a bit of research on this and stay safe.
@RobertKarlBerta4 жыл бұрын
EvanKeel....You are correct. VERY dangerous to use a 6 point harness without a HANS device. The stock seat lap belt on a modern car is designed to give a bit to prevent this danger. I see a lot of people who put in race harnesses and think that it is safer.....and that is not correct without the HANS device. I am not saying a stock belt is better than a race harness and would be better in a race car....it isn't but the entire system must be used. Before you had to have a roll bar or cage to connect the HANS. Now they have anchor systems that you wear that work great. Please research this.

Very nice mods, I probably have about 3/4 of them done myself. And YES, get a real seat & harness!!!! It is THE best mod for track use (apart from the 17/18 stagger for better tire selection and pads). Tillet has some nice options for the 4C. I have the Technocraft seats, which are great (full CF), but the company is too big of a pain to deal with.
@carproblems85474 жыл бұрын
How are those seats? They don't look like they have much in the way of bolstering.
@DrPyro2k4 жыл бұрын
@@carproblems8547 The stock seats have about 2" of side bolster at mid thigh. The Technocraft have roughly 4" at thigh, I believe the Tillet are roughly the same. Plus it has much more support around the ribcage to lean against than stock. You are significantly bigger than I, so you need to find one you fit (I'm 6ft 180lbs, but not very fit). I got mine ages ago because a buddy of mine bought the driver seat but didn't fit. Plus I have a coupe, and need the headroom with helmet (mine are hard bolted to the floor -no slider)

Love your channel and your 4C. I really want to get a 4C but unsure about its reliability and also, I live in Midtown Toronto which I have no garage. Really worry about how will it withstand the harsh Canadian weather if it will be parked outside. Although there are many 911s in my neighborhood parked outside year round. Any hiccup with your 4C so far? I heard quite a few people have issues with the transmission.
@carproblems85474 жыл бұрын
I would not call the 4C a great car for the Canadian winter. It's also not a great car in traffic. On a good road or on track, it's amazing, but as a daily driver, especially in harsh weather, it's highly compromised.

I don't know if I would have my car if I had to park outside.I live in Michigan but my car goes in hibernation in Winter to avoid driving in snow and dealing with road salt. As far as reliability....they are pretty much proving to be bullet proof. You can run them on track all day even in boiling temperatures and they don't overheat or go into limp mode like a LOT of cars today.The trans issues are rare....mainly the earliest examples that simply needed a TCU reflash which was done under regular service visits. No recalls at all either. My 2015 Launch Edition was bought new and still love it. There are a few Canadian owners....you can go to the ALFA 4C Forum and find them. Generally if you go from the windshield forward...both fenders, bumper and hood, it will run around $2000 or less. That is the minimum amount I would go with. If you go the entire car figure about $5000+. And yes....PPF for any car as low and with so much forward facing body is the first thing I would get. Mine has saved mine several times from rock chips and scratches. It won't prevent everything of course but does a damn good job for 80% of the time. It is also self healing so a scuff will self cure when exposed to sunlight or a heat lamp.
