Moddiy has super flexible silicone jacket cables that are even lower profile than this and the even slimmer 180* one. I used it to fit my 4090 FE with only 15mm of clearance in my Sliger Cerberus X and no bending at all to fit it. The cable total height from the plug to how it naturally hangs is like 12.5mm. These are great too but for those who are space co strained by these massive gpus

If nvidia sends out a pigtail with 3 or 4 ends, that is the one to use to have full warranty for the product, not by using a 3rd party unit. My 4080oc does just fine. I had a 3090ti before that, but that card toasted it self, not the cable how ever.

Most motherboard plugs and cables could be routed behind the mobo with some adapters like this, especially nasty looking cables like the IO front panel and it's tiny headers. Companies like Asus overcharge on their motherboards to not have any solution on the IO

Their delay was that other solutions didn't meet their rigerous requirements so they had to custom-tool hardware to make it themselves, adding a few months' delay. But yeah, surprised we in general haven't seen this hit the market in the 3000 series days.

I've been on the pre-order list for a 180 degree version for months, finally got mine plus a cablemod 4-into-1 12VHPWR cable this week for my 4090. Unfortunately it looks like I may have got a dud, the card will hang when both are used but when just the cable without the 180 degree adapter is used it works absolutely fine. Yes it was pushed in all the way. No it didn't have any bend or stress on it. It would just get warm to the touch and fail even with light stress testing. Harsher testing like Furmark it would hang within 5 minutes. But just the cable? Rock solid. I've requested an RMA. Don't get me wrong I love the quality of their cables and I think they're a good company, I'm just reporting my single case use of a failure.

Got a 180 'B' variant for my 4090 Suprim X. Very happy with how it looks and performs. Only thing I will say is thst the metal body of the connector itself gets quite warm, but nothing alarming.

The plastic around the 8 pin connectors and the connector on the gpu itself are cool to the touch. Don't know if we're being overly cautious, but the 4090 is an expensive piece of kit!

Nothing to worry about if it is warm, your 180 connector will prevent any sparks (electric arc), sparks are extremely hot and can melt plastic, kill the card and even start a fire. Always use the 90° or 180° adapters and you should be safe.

UPDATE: DO NOT USE THEM! I used this the 90 A Variant in Silver for my Asus 4090 OC in combination with the Asus Cable Solution to be save and guess what. The so great Cablemod 90 Degree Adapter burned! It burned so badly in fact that the power connector of the card and the Adapter molted together!

That adapter sticks out even more then the plug on the original cable... An even better solution that everyone wants would be if the gpu manufacturers put the inlet on side of the card, so it would point towards the front of the case. Most cases would have a slot for cable management right there and you could easily hide the cable.

You can bend the cable so it's more flush than these, but you're putting a LOT of stress on the thing then and making it ever more likely it'll come loose from the pins and cause an arc.

I per-ordered one of these when they made the announcement and got my adapter a week or so ago. It's a Variant -A 90 degree using it on my ASUS TUF 4090 and it works/fits perfectly. The metal back plate on the adapter is supposed to act as a little heat sink if you read the online instructions from scanning the QR code on the plastic wrapping.

Cable mods should have one store page for this adapter and make selecting the variant you wish to purchase a required field to make the “add to cart” button interactive. That way you have to make the choice and it forces you to see that there are multiple variants, hopefully inspiring further research and avoiding the purchase of the wrong variant

This is why power should be part of the socket onto the motherboard.. just redesign the motherboard next gen where you can power the motherboard via slot solution.. so the power supply connects to the motherboard via a nice power socket and run power rails to sockets.. mark my words.. this will be the next move with motherboards.

I've been using the 180 degree adapters for 8-pin for years. Both the clearance and aesthetic difference are unreal. If you have a vertical GPU, just nothing seems to be sticking out of it and you don't need to bother buying custom PCI-E power sleeved cables, because they won't be visible anyway so it's cost-efficient too. There are literally no downsides.

@@GreenTurts My GPU power cable is tucked behind the vertical GPU and exits the front chamber immediately below the card, case is black, stock cables are black, so the only way you could see anything is if you shone a flashlight on that specific stretch of cabling from the front of the case, because not even RGB lighting makes the cable visually apparent. I don't have a Hyte case, so maybe the GPU there is more offset to show more of the business between the GPU and the motherboard, in that case, sure, it would be warranted.

I have the 4090 and was using the hyte y60 but the gpu fans sit too close to the glass so after accepting the waist of money i bought the o11 dynamic evo after some research got it all set up and it doesnt even come with the vert gpu mount so i put the 4090 in normal and boom still pushing on glass. Funny enough i seen this video and ordered the 180 right away good shit

Hey Jay, you got time over the next few months to consider doing a challenge build? I'd like to see the smallest possible form factor build that can smash a demanding game, like hogwarts legacy or something, at 4k 60+ frames. Then show us the thermals ect, and ramble on about how chassis can improve. I'm not building a new PC or anything, I just think it would be interesting. Does Jay already have a video of the smallest and most powerful PC he's ever built?

Cool that they offer a lot of options, but the only one I would use click in and down the back of the card sticks out so far it is puzzling. You can see Jay get a bit confused over and over because this system is just trash tier. I think this solution is so convoluted and even when it looks best it doesn't look great. Not sure who this is for? Also why isn't there a black, wtf this didn't come from CableMod this looks like cheap stuff from Wish.

I'm assuming they have a heatsink on them because Pluging into a adapter also increases resistance. So if a slight wobble can cause a meltdown I'm assuming a adaptor will also increase the Heat
