Tokyo is all you need. I have a kansai accent (specifically south osaka) and im trying to make myself sound like im from tokyo. Some people just cant comprehend kansai accents so. When learning japanese its always gokd to start with tokyo because its the most grammatically correct :)

I like the South Oosaka. It's so badass. It reminds me to one dialect of my native language. In Javanese, Solo dialect is cute as Tokyo, and in Jombang dialect, esp. Sumobito is fast as South Osaka, I am is from Jombang. When my mother angry to me, I didn't understand what actually she says.

I grew up in Kanto my whole life, had to take the Tokyu-Toyoko line to school every day. The dialect difference was subtle but I did not realize how serious it was until now! Thank you for this video!

I always wish that for this kind of accent comparison video, there is a universal sentence that is then spoken in the many different accents. Something like a verbal version of "the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog", if you get my gist. Such a universal sentence spoken in different accents I believe will help pinpoint the differences between the many different accents. As it is right now, just about the only obvious thing is that some accents are faster or slower, but it's extremely difficult to tell is an accent pronounces R sounds or if an accent is prone to using certain vowel sound such as "a" etc. But thanks for the video regardless. Too many animes I watch seem to speak only Tokyo, so this is a good start in learning about the other accents.

mr. ikr... im assuming that this is from what this guy "thinks" of how English spoken by native speakers sounds like, but then thats just his imagination goes too far end up with these strong unusual accents... or hes just trying to make it funny as his Japanese dialects accents(not the pronunciations though) also over exaggerated as well... idk but annoying ah なんか…むかつくねん。

Osaka dialect like one of the dialects of the Javanese language namely the Ngapak dialect. fast pronunciation, high intonation at the end of the sentence. Sometimes it makes me laugh. and that was the beginning of my interest in learning Japanese language
