It's very common for Mets fans to also be Jets fans, but it's not a requirement or anything. Plenty of us root for the Giants, the Bills, or (especially in Connecticut) the Patriots, and there are also those of us-like me-who don't support any NFL team in particular.

How big are these new ballparks? It seems home runs can go out a lot easier than they used to. From when Roger Maris hit 61 home runs in 1961 it took nearly 30 years in American league before another player (Cecil Fielder) hit 51 in 1990. And during that same time span in the national league, only 2 players Willie Mays and George Foster hit as high as 50 homeruns in a season. Now it seems like every year someone is hitting 50 home runs. It seems like baseballs are a lot more lively; bats are more compact; stadiums are smaller; pitchers are not as good; catchers don't call the right pitches anymore. Let's hope Pete Alonzo did it all clean.
