Been a Mets fan since 1968, I was 7 y/o and remember the 69 Team and WS well. I was a season ticket holder from 83 to 88 so I know what it’s like to experience post season play. The 86 team kind of ruined baseball for me because there hasn’t been a Mets team since that I can identity with nor one that matched my love and appreciation for the, so I divorced them just before Covid hit. I haven’t watched more than a few innings since, nor have I checked the standings or followed the Mets in any way, shape or form, until the double header against the Braves. I still won’t watch the game live, partly because I feel like I don’t deserve it, and more so that I jinx them. I’ve been watching these games after it’s over and let me tell you something. The 2024 Mets have something going on. The vibes I’m getting and feelings I have are similar to that of 1984, and even 86 with some of these post season come from behind wins. In a way I feel like I found a long lost love who came back in my life. I needed for a Met team to come out of the shadow of the 86 Mets and this just might be the start of it. These guys are fun to watch. There is no quit in them and they play hard. Tremendously focused, in the batters box and on the field. Congratulations Met fans, you deserve this.
