Patagonia's Torrentshell jacket is amazing. Was wearing it in Alaska recently with a Patagonia silk weight base layer t-shirt and a Snap-T fleece sweatshirt for insulation. Was warm and dry. The Torrentshell doesn't breathe that well so I was amazed at the end of the day when I got home and changed clothes to find my skin was perfectly dry, my t-shirt and fleece were dry, but the inside of the Torrentshell was totally wet!

I really love to watch your videos. I’ve ridden in Switzerland, and I highly recommend that you buy the Rega insurance. It’s pretty cheap for a year and if something happens to you they’ll chopper you out at no charge. Well worth it. I had it for 3 years and fortunately never used it. But I believe that if they have to medivac you out of the Swiss mountains they’ll gladly do it but the bill will come. Look into it, it’s good summer or winter. Hope you get to someday do the ride from Engelberg to Melchsee-Frutt, I think you would love it. Take the train from Lucerne to Engelberg. Ride over the mountains Melchsee-Frutt. There you have to take the bus down to the train station or ride the road, I would not recommend the road. There might be a trail all the way to the bottom, but I don’t know about it. Stay safe! I don’t travel to Switzerland any more but look it up Rega.ch.

Good day to you, Mr. Kennedy! let's play bikes! 1:30 - Of course, the obligatory pre-breakfast candy. Haha. 3:51 - Bike friendly everywhere, man. That's the place to be. Even a place for your bikes on the train. 3:54 - Dude, *I* want to be friends with Darco at this point! Haha! 4:02 - So you'r riding next to Lago Bianco at this point? 5:43 - Queue scenery. 6:45 - So the trail actually goes through the terrace of this little restaurant? 9:33 - Whoa! That is so cool. I know for a fact that I'd be wanting my DSLR camera for that. That must have been something to experience in person. 10:13 - This terrain reminds me of northern AZ. Like around the Mogollon Rim. 10:30 - Now that looks steep! 12:29 - Haha! That fence looks like an M. C. Escher drawing! 14:30 - Don't you hate that? You get gorgeous scenery but you can't look at it without stopping otherwise you will totally die. 14:39 - I have to ask this. Was that a turnstile? In the middle of nowhere? On a mountain bike trail? Am I missing something? 15:16 - I am very envious, to a degree (envy is one of the seven sins, right?). I know I'm happy for you that you get to experience all of this. And I would like to get out there to see this for myself, as well. That scenery is such a marked change from what we get in southern AZ. All of that water, green foliage, and the interesting landmarks (see 9:33). I hope one day to get my wife and kids out there to Europe to experience it. My wife and I both have lineage that reaches back to Germany. I'd like to see it someday. Brian, I will continue to be appreciative of the journey you are sharing here. You're an inspiration. Thanks for bringing us along. I always look forward to your videos. I do hope to meet up with you one day. Until next time, stay upright and keep the rubber side down, my friend.

Yep, pretty sure Lago Bianco was right next to the train station! Yep, trail goes right through the terrace!
@BrianSchade20167 жыл бұрын
Dude, sorry if my commenting style overwhelms or makes it hard to respond to specifics. I hope it's not a bother.
@Bricktop7847 жыл бұрын
+Brian Schade yeah, in farm country we sometimes get these turnstiles you see at 14:35 to keep cattle from leaving their enclosures. They're easy enough to pass for hikers, but nobody thought of mountain bikers back in the days when these were placed. Haven't seen one as treacherous as this one yet though!
@BrianSchade20167 жыл бұрын
Luke thanks for that explanation. I didn't consider the idea of cattle. It's fascinating to see the various different ways people come up with to control cattle. Although admittedly, I don't see a fence line here. And it seems that the cattle could easily move past this turnstile. I appreciate the explanation. Thanks!
