You are one of the reasons I learnt to code. When I was younger I used to copy your old projects with purple rain or droplets animations and I loved them. Although I didn't really focus on programming or computer-science I went to a pure mathematics college. Still, your influence on my career choice was significant 😊

I think if I was going to be stuck on a deserted island for some unknown period of time, and I had to hypothetically choose a single website whose entire content I could download to keep me happily occupied, it’d be the coding train. Dan, you are just truly a wonderful person and what you’re still doing after so many years is just endlessly inspiring, mate. From Perth Western Australia, sending you an awkward fist bump/handshake eventually devolving into a tearful hug and the need for security to be called ❤❤❤

This is awesome! Ive been watching since ~2015/16 and I love that youve grown so much! in 2015 i had just started college as a CS major. Im now a SWE at a large tech company! And I do have to say I learned a lot from you! To be honest, I never watched to learn. I LOVED your personality and style. The learning was a side affect. By the time I started watching you I was already past the basics so the stuff I learned was approaches to problems. It was interesting to see how you approached something and thinking about how I would have done it. Andd since I spent hours watching your videos, I sometimes picked up a thing or two. For instance the the QUADTREE is something I had never heard of but it was a fascinating data structure. And one day I realized that would be perfect for a little side project I wanted to do Anyway thank you for everything and may this Coding Train forever pick up steam :))

Hello, I wonder what you have there? A climate spiral executed in 3d virtual zoom? It turned out pretty epic on a grand scale and now it’s clear why the videos haven’t been released for a long time For me personally, due to the fact that I can’t remember the authors of the processing language, I always think that you are the author of this wonderful development environment, in general, processing in my opinion is not a dirty development environment and not overloaded with all sorts of unnecessary tools, it is easy and understandable, after learning object-oriented languages, processing like a pencil instead of a chisel and a hammer, many thanks to the developers for such a convenient tool, and to you for making videos and teaching programming on the highest level! You should have called your site "Daniel Shifman's show" about how he masterfully owns the code, knows all the reserved words, and can easily switch to an old computer from the 60s and easily depict a 3d cube in assembler.

@BrunoMussoi Жыл бұрын
There is a problem with the subtitles. It seems the whole video text is displayed at once, during its first second, it doesn't even fit in the screen. Then after that, no subtitles for the rest of the video
@TheCodingTrain Жыл бұрын
I'm not seeing this on my end, if you want to email help@thecodingtrain.com with a screenshot of the settings of the player and what it looks like maybe I can look into it.
@BrunoMussoi Жыл бұрын
@@TheCodingTrain Oh, i was about to e-mail the issue. I found out it was just a small bug from youtube on my end, it seems the video was set to auto translate, from english to english (?) not sure why. Changed it to the main subtitles and it worked, and that translated option is not even there anymore.

"I'll play the devil's advocate here. Your work deserves better. You have a great personality, and you're fun to watch. Frankly, your videos are really valuable. However, the website is unfortunately chaotic and disorganized. There are a few aspects that I like about it, such as how it reflects your style, the graphics, and the use of monospaced text. They are all directly connected to your KZbin channel. But when it comes to navigation and making sense of the website at first glance, this company did a horrible job-unless the mission is to confuse visitors. I would suggest reconsidering the layout. Here's a functional method for testing: Give someone who has never seen your website before a piece of paper and ask them to make a relative mark on that paper EACH TIME their eyes scan or jump to a new element on the page (including the multi-face images). If the marks are too numerous and scattered across the page, then you know..."

Absolutely love your videos, the way you teach and present information is something to be strived for by teachers around the globe. Unfortunately the site is a miss for me, the design firm tried to go way overboard with the "train" theme via the ticket layout and the site is entirely too difficult to easily navigate when looking for your videos and breaks so many of the ingrained ways people look for information on a webpage. The style itself is neat, I love the characters and the theme, but the layout leaves more to be desired.
