This looks like an ideal sized dog for most American families. Please do not ruin this breed turning it into an overdone brachycephalic breed requiring c section to exist. Love the moderation. No need for extreme heads and other issues. Keep it natural and moderate!

I agree, awesome that they did this. But the original CQD shouldn't look anything like a bulldog or mastiff, it should look more like a short, squat and roughly built Thai Ridgeback Dog. Heavy like a pitbull, but no wrinkles or very short snout, like they are becoming now. We don't need another Chinese breed overtyped into the shapes western Shar-pei and Chows have been. The dogs in this video look good, not overtyped.

Pits n Pistols Short? Big head? Those are both attributes of pit bulls in a sense. Many APBTs have heads disproportionate to their bodies. It may not look pretty, but pitbulls weren’t originally bred for looks, they were bred for gameness. As far as being short goes, it’s really a subjective matter. Compared to a chihuahua, a pitbull isn’t short, compared to a mastiff breed, they are.

exactly! "pure breeding" almost always causes genetic problem. it goes against God' creation. That's why in nature - canines have an alpha pair... Those that are going to breed flee a long distance in order so that there is more genetic diversity.

The Outlander The safe path is for me to get something like the American Pit Bull Terrier. I could go with an English Bulldog.. but then I’m stuck giving commands in a British accent which I’m not very good at. It’s so limiting. :(

Go with the Pit. Just make sure it is a pure bloodline. Not one of them "Bully" mutts. I mean, might end up with some Italian Cane Corso or even Chinese Pug (Dog Gods forbid!) mixed in there. Might still have a weird accent and strange behaviors.
