The Camille Rose curl maker is one of my favourite gels. I apply it to soaking wet hair after leave in conditioner. I also love Mielle Organics honey ginger gel. I just picked up.a new bottle of it. I prefer the results I get when I use it on day 2 or day 3 hair. I just dampen my hair with a spray bottle then apply a pump of gel to each section and allow to air dry. Gives me great definition

Bioterra was 1st gel I got when starting cgm. I’m not strictly cg anymore but close. I think I need to revisit the gel. My hair is almost to my waist so I have to do stronger hold gels. I occasionally use kccc or Camille rose 🌹 but I’m still afterabout 8 monthes buying n experimenting but I’m not buying anymore, my bottom two drawers in fridge are full and two shelves outside full. My day one isn’t my favorite, itgets better as days pass. I’m going do your wash day routine next wash day. Great looking curls lovely lady! You’ve got it down to a t!!!💜💚

Excellent video, Chéri! Very helpful! I’m going to buy that Bioterra gel on your suggestion. 🌹🌹 I have two suggestions for you to. There is a hairspray in cream form from the “Curl Keeper” line. A company in Toronto. They sell in America too! It’s called “Tweek Hairspray in cream form”. I love it! This creamy hairspray doesn’t dry out your curls and leaves a nice hold without the crunchiness. They also have “Curl Keeper Beach Mist”. This mist is great on refresh days. It leaves my hair revitalized, smells lovely, doesn’t add that over product feeling... and like you do, I prefer my hair to have that loose natural look. The bonus is, you can use this beach mist on your body as well! So refreshing! I leave a bottle in my car. The only thing is, the bottle doesn’t spray out nice, so I transfer it to another spray bottle that I buy at a dollar store. These two products are wonderful for my 2C/3A high porosity hair. They are not the cheapest, but they might be more reasonably priced in the USA, because the Canadian dollar is low right now. However, I feel they are worth every penny. Let me know if you try them. Have a beautiful day! Stay safe ❤️

Thanks much for the info! The first 2 heavy gels I can not use. They are so heavy on my hair. I like the biotera gel and I like flaxseed gel, but when I make it, I make it 'weaker' version than most recipes I see. My hair is baby fine and can't handle much weight at all. I have tried numerous mousses, but most of them, but not all are full of toxic ingredients and usually they make my hair hard and stringy.

Love your videos and your beautiful hair! I have a similar hair texture and length to yours, very fine and easily weighed down. But I don’t have as much as you, it’s a bit sparse 😔 I love seeing which products work for you as there’s a good chance they will work for my hair too. I’ve tried both the Biotera gel and Ouidad since they aren’t too heavy for you. Both worked great for me! I like the Ouidad a bit more though as it definitely lasts longer for me, Biotera leaves my hair with more frizz in my roots by the end of the day. Still a great gel though, especially for the price. Have you ever tried Aveda Confixor gel? It’s very watery so seems like something that would work for your hair! It’s on my long list of “products to try” lol. I absolutely love Aveda’s Cherry Almond leave in conditioner 🥰 works great for my fine curls

Great video! Thanks!! I was just wondering: my hair looks great in the morning, but after a couple of hours I find that I get frizz and I look disheveled... I'm new with the cgm (4 months) and not sure what I'm doing wrong. I use a leave in conditioner on wet hair, then apply gel (I love the curl keeper right now) or sometimes I use a mousse. And then diffuse. When dry, I scrunch using an oil (silicone free). Love your hair!! Does it stay that way all day? I would love to know your thoughts on this?
@LuisaLouis
@LuisaLouis 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Aline. Congratulation on your transition! It seems like you are doing all the right things! I also experience more frizz as the day goes but my overall hair is able to maintain the moisture. But I've recently experienced high porosity and I can totally relate. My thoughts: - Make sure to do hair masks or deep conditioning once a week. that will bring you a lot of moisture to your hair. - Have you cut your hair yet? If your hair was too damage by heat or bleach and you deprive them of the silicons they were used to, you end up with high porosity hair, and it's very hard to keep the moisture in throughout the day. A big chop or regular trimming will help you regain a more balance/healthier hair. Keep in mind that I am not a professional hairstylist, therefore, I can only speak from my own experience 😉 I hope that helps a little. Good luck!

@@alineparadis8444 I would also try to pay attention to your ingredients. Those that have glycerin are great when its not super humid or dry out. I find I can only use finishing products with glycerin when the dew point is in the middle,not to dry not to humid, otherwise my hair will frizz up like a puff ball. Maybe this helps maybe not but worth a mention. Good luck and be patient.

You might need a stronger hold gel. I highly recommend LA Looks Extreme Sport gel, in blue. I do use quite a bit on soaking wet hair, so I sotc once dry. It's like 2 bucks at Walmart for 20 oz. Very budget friendly and effective, esp. in humid climates...even though it does contain glycerin. My hair is frizz free.

Very helpful video, but a question, please. I've been using the Bioterra gel since I started my curly girl journey almost a year ago, but I find sometimes I just don't care for the results. You mentioned using it with a light-weight leave-in conditioner, so I'm wondering if maybe the TXTR by Cantu leave-in is not the one to pair with it? Could you recommend something other than that to try? Many thanks!

@daniellegnemmi9818 4 жыл бұрын
Not sure if this is helpful or not but I add a little of the cantu curl activator cream before the bioterra gel. I find I get less frizz that way then using it with a leave in conditioner, it might help you?

Hello Linda. I personally stay away from Cantus products. They are too rich for me and tend to weigh my hair down. I recommend you try Bounce Curl Cream Gel I mentioned in this video, Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in, RIzos Curls Cream gel, or Jessicurls Brand also has a great leave-in. here's a link to my product review playlist where I talk and try all of these brands: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipjEmqmae79no9E 😉

Thanks so much for this video! Great tips! I’m just starting to learn how to style naturally curly hair after 20 years of getting straight perm. I’m currently using dippity do curly girl gelee. I was going to get kinky curly since so many ppl seem to like it but wanted to try a more budget friendly option first. But based on what u said perhaps I should try the bioterra gel next. Not sure if I can get it in Canada though. My hair looks so messy and frizzy after sleeping on it even though I tie my hair up to sleep. Using hairspray to tame the frizz is a great idea! Any suggestions on good hairsprays I can get in Canada? Preferably budget friendly?
