Tetra Pak was founded by Ruben Rausing and built on Erik Wallenberg's innovation, a tetrahedron shaped plastic-coated paper carton, from which the company name was derived The Stockholm Speeding Lottery The claim features in a meme posted on September 1 (2021) to an Australian Facebook group, which includes the text: “There’s a speed camera lottery in Stockholm, Sweden where drivers who drive at or under the speed limit are entered to win money. The prize fund comes from the fines paid by people who were speeding.” It’s true that a “speed camera lottery” was trialled in Stockholm, with the concept later tested in other Swedish cities; however, the temporary road-safety experiment ended 12 years ago from today (2023) Lutheran Church of Sweden Well about 63% of the population is members of the swedish church, of wich most is Atheists (90%+) ... my self included, the church of sweden do alot of humanitarian Aid, Keep Cultural Heritage Buildings in order, Preserve forrests and alot of other things ... as a member its possibly pay very little to help many others in need around the wourld.. The name Siri comes from Sigrud and Sigtuna (Monastary City), an old Swedish Church/Monestry City, the name lived on but have no religious mening what so ever..., originally i from the middle ages, OLd Norse and Icelandic and a mixture of 'sigr' (Old Norse for Victory / Victorious) and 'fríðr' (Icelandic for beutiful), the Swedish word 'segra' means to win ... ps its also a common name in Finland... Voting rights for women women who was land owners in Sweden (ex: inherit a farm as only surviving child) could vote from 1752, that right was in 1922 extended to all the people of sweden ... Sweden is a lovely country, however, they are smartly revising their immigration policies to allow fewer into the nation. This, "migration paradigm shift" is based on the manyfold serious problems related to immigrants already inside the country. Sweden has set up 'return centers' to house and expedite removal of asylum seekers for example. This country serves as an ominous illustration of how an open immigration policy practice can quickly upend the celebrated history of one of the world's beautiful societies.

Then you were unfortunately wrong about the other Erik as well. He was adopted and was Polish. The other is right with him. But he was not alone. That was the case mostly on Gotland. The Vitalie brothers (also the Fetalia brothers) were a numerous group of pirates who, mainly in the years 1391-1398, during the war of deposition against Albrecht of Mecklenburg, ravaged the Baltic Sea. They remained as privateers in the Baltic until the 1430s, although with less and less strength. The word comes from the German Vitalienbrüder, from the Low German Vitalie - provision, from the Latin victualia - food; they brought provisions to Stockholm which at this time was still held by Albrekt's troops, although the city was under siege by troops loyal to the Kalmar Union. The Vitalie brothers were probably organized as a guild or brotherhood with certain initiation rituals. Their rallying cry was: Friends of God and enemies of the whole world! ("Gottes Freunde und aller Welt Feinde!"). In 1439, Erik of Pomerania was overthrown from the throne and instead became a pirate on Gotland. Erik was adopted as a child by Queen Margareta and raised to be her heir. Crowned king of Sweden and Denmark at an all-Nordic meeting in Kalmar in 1397, he ruled together with Margaret until her death in 1412, and then alone.

The map of Sweden is wrong 25 seconds in... And "Ingen ko på isen" also refers to that the hoofs of the cow makes it dangerous to walk on ice. Cows often fall flat and will not be able to walk or stand up again and the risk of injury is why farmers generally do everything to avoid icy surfaces when herding cows. The guy on the picture 15:01 is the husband of Victoria (Prince Daniel), not Prince Carl-Philip. Also you didn't mention mention the founding father Gustaf Vasa, nor Carl Linneaus who is the "father of modern taxonomy". You also left our Swedens unique native tribes of Samic people.

Sorry, Regarding the formation of Sweden: Wrong, During the 20th century, the theories about the origin of the Swedish kingdom have replaced each other. Opinions have diverged, not least when it comes to chronology. Some researchers have spoken of a kingdom as early as the 5th century AD, others have placed the cradle in the early Middle Ages, in the 12th and 13th centuries. The different perceptions are partly due to unclear definitions. There is no specific person who united/founded Sweden. Possibly Erik Segersäll (but the wrong picture if you meant him, the picture shows Gustav Wasa's son, who was also called Erik, but was poisoned by his brother with pea soup and some poison in it.) Otherwise, others claim Birger Jarl. Gustav Wasa made Sweden independent anyway. Then there are lots of other candidates, unfortunately. Not so easy to determine who, unfortunately. Ruled mostly on the picture that was wrong.

It was not meatballs that Karl XII brought back from Turkey but “kåldolmar”! Which is minced meat wrapped in cabbage (in turkey they used wine leafs which was not available in Sweden ). No mention of the midnight sun? Why does he talk about 5 hours of light in the winter? The sun doesn’t rise above the horizon north of the polar circle in the winter, but the number of hours changes drastically with how far to the south you go. Sweden is 2000 km long!

That is fake news and is completely made up by activists, it have no historical merit, it was Vindolmar Carolus Rex XII took to Sweden, and we changed the ingredients with another type of cabbage since we didnt have that type of cabbage they had in Turkie, and it bacame Swedish Kåldolmar, and that food have nothing to do with meatballs, its not ever close, like comparing hamburgers with spaghetti, and we have actuall cookbooks that mention meatballs several 100 years before Carolus Rex even whent to Turkie. So that is bullshit.

I would’ve been useful to know which names were denied by the Govt when a mother wants to name her baby, instead of showing a ridiculous long line of letters that someone said it was a name. Why did you waste precious time showing that worthless information??

@Vinterfrid Жыл бұрын
So what? He never said Swedes drink more coffee than any other nation. And as for Greenland - technically it belongs to Denmark, but is not considered to be a part of Denmark's land area. Got it?

From my time in Sweden, my conclusion is the primary determinative “factor” in the Swedish society is the fear each Swede has of other people. I think that fear is the single greatest factor in the structure of the society. Single person households are rapidly rising in Sweden. The “socialist” Sweden is actually dominated by capitalist motives.
@donquixote1502 Жыл бұрын
It´s not fear, that is BS. We are more introverted maybe. We like our "own" time.
@macjonte Жыл бұрын
Maybe you’re confusing socialism with communism?
@anthonyburke5656 Жыл бұрын
Are you really that naive and under educated to think that Sweden has some brand of Socialism? What Sweden has is crass Capitalism, with a thin veneer of “Social Welfare” that cracks at any pressure. The Swedish Left has been captured and led for the last 70 years by a myopic myth of inherent virtue and the Right captured and led by a belief in their inherent ability. Both have been misled and guided by Capitalist Theory so that they can’t even read a set of accountancy books.@@macjonte

It has nothing to do with fear. But all swedish people are as greta garbo.
@carnifpsgod93838 ай бұрын
Fear? lol no. I'm not afraid of anyone, in all terms. I stand up for myself without hussle. You might refer to "shy"? Yes alot of swedes are shy and that can be a factor if you interact with them... We are pretty strong invidualists, we enjoy time for ourselves in term of not interacting. We dont like "small talk". When you refer about "strangers". BUT that doesnt mean, that you cannot just talk to us, we are very grounded, honest, transparent, warm, and polite. You can quote us like this, when you get 1 foot in, you usually have a friend for life.
