Great conversation! Thanks to you fellas, I picked-up the Blue Chip version of that pick with the holes in it. Can't wait to see how it handles a little Tennessee Stud 🐴

I’ve enjoyed this and other discussions on flat picks. Would be very interesting to see video on how Jake goes about reshaping a pick to personal preference and how to polish/bevel an edge. Don’t think anything has been done on this topic before.

I play a lot of these same picks and a few others I’d recommend trying are Honey picks, apolo, and the cheap Golden Gate picks. They’re all really good

I like Jim Dunlop PrimeTone sculptured 1.3... tri pick ..not too big . Cost 14-20 bucks for 3 of them.... I'll customize them and put a rounded tip on it for switching to the mandolin... You can spend a lot of money on a pick , but you won't get 10c worth of noticeable difference worth between it and a blue chip ... I don't have any problems holding any pick..I found it depends on your pick angle ,the depth you dig in, and the thickness that affects the sounds more than anything else as long as your pick is made out of a halfway decent material. I never can hold on to a pick more than 4 or 5 months without loosing them or wearing them down . But I have enough on hand and I shape them while watching TV or just BSing on the phone ,ect. So buying a $50 pick makes no sense for me whatsoever.
