I love how you brought up the toggle capo! That's the only capo I own at the moment that I found in my uncle's old guitar case that is definitely over 30 years old. It still works, but I find it doesn't work as well with my ukulele compared the the classical guitar I found it with. It's also finicky, especially if I wanted to use the capo to do a quick key change in a song. Thanks for the advice to help me find a new capo to fit my style! :D

Hi, can a guitar capo be use for ukulele or do I need a specific size for ukulele?
@OneMusicSchool Жыл бұрын
Good question. Technically yes, but there have been some drawbacks that I’ve experienced. Whenever I have used a guitar capo in a pinch on my ukulele, I find that it does the job but gets in the way. Because the capo is longer the width of the fretboard, I find that it gets in the way when I want to pivot my wrist to play certain chords. I end up bumping against it, and it becomes difficult to play. Also, some of the guitar capos that I’ve used in a pinch on my ukulele have weighed the ukulele neck down. That’s just my experience. I have several different ukulele capos, and I find them to be more comfortable. I hope that helps, and thanks for watching 😀.

Hi. I have a guitalele, what kind of capo could I use for that? The same as for the biggest ukulele?
@gingerbeer9142 жыл бұрын
That depends on the width of the neck. I use a B-Byrd ukulele capo. Later I saw their capos under the Ibanez brand, so maybe Hoshino is the new owner. The prices went UP, that's for sure. I paid €6.95 for the small one. The alternative would be a classical guitar capo, because there is no radius involved.

I use Thalia capo for my acoustic guitar and I love it! It’s robust and a bit chuncky but you don’t have to put it right next the fret to have the optimum pressure on the strings. Plus, the part that comes in contact with the strings is made in silicone and it is interchangeble to match the fretboard radius. Moreover, you can move it up and down the neck easily and it’s simply beautiful: it comes in chrome and wood inlay but there are tons of models. It is a bit expensive (mine was about 70€) but it definitely worth it! Check out here: www.thaliacapos.com This is mine: www.thaliacapos.com/collections/celtic/products/black-chrome-finish-with-hawaiian-koa-celtic-knot-engraved-inlay
