Mlh prep is organised mostly every 2 months, it's just a preview of 3 week and currently there are no prep program opened, only main fellowship 😊

Prep batches are not opened currently, but you can check website if they are, You can mention your contribution of GSOC in the essays also the stipend for Indians is approx. 1.2kUSD

I had applied. But, while in the application process, they had a exclusive requirement for certain programming languages which didn't include java. Further, even if we had to submit a code base apart from the mentioned programming languages, as far as i remember, they wanted it to be converted into the list of languages available. Is there a scope of java? Or, someone like me has to learn javascript, or rust from scratch to increases the chances of selection?

Hey they have certain criteria but in codebase there is always an option of "other" and same in language too so u can add your preferred because during my prep fellowship I submitted an IoT project and I was invite for a technical interview and got selected too.

Can you submit a college team project for code sample specifying your role OR only personal project will qualify?

If you are submitting a group project then u should have done significant contribution and you can explain each and every part of the project, but I suggest you to submit individual project

I'm in 1st year and 3 months into web dev. And i think i shouldn't apply untill I've some good project. One of my project idea is a space centric web app which tracks ISS and space debris that uses free apis of nasa. I'll try to add live radio chatters of astronauts if i can fetch that from somewhere. Will this kind of projects gets attention? Or should i apply this year or wait for the next. I want some feedbacks for my project idea. Thanks
