A few more notes regarding this video! » I am aware filing back and forth is not the best for your nails, but I do it anyway because I know my nails can take it (and it's only every 2 weeks). I don't recommend this if you don't have strong nails too. The entire process of filing and painting my nails takes around an hour give or take, then I like to leave about 1.5-2 hours of easygoing at-home activities to allow them to dry.

Guys! Eat healthy :D It's not only necessary for having strong nails but for your hair and skin and... It's just generally very important... Look at me: I am a person who doesn't like that much food and I eat way to much chocolate... I don't get enough iron (I don't know if you really say iron... I'm not a native english-speaker :D) and because of that my nails break really quick... So eating more healthy is really something important... :D Yeah... I guess everybody knows this already.

+helpingxgirlsxlikexme base coat, two coats of a good quality nail polish like OPI, all followed by top coat (I recommend the one I use in the video). as long as you aren't doing things like rock climbing your nail polish should stay in tact! everybody has different nails though. if your nails are thin, flakey, bendy etc. the nail polish may chip more easily. as long as you have healthy strong nails and follow the steps I mentioned previously you should have no problem!

sure, I can suggest applying a layer of liquid latex all around your nail (basically anywhere you don't want the nail polish to go) and you can peel it off after. this is a common method used by nail artists. I don't do this myself but I know it works wonders. alternatively you could just use some sticky tape :)

I noticed when I started using OPI cuticle oil that my nails became much stronger and they are at the longest length they’ve ever been. Close to looking like yours! Also, a beauty trick my mom taught me- lather your hands in a thick layer of hand cream and then put on moisturizing gloves and fall asleep with them on. Not only will you wake up with hands as smooth as a baby’s bum that will slow down the aging process of your skin if you do this religiously, but your nails will be well moisturized as well. Dry nails are brittle nails! Keep them hydrated! :)

It really does take practice to paint your own nails. I’m REALLY good at it now. But when I started it was like a 5 year old painted my nails. Good tips in this video. I use lots of them. I use a Elf Cosmetics $1 concealer brush to clean up mistakes like flooding my cuticles with polish. It’s more efficient than the q-tips to me. You can get the concealer brushes at Targets. They are the perfectly shaped for cuticle cleanup.

i am currently experimenting with every single nail shape i can find online (i'm certain i'll prefer round oval and almond because they are the shapes i've worn my entire life and most shapes look too "done" for me but i figured i might as well try and have fun with it) and i've tried squares the other week, beyond looking stupid this short with no polish and having the feeling i'm wearing my mom's nails (she's been wearing rectangles my entire life) i was happy with the strength it provided but i felt like i wore iron clogs at my fingertips, i'm already scared of what "edge/arrow" shape feels like (would look fun tho)

My nails and my hair grow super quick, they're just shitty. My nails have started growing in random directions suddenly. Like, my index fingernails are curving outwards and one pinky nail is curving upward like some sort of swiss army nail. Apparently nailogical(¿) said that strengtheners, etc. are actually bad for nails..do you have any info on that? I brought a glass file and it was blunt and destroyed after one use..in fact, part way through the use. It was the only brand of glass file I could find within an hours radius. I used a food skin file instead. My nails are getting pretty strong again but they're breaking because of the weird new ways they're growing in..there's too much stress on certain points because of the way they're winding. What's the point of them growing quickly if they look gross. I can't even get fake things like acrylic or extensions because of have to take them off after 8 days.

Very helpful tips! I'm trying to grow mine out right now. If you ever do decide that you need to remove the staining, lemon and baking soda is a great at-home remedy.

I watch this videos once a year because I only grow my nails out once a yeah in September to December-South African summer. Its painful to grow them out in winter because my skin underneath my nails is constantly dry

yes they are VERY curved. remember she has rounded nails so you can't see the curve as much as with square nails. idk why you would tell her that her nails arent curved tho like who cares ???
