I'm a Class of '82 lettered graduate of NHS during my foreign student exchange year (I'm German). Back in '81, Nampa had a population of just 12,351. I cannot believe this city has surpassed the 100k mark in only 40 years. Incredible.......... Using the street view function of a well known search engine, I was still able to navigate to NHS from my hostparent's site - it's somewhat comforting. I hit the subscribe button for nostalgical reasons as I really had a wonderful year in Nampa!

This is another nice video that attracts me to Nampa. I'm interested in Nampa and Caldwell. When I make up there, I will explore both areas thoroughly, but thank you for this very nice survey of the area. 👍👍👍

So sad 😞. My family lived in Nampa since the 50's. I was born and raised in Nampa. Everyone knew everyone. I had 5 brothers two sister. We lived on the north side of the railroad track. It was regular to walk downtown over the tracks waiting for the train to pass and just enjoy the small stores and visit people. Country drives were awesome! Everything was just the right size. I moved to another state. I recently visited home and it is nothing like when I left in 2000. If your weren't born and raised in Nampa, nothing compares to the old days. Please try to preserve what is left of Nampa.

I would like to agree but the prices are still astronomical. I would love to buy in the Treasure Valley but the price range I am willing to pay fall in the CBH and Hubble range which I would not buy. Everyone knows they are substandard builders.
@michealsizemore1
@michealsizemore1 2 жыл бұрын
@Mike I don't have a link but word of mouth from locals and personally walking through them I see a difference. Also, when we were looking through the Hubble Homes the representatives admitted that they use cheap materials to keep the costs low. Same for CBH. I personally would not spend half a million on a house that uses cheap materials. That is just my 2 cents.

Like, ok, so honestly, Nampa straight up sucks! You are a minimum of at least 30+ miles from anything even kinda sorta interesting, it has a ton of Surrenos Mexican gang members, and the Karcher Mall is effectively a dead mall ... their one and only mall. If you buy a house there, you are an idiot. I work there and I promise it is just soooo not worth it. Lastly, NO, there is no "quick freeway access". It is a total pain in the ass to drive and taking the freeway there is a complete nightmare. Plan on at least thirty minutes stuck in traffic.

Where would you say are the greenest parts of that whole valley area? Nampa, meridian and Boise?
@SummerAstonRealEstate
@SummerAstonRealEstate 2 жыл бұрын
The greenest areas are around the areas with water which have the most trees. So along the Boise River from East Boise all the way West to Star. Most of Boise tends to feel more green because they have many more areas of established trees that were planted many years ago. (It's nicknamed the "City of Trees"). The foothills on the Northside of Boise are usually brown and treeless, and turn green for a few weeks in the spring. And then established neighborhoods scattered throughout the area, where they've planted trees and had time to grow are also green. It is NOT like Northern Idaho here - we do not have evergreens all over, only evergreens where someone has planted them for landscaping. It tends to feel more green in the areas between the Boise RIver and the Foothills, again, all the way from East Boise out to Star, and it feels less green on the south side of the valley by south Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell because that's where it turns to large farm land and/or high desert plains. The areas in Nampa and Caldwell that are greener are along creeks and areas where trees were planted. No new construction neighborhoods seem green because the trees and landscaping are little, but they will grow. And in the winter, most of the trees lose their leaves across the whole area, and all the grass turns brown and is brown along the streams too since it is dormant, and Boise and the whole valley turns pretty brown for a few months. Which makes spring extra beautiful.

Looking for best balance of trees and potential snow
@SummerAstonRealEstate
@SummerAstonRealEstate 2 жыл бұрын
@@melissabernard3663 Not sure how much snow you would like to tolerate, but we don’t get much in the Treasure Valley. (Nampa, Boise, etc..all get about the same amount of snow if we even get any). And as you know, if there are more evergreens there is usually more snow. So possibly you could look into Garden Valley- which has more evergreens and also more snow, but not as much as McCall, or Wilderness Ranch/Idaho City area. Those areas are both about 45 minutes to town and are real mountain life living though so you have to tolerate dirt roads, wildlife, long drives to shopping, etc…beautiful places with evergreen trees though! North idaho has evergreens and much more snow.

@@SummerAstonRealEstate does meridian get a lot of snow, inches wise? I saw in your video that it's unpredictable lol. In Salt lake city in Utah county for reference
@SummerAstonRealEstate
@SummerAstonRealEstate 2 жыл бұрын
@@melissabernard3663 Meridian gets the same as the rest of the valley. We get much much less snow than the Salt Lake area. We are about 2,000 feet lower in elevation and the way Boise sits in the valley in the middle of some ranges, the storms piddle out by the time they reach us. It’s actually kind of disappointing. Ha ha. Our typical year we will have one good storm with maybe 5 inches in a couple of days that stays a few days and the rest of the time, if we get snow, is like a skiff that melts by morning. We have had several years where we never used our snow shovel. Only in 2016 we got crazy record snow, and that was still less snow than I remember from my winters of living along the Wasatch Front. So far this year, we’ve had one morning with a little snow that stuck for a couple of hours (a skiff- doesn’t cover the grass even) and then it turned to rain.

There are many rentals in Nampa, from townhomes to apartments to homes to duplexes...they are scattered throughout all of Nampa. The best place to see what is available and get an idea of how much rentals cost in Nampa is to look them up on Zillow. Most property management companies post them there.
