If you’re like me and get anxiety (at times) about your music not being good enough just remember to focus when you’re in the studio. We don’t get it right all the time, but we can focus on what music really is and therefore use the studio time according to what music really is!

definately got some wisdom out of it, thx bro! While the music I'm producing is completly different to psytrance I still love the creative input I get from your vids!

Really cool also seeing SERUM ideas used for Risers along with modulation options, or using Samples as Riser fodder.

Love the transition into your title sequence, I like hearing what sound you're doing right at the start like that, very helpful :)

Thanks for that dude. Its showed me i do not use enough risers in my track. I needed this as i was thinking about using flangers with noise and you made it sound good.

Thanks! also try with reverbs, and modulate the time etc, it creates weird artefacts that can sound great

Yup, they're great for building tensions, even using the reverb tail section on a drop as a "splash" effect is a great tip too :)

For the cubase sample editor bit you can switch the pitch envelope to SYNC mode to get the scale in beats rather than seconds

Very clear. Love the use of sampler track and can do as have cubase without serum. Thank you so much. Can you make some Skrillex sounds / risers maybe?
@MrKrummelumme5 жыл бұрын
Hi Dash that technique you mentioned with the kick as a riser got me thinking, you made a video about doing Tristan style percussion with serum, you know loading up samples in the noise ocillater, i was thinking that maybe you can do that with a kick, and then just use the technique you just showed in this video with the noise riser.? :-)
@DashGlitch5 жыл бұрын
Sure you can, I guess for the same results, less CPU is used with Sampler, but there are a million ways to skin a cat, and each of us find a different workflow in those ways :)

Have raised a query in the cubase forum to see if there's a way to save sample control window settings for use with other samples. At present looks like the controls and sample are tied together eg. when saving a sample control window preset which is annoying. Importing a new 'file' resets the settings as you found.
